  1. Sorry, you guys are right. Guess I was just depressed when I wrote this. I have been lately, not sure why.. Guess things are not going like I thought they would with the fills and weight loss. Forgive me??
  2. I found that when I went to the lap band chat rooms people were talking about everything but lap bands. I needed to talk about fills, getting the right foods, when to see my doctor, not who was leaving whom, etc.
  3. From your lips (Fingers) to my ears. I am very frustrated. I was banded on Dec9. Since my surgery I am down around 10 pounds. Last time I went to the Dr. I has only lost 1 pound!! I asked him if he was going to do a fill and he said they don't do them that fast. I have to wait 3 weeks and go to the hospital and get the fill. (They have to get approval from my insurance) I guess so they can make sure everything is where it should be and the band with more fluid in it is doing was it is suppose to. I just hope it gives me some restriction. Right now I can eat what ever I want and it is getting me in trouble. Thanks for writing and please keep us informed how you are doing...you certainly helped me to know that someone out there understands what it is like. Good luck.
  4. What does a personal trainer do? Make you work longer? Work harder. Do you have to pay for a trainer? Please give me some input. I go to 24 hour fitness, but I trust you guys more. You aren't trying to sell me something. Know what I mean??
  5. I have the same question. So be sure to let us know what you find out from your dr. PLEASE
  6. What are the "stats" for Atkins? What is the cost? How many gr of sugar, carbs, and protein? I am a diabetic so I have to be careful with premixed drinks. Glad you found something that works for you. Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Keep coming back and read everything. That is what I have done and I have learned alot. Read all the different sites. I usually go to "new posts" and go from there. The Chat room is good also if you have any questions. Watch out though sometimes the people can get grumpy in there. Good luck to you and like I said keep coming back and read everything!
  8. So give... What was it like just going with a tight band?
  9. Okay I am confused as to some terminology... 1. What is the "sweet spot" and how will I know when I get there? 2. How can you vomit so much and still not lose weight? 3. What is "pb"? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? 4. My Dr. said if I vomit even one time I am to call his office right away or go to the emergency room, don't all Dr want this? I was told my goal was to never vomit again..EVER. Can anyone help unconfuse me???? Thanks.
  10. Today is 12/25/09. When and where is your next meeting? Are you still all together? I was banded on 12/9. Need a group to support me. Please contact me via email and let me know. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night !!!
  11. I didn't do well today either. We had Prime Rib for dinner and rolls, salad, mash potatoes with green beans. We had cheese and crackers and salsa w/chips. We also had pumkin pie, apple pie and pecan pie. I had some of all of it. I certainly didn't eat as much as I would have pre banding, but certainly more than I should have at 3 weeks out of surgery. Like everyone said...tomorrow is another day. Don't know what I will weigh. I have my next Dr appt on 1/5 and hopefully my first fill. I seem to be able to eat when and what I want without feeling full at all. Please keep me in your prayers. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!!
  12. Remember when Turkey used to be cheaper than ground beef? Before everyone figured out it was better for you? What's up with that????
  13. ??????????????? HUH ??????????????? What's that suppose to mean????
  14. Hi RadioGirl: I am feeling the same way. My band is unfilled and I don't feel any restriction at all. I had my surgery on 12/9 and am eating mushy foods. Last night I put some roast beef and broth in the blender and made a puree. It went down fine and no issues last night or today. I am hoping I am not doing anything wrong. Guess my Dr will tell me. I am going to call tomorrow and see if he wants to see me one of my "pokey" sites looks like it might be infected. Not sure. Been using Hydrogin peroxide (sp). Well good luck to both of us. I will let you know if I hear anything else.
  15. Sooooo... First is your coffee decaf? I really miss my coffee. (2nd) How soon could you start drinking it? (3) I have my 2nd followup appointment 3 weeks after my surgery. Do you think I will get my first fill then? It will be 4 weeks then. (4) Why does coffee make your band less tight? Is that enough questions? I am sorry if they seem dumb, but I would love to be able to just take my capsules and pills because you're right it taste TERRIBLE!! :smile2::wink2:
  16. Hey thanks for the welcome! You all are great. No one has made me feel more welcome that you guys! I decorated our tree, went shopping for groceries, cleaned the house some, sent my daughter off to play out with her band (She is the drummer and is 37 yrs old). Her husband is the lead guitar and backup singer. Hope your weekend goes well.
  17. Hey Tracy, my husband is watching the game. Hope you picked the Cowboys.... I am a Saints fan...to bad for me!:smile2:
  18. I would say just keep sipping and walk around. Get your mind off of food, which I know is difficult. Good luck to you.
  19. :wink2: WOW WOW WOW THAT IS GREAT ! ! ! Congratulations to you. That is a big drop in size. I just have one questions...what does "nsv" mean? Keep up the good work ! :smile2:
  20. I am looking forward to the responses to your questions. I also am on a TON of meds for bipolar and diabetes and high blood pressure, cholesterol etc. I cannot crush or open capsules on several of them. I have been opening some capsules because I am afraid of not taking them. Some of the very small tablets I have started trying to swallow and so far haven't had any problems (keep your fingers crossed for me). Wish us luck that someone answers. Maybe one of the DOCs will answer. Have you asked your Psy. about the meds? Good Luck. :smile2:
  21. :smile2::scared2:Boy this thread was written for me! ! ! I am having trouble with staying on the wagon of only liquids and mussy foods also. Reading what everyone has written has been very inspiring. I also feel no restriction on my band which was put in place on 12/9/09. I wasn't sure where I should feel the sensation of being full. It helped to read that it should be in my chest. I was expecting it in my belly. I have felt somethink in my chest between my breast. Would that be it? I want to thank everyone who wrote to this thread and I look forward to answers to my questions. God Bless ya ALL!:wink2:
  22. Tracy, consider me your "ride along buddy".LOL Did you have your band emptyed when you got so close to goal? I am very proud of you for quitting smoking. I know how hard that is. You are very brave. You have gone through the weight loss thing before and you know you can do it and what it takes, so I am sure you will. If you need to talk (write) Let me know I will send you my email address so we can chat. But we can chat here also. I was banded on 12/9/09 and am doing okay. I haven't been sick and haven't had much pain. One of my incision sites looks like it might be getting infected so I will call my Dr on Monday. Oh by the way, I am from Sacramento California. I have been married for 17 years to a pretty great guy. I have 1 daughter and 1 stepdaughter who has given us 3 grandchildren. My husband and I got married on February 29th. (We thought it would be fun and it was) Well I will wait to hear from you. Keep up the faith and hard work. Remember you have fellow bandsters to keep you company!!! :wink2::wub:
  23. How long do you have to wait to eat the crackers? I was banded on 12/9. Boy they sound great!!!! :smile2:
  24. Richie: any receipes? I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!!! It is my favorite and I am always looking for new stuff. I am still on soft foods and I can hardly wait to be able to have regular food...still aways off.
