  1. So how did it go? Did you come home the same day or stay overnight. I was an in and out, but was kept over night. Remember to rest, walk around the house for gas pains and take your meds on schedule. It helps prevent the pains or makes it more manageagable. Good luck and God bless....
  2. Well lets see if this worked?? Thank you so much for replying you were the only one.
  3. I need some help. I have set up two times a tickler for my posts here. I don't know how to save it. I don't know how to "Bookmark" it and I don't know how to add it to my signature ? I didn't even know I had a signature line. I have been trying to figure this out and I guess I am hopeless. :smile2: I would really appreciate some help. If you want to email me you can send it to pksichel1@netzero.com. Thanks for the help. Hope to hear soon.
  4. Well it has been a week today since I had my surgery with Dr. Patching. I would recommend him to anyone!!:tt1: He has been open, and honest with me. He has answered all questions and has been very encouraging to me and my family !!!! He gets all "A's" in my book.
  5. Okay I have to ask... How did you get banded without your honey knowing? I cannot figure this one out???LOL:w00t:
  6. Boy can I relate to you LOL:blink: My husband says that he likes the "Cushion for the pushin". He said he doesn't want me to get below 200. I said he wishes. I want to get to 150. He is still being supportive, but he lets me know for sure that he likes the way I am and if I don't lose any more weight (I have lost 41 lbs) it is okay. What do you think?
  7. My surgeon was Dr. Steven Patching who has an office off of Howe Avenue. He is wonderful and I have had a great experience so far with him. His office staff is friendly and helpful whenever you call. He has a great bedside manner, is very easy to talk with and makes you feel like you are the only patient he has. He is always happy to answer any questions and has made the whole process of being banded so much easier than I ever expected. He is a great motivator. He has always been available to me when I have needed him. It is people before the surgery or anything. He is on your side! I would highly recommend him to anyone considering this surgery.

  9. Me too !! I am ready. My surgery will be at 10 am and I should come home tomorrow. I am a little nervous, but I think it will be fine. I will be thinking of you and wish you the best of all of it. We are on our trip now....Let's enjoy it!!! Pam92
  10. I have been told that you can pretty well eat what you want after a while on the band, but that sounds like what you need to avoid. Until you are mentally ready to take the steps away from food, I am sorry but my opinion will be that you will be unsuccessful in the band department. You may want to consider the full bariatric surgery. But I think you have some issues you need to get straight in your mind before you take any more steps in that directions. Go to a doctor and discuss your food issues and get a hold on it. :wow::unsure:Good luck to you and I will be praying for you.:woot::thumbup:
  11. I think you will do fine. I am 5'3" and started out at 276. I have lost 40 lbs even before surgery! My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday. Hopefully by using the band, staying on a diet plan (Jenny Craig) and exercise I will keep my stomach flappy skin to a minimum. I really cannot afford plastic surgery or really want it so I am really trying exercise. I wish you the best of luck and don't give up on yourself!! Pam92:wink:
  12. Congratulations ! ! ! That is really great. My surgery is next Wednesday. I will let you know how it goes. But don't second guess your decision. As long as it is the best plan for you that is all that matters. Again..Congratulations. Pam92
  13. :wink2: I just went for my preop dr visit and the one thing he stressed over and over is that if you are vomiting call your doctor right away. It has too many things that can affect your band. I would call right away, maybe you can get a sooner appt and have some liquid taken out, I am sure you would feel it was worth the 3 hour drive.:wink2: Let us know what happens...Pam92
  14. WOW that is some weight loss! ! !! :wink2: Way to go~~ Keep up the good work. I know how good it feels to have success with this. You should be very proud of yourself. Heck...I don't even know ya, but I am VERY PROUD of you. God bless ya and keep up the good work. Pam92
  15. My surgery date is 12/9. I have been using Jenny Craig for my diet until surgery and probably afterwards also. We just took the 1200 calorie food sheets for different weeks and took out the Snacks between meals and it went to 1000 calories a day. It seemed to work for me. If you cannot afford Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers is a good one to use also. I am also excited and nervous about the diet. I have been so good on my Jenny diet and I get weighed on Monday morning. I think I am going to have a meal of something I want to before surgery. It will probably mean a weight gain at Jenny's but maybe not. We will see. I have lost around 40 pounds now. Thanks for listening, sometimes I wonder if anyone is really out there. I don't think I have had a reply from anyone. :wink2: Well good luck and God bless ya!!!! Pam92
  16. Hi you sound like you could be me!! I am 58, with diabetes, high blood pressure along with about 10 other things. I am scheduled to be banded this Wednesday, 12/9. My doctor said this would affect my diabetes and high blood pressure, but more slowing than gastric bipass. I am excited and still nervous. I feel like I just don't have a handle on the diet portion of it all. I am going to call my nutrionist on Monday at talk to her. Hope it helps.:wink2:
  17. Hi, if you get that list would you email it to me? My surgery date is 12/9 and that would help out alot! Maybe we should set a thread up the holds the lists so if someone wants on they can go there and see it? What do you think??? Let me know, Pam92 Pam1sichel@yahoo.com:sad:
  18. Do you have a fever? If not, I wouldn't worry too much. But that being said...I am a world class worry wart! Good luck. My surgery is for 12/9. I will say a prayer for you! Pam92:blushing:
  19. WOW! This got a little heavy in the emotion department. I think pain is different for each person. You cannot expect someone to tell you how you are going to feel. Just go into it with a positive thought and you will be fine. What ever happens, remember you CAN DO IT ,
  20. I am excited to learn our new name. Happy Thanksgiving everyone !!
  21. Has anyone been on Jenny Craig before surgery and planning to go back to it after? I am going to try and I am curious on how it works. Any advice?? Thanks, Pam
  22. I am having problems getting the weight loss scale on my emails.. Is there an instruction sheet for "dummies" LOL!
  23. Boy that is typical for HR / Payroll departments. I worked in HR and payroll for the last 10 -15 years of my employment. I am retired now. It seems that since you work in HR or Payroll you are expected to give up your personal needs and put the companies and other employee's needs in front of your own. No WAY! I think what your wife did was the exactly correct thing to do. If you want to look up the labor laws go to: www.texaslaborlaws.com . Look under Time off, and Family Medical Leave (FMLA). Besure to check out FMLA. That is a Federal Law that they must honor. Let me know how it goes. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep on...Keep'n on. Pam:thumbup:
  24. Hi there December Banders! My surgery is going to be done on 12/9. As you all are, I am excited and nervous. I feel I am ready to do what it takes to get to my goal of 150. I have a great support system in place, my daughter, my husband and a couple of friends who know what I am doing. I am still not sure what to buy at the store for the procedure, both before and after surgery. I bought some popsicles and I am going to buy some protein powder soon. Not sure about mushy stuff. Well I hope I can help some of you and I am glad I have my "December Banders" to go to for support too. Thanks, Pam
  25. Yes I am going to keep using Jenny Craig if possible. I am only going to buy one lunch or one dinner and use it for both meals. If I do that I will still have food left over. My JC rep said she would work with me. I will still be able to go in once a week and weigh, order food when I am able to eat again. I have my dr appt the first week in dec before surgery and I am taking my JC food list in and check with Dr. Patching to make sure there isn't anything on there I shouldn't have. If I get any more info on the food I will let you know what I find out. You should check with your JC rep, and explain the diet to her for our first few weeks and then you two can come up with a game plan for you. After that maybe take it to the doctor and review it with him. (??? Couldn't hurt ???) Stay in touch... Pam:rolleyes2:
