  1. See I'm babbling, I knew it. I was looking at other people's menus and they resemble that on many of these threads. I'm not losing weight fast at all. like 1lb every two weeks if I'm lucky. I've just had my 3rd fill and for the first time feel some restriction. I guess, I'm thinking I should feel more.
  2. I know it's been done, but it's still new to me. I am at 5.5ccs and I'm finally feeling some restriction, but I'm hungry in the a.m. and am struggling there. After reading many of you, you are eating way smaller amounts of food than I am and you must be feeling satiety. Is it normal to eat ... Protein shake 1/2 cup of cottage cheese/fruit for lunch then 3 oz of meat Cause I can eat a lot more, and I'm not losing weight fast, so I'm thinking I need a fill. I'm way hungrier at the end of the day too. I guess I'm babbling, but I'm trying to gauge what it feels to hit a sweet spot. I don't want to eat more ,but I'm HUNGRY, so I eat more than many of you. I just want to know what is a pretty decent normal bandsters menu if they want to lose weight.
  3. I hope you are feeling better! Let us know what you find out. hug
  4. I don't think it's shallow. I think it's normal to want your support system and your family to be excited for you and to give positive reinforcement. That just sucks and I'd be pretty disappointed too. Just know that you are doing a great thing for yourself and you will be the winner in the end!
  5. Ok, I'm on fill #2 and no restriction. Went to a party and they had flat Iron steak. I ate too much. I knew it once I finished. Ugh. lesson learned. I was miserable all night, full, gassy just awful. Never threw up. The next day I ate nothing but Protein shakes and Water. HOrribly gassy and icky feeling all day yesterday, woke up and felt better today but still horribly gassy and kind of icky feel. Ate a pretty bland diet today, and still just felt off. Has this happened to anyone? Is this abnormal?
  6. I think I would have fainted on the spot. It's amazing how much they charge.
  7. Thank you all! This is such a stupid fear I know. I was extremely athletic half my life until age 28. I know how to work out, I think I'm surprised at how much I can't do and I get disappointed. It'll take time, and I will do it. I just hate the thought of starting, kind of like getting a shot. lol
  8. Ok for Christmas, Dh and I got a gym membership. Good part, we know the owner (friend of dh's). Bad part: My self confidence and fears that I have about going to gym is getting bigger and bigger. I'm a big girl and I'm so nervous to go there. I just want to get used to going and doing aerobic activity. What should I do? How do you overcome your fears? HOw did you start out? I wish I could make the fear go away!
  9. I agree with the above. I moved onto sf pudding, cottage cheese, soups, chicken salad, tuna salad.
  10. I just had my 2nd fill 2 days ago. Now I have 4ccs in my 10cc band. I'm not feeling much restriction if any at all. Although, I'm really proud I handled myself well. I am a bit of a needle weenie. The first one:It was no more than a bee sting and some moving the port around to get in the middle. This one: bee sting, found it, added and over. Try not to be too nervous, b/c I'm a big needle freak and I handled it.
  11. Mine was bulky too, but it was just swollen. I can't see it now and it doesn't hurt. I slept on my side about 9 days out.
  12. Luckily I didn't have shoulder pain, and I've had one fill this last week of 2.5ccs.
  13. I just had my first fill on Monday. I didn't get numbing at all. bummer. It stung a little, but I assume to put the numbing, it's using a needle too? It didn't hurt too bad, but man did they push around to get it jabbed in the middle of the port. I felt a bit sore there later. I only got 2.5cc's, and i go back dec. 22nd. I'm not feeling anymore restriction? are you? I've been on liquids for two days.
  14. I'm a PCOS'r too, although I was able to conceive prior to the band with the help of a great Reproductive Endocrinologist. Have you all been going to one? I'm assuming you have. I would assume with weight loss it might move some hormones around and hopefully eggs will be flying. Can I ask what your FSH level is? Did they test your LH levels too? I would never take the word of a general practitioner for fertility or an OB/gyn. Go above to a specialist. I was on Clomid, and ready for an IUI when the combo of metformin and Clomid worked for me. Sending you loads of baby vibes. Oh and I was over 250 when I conceived, so I know it's way possible for you! Good luck!
  15. I would say a sincere thank you card is sufficient. You could bring muffins and a fruit tray to his office.
  16. I have a physical 3 yr. old too. lol I told her I had tummy surgery and have boo boos, so no jumping on mommy. I can hug or lean into it, but no jumping. She got it. I was healed pretty good at 3 weeks and I told her I could have a good hug. She says, "Mommy, can I jump on you now!" lmao I alway turn to the left, so she's really coming into my right side more. Ornery kiddos.
  17. I was banded 10/24 and am healed I think. I'm on soft foods and I can eat anything if I choose to. I hate that. I'm holding to 21lbs down, but have not moved it in over a week and a half. My first fill is dec. 1st and I really want it to make some difference. A very proud moment for me is that I've been off of Coke Zero and caffeine for 23 days. This is huge for me. I miss it a lot. I need to exercise more. It has gotten cold and I don't want to walk outside. Plus I want to join this gym, but I've always failed that and don't want to waste money at this time of the year. sigh. On my port site, where the scar is, I feel like it's thicker there. Doesn't really hurt, just feels bulky. hmm?
  18. I got nauseaus on the second day and took my anti nausea meds, they really helped. AFter day 3 I really was fine. Good luck.
  19. Banded on 10/24 and no restriction. First fill on Dec. 1st. Turkey for sure a 1/3 cup of mashed potatoes 1/3 cup of stuffing veggie one roll, not a butter fan, so all good there. I'm sure later I'll have one piece of SF chocolate pudding pie.
  20. I'm 3rd week out and I am on soft foods. I'm doing chicken with a lot of marinade so it's juicy. I'm doing Tilapia. Yogurt, oatmeal, sf pudding, I had pork loin with bbq sauce, I am still doing Protein shakes. Tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad. I'm worried though, b/c I'm hungry now. ugh. I need more ideas.
  21. Good luck to you. They didn't deny me, so maybe you'll get lucky too.
  22. Hi ladies, I wanted to pop in and say I got my band on 10/24 and am filling good. Although no restriction, but I think I'm eating less. I'm starting to walk around.
  23. Did your dr. talk to you about doing liquids after a fill? I'd start now for sure, make sure you are taking it easy.
