  1. 35lbs overweight and claims to be an educated doctor. sniff sniff I smell a troll too.
  2. do a search online for them. Also, call coffee places and ask. Many have a catalog for you to order.
  3. Look what my thread started, all these Illinois banders!! After reading a lot on here, I start seeing what I do as an eater. I think the biggest thing the band can do for me is hopefully stop this non full feeling or satiety. I eat way too much food. I think when I got married I ate to keep up. So stupid. ugh.
  4. If you go to the main menu of the talk you'll see faq section. IT's really helpful!! I'm in the same boat, so I just searched this site, tons of information. See if that helps!
  5. Congratulations!! I'm originally from Gardner, Kansas, which is very close to Olathe.
  6. Mothers! what can you do. I'm assuming she's extremely jealous and I have also found with my mother that as she ages she becomes more self centered. she seems to be pretty self absorbed and having issues. I'd sit down with her and have a heart to heart. Use "I" words. I feel.... when you say that I feel... Good luck.
  7. I am not banded yet, but I'm assuming as soon as your dr. allows you to exercise, you should just start back doing the low impact routines. I'm not sure about the floor work though? Interesting thing to ask though!
  8. Oh I'm all about asking questions, hence asking this one I hope that eventually after losing some weight and working out more that my joints would feel better. I just worried about headaches and the pain right after surgery when you aren't losing much yet.
  9. medicine can you use after the band? I have painful knees and get back pain. After you have the band are you unable to have Advil? I know I've read this somewhere and I can't find it. Any ideas? Or links?
  10. Thanks Wannababy! Good to know! We'll see.
  11. Hope it stays put and I hope that lump is nothing too.
  12. I'm sorry he is not supportive and he's controlling. If he is that way he will not enjoy your independence or the fact that you are achieving a goal to be healthier. He will try to sabotage you in your efforts. YOu'll eventually need to decide your breaking point and what you'll put up with. I think you are very strong and courageous to do what you need and to have such an obstacle. I'm glad your boss and your mother are there for you, lean on them. I think you deserve more from a partner and it saddens me that you have to deal with this. Stay strong!
  13. Congratulations and welcome! I'm still in the pre-op stage. Make sure to take care of yourself!
  14. I haven't been banded yet, but wondered about drinking the fluids. do you sip it through a straw? or just sip out of bottle, tiny? or bigger?
  15. well they sent in my info, but i'm stressing b/c I think I missed a month by a day. My entire family had the flu , like never been so sick, and i couldn't get into till day 2 of the next month. I'm worried they'll deny me. so i plan to keep up with the gen. prac. until i get approved. sigh. we should do a meet up once we all get banded.
  16. WOW! let those insurance gods grant me the same wish!! Congrats!

  18. friends don't treat friends that way, and honestly it doesn't sound overly Christian of her. I think she needs to be more open to you and I hope she comes around, b/c we all need the support. thank you for sharing your story.
  19. Hi! and welcome. I wish I had more people to talk to also. My dh is very supportive, but he just doesn't want to chat about it a lot? You know, he knows Im the research queen and will over search, so he just waits til the end. lol welcome!
  20. Hi, I'm new here too! I'm still waiting to find out if insurance will cover it!
  21. Dr. Rohrscheib in Clinton, IL. Hey Rochester, has that great kids closet place, right? Right out of springfield?? very cool. Who will be doing yours? I have bcbs of IL, we'll see.
