  1. I got this recipe from another bander on here shortly after I was banded and I LOVE this Protein shake. I modified it somewhat. 1 scoop of CHAMPION Pure whey banana Scream (130 calories, 2.5g fat, 3g carbs, 23g protein, 1g fiber) 4-5 oz cold Water (or skim milk if you prefer) 1/2 frozen banana (72 calories, 18.5 carbs, 0.9 protein, 2.1 fiber) 4-5 frozen mango pieces (3/4 c = 90 calories, 24 carbs, >1g protein, 3g fiber) 1 T High Lignan 100% organic Flax Oil, a great way to get your Omega-3 fatty acids (110 calories, 1g fiber) (ice cubes optional) This is a great Protein Drink snack for after a good workout session. ENJOY!!!
  2. PB'ing is "Productive Burp" what you just ate comes back up like a vomit only it does not have that nasty sour vomit smell or taste. I did it for the first time Sunday because I ate a pkg'd. dry meatball and it refused to go down and gave me fits for almost 30 minutes. I was praying that it would come up and it did. I was still gross as it felt like chewed food with slime. Sorry to be so graphic. Just chew your food up really really good.
  3. GREAT post from someone who obviously has had success with the band. I am 5 months post op and have lost 46 lbs. My last fill after Thanksgiving was when I reached in my opinion, "my sweet spot". I do NOT eat just 1/2 cup of food either but what I eat is much less than what i did prior to being banded. I eat well proportioned meals. For instance for dinner last night I ate baked chicken legs, apsaragus and a sm yam. I was very satisfied after that meal and couldn't think of eating another thing after that. It certainly wasn't 1/2 cup of food, but I continue to see results. Must have something to do with exercising also. Thanks for your posts...I always seem to enjoy and learn from yours.
  4. Quick question, was your port tenderness constant or intermittant? I have port tenderness on occasion and sometimes the way I'm lying in bed I feel the tenderness around my port. If I turn over to the other side, it feels better. Not a nagging constant pain though. Thanks!
  5. As with ANY weight loss program, exercise and diet are the 2 main keys for significant and sustainable weight loss, aside from our mental ability. It boils down to "motivation" and how big your want to is. Our wonderful bands are to be used as a "tool" only. Our part is to recognize whether we are not restricted enough, too restricted or have good restriction, plan our meals to eat smaller portions consisting of lower calories, higher protein, lower carbs and a sufficient amount of fiber to keep our bowels moving, drinking the daily amount of H2O, getting on a regular workout plan (ideally something you enjoy). These are just a few things we must do to keep ourselves accountable. It's not easy, but worth the work. When you discipline yourself to do what is hard, you gain access to a realm of results that are denied everyone else. The willingness to do what is difficult is like having a key to a special private treasure room. Good luck in your weight loss endeavor.
  6. As a relatively new bander (5 months post op) who has lost 46 lbs, I must say I LOVE THIS POST! What an inspiration you are!!! Continue to shine girl!!!
  7. Had it before surgery, haven't had it since surgery, THANK GOD!!!
  8. As others have said, my ONLY regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I LOVE my band!
  9. You probably shouldn't have had all of your previous fill taken out. Half may have done it for you. Good luck with that.
  10. I have 5 scars and they have diminished a little but still very noticeable. I'm 5 months post op.
  11. That's so disgusting! Healthy Poop is not suppose to be watery like that, that's diarrhea; it's suppose to be loosely compacted; fiberous; easy to break up.
  12. Eat more foods rich in fiber and drink more water.
  13. It sounds like you are TOO tight if all you can eat is 2 pieces of bacon and you felt like throwing up. You will become malnourished if this isn't corrected. Consider having a little removed. Although I PB'd today, I have the perfect restriction yet I'm able to get a well proportioned meal down without feeling like I want to throw up.
  14. I have posted on this thread before and as I said before I HATE to throw up; however, today I went to the grocery store and they had samples of different foods. I was soooooo hungry after leaving church that I decided to try a meatball. It was so good that I took the coupon and bought a bag. When I got home, still savoring the memory of that meatball I ate at the store, I heated some up in the microwave. WRONG thing to do!!!!! I proceeded to eat 2 and got stuck so bad and for so long that I was praying to throw that mess up. After about 20 -30 mins it finally came up and much to my surprise, it was completely different than a sour stomach throw up. It tasted like the food I had just eaten but only it was mixed with slime. Even though it's different, it's still GROSS and I don't plan on doing it again. So, I have officially had my 1st PB, for whatever that's worth.
  15. I do and it hasn't bothered me. But as with anything else, consult you Dr.
  16. I have been banded now for 4 months and for the first time this month I experienced this. I had a difficult time eating green beans chewed up. I want to say it was 1 -2 days before I actually came on that I was so tight I could hardly eat. I had problems with so many foods that day. It passed as soon as I came on though. I had read about this before being banded and after banding I was quite concerned about it. It never happened and I guess I took it for granted. It's crazy how that happens.
  17. I agree with Peanutband, I wish I had done it sooner. My band is my best friend. Congrats!
  18. I found Mylanta to help me. I'm glad I'm not alone.
  19. I think it's very spa like; at least the one I go to. They play spa music and a candle is lit, but not sound proof. No noise is being made other than the gurgling sound the water emptying from the tank, but I don't think I've ever heard that coming from the room next to me.
  20. Sound Proof rooms in the Colon Hydrotherapy rooms? No need, the person in the next room is doing the same thing "POOPING" and anyone in there knows what's going on in those rooms. But it is funny the things you think when you see someone who just came out; like "I sure hope they washed their hands" is the question I have in my mind. I touch NOTHING after a colonic but toilet paper for the obvious, paper towels to turn on/off the faucet to wash my hands and kleenex to open the door.
  21. Yes I have and I love them. I have never asked the therapist about poop floating or sinking, but will on my next visit. A "hose" LOL...you're funny. BTW, $60 is a steal of a deal; I pay $650 for 10 which isn't bad, but for 1 it's $75.
  22. No I've never tried that but Fage Greek Yogurt is great! Very high in protein per serving and it's creamy for your stage after clear liquids. I'm not sure what your Dr. recommends after surgery, but mine was clear liquids for the first 48 hours, then pureed for 2 weeks, soft for 2 weeks then to normal. I even ate pureed Wendy's chili and it was delicious. Applesauce, protein drinks, SF puddings etc... Congrats on your surgery. The band is my best friend.
  23. If all your are consuming is liquid, I would think your waste would be liquid. Of course I'm no expert at this Poop thing, I just know it's necessary. I just want to know "what is a healthy poop"? BTW, how are you feeling 14 days post op? Congrats!
  24. I didn't mean to gross anyone out, but it's all about our health right? That means we should have a healthy diet so we can have a healthy BM and not something that's gonna take days to occur or be hard little balls which indicate constipation. I'm just trying to find out what the happy medium is? Some of your replies have CRACKED me up. I certainly wouldn't recommend googling this at work though unless of course you're in the medical profession. Give this some thought or talk to a Dr you may know and get back with me. It would be interesting to get a medical perspective on this fecal matter. I found this article below, but it still doesn't tell me if poop should float or sink and other articles give conflicting answers? I've been eating NO animal products for almost a month and my poop sinks. I've heard that it floats if you consume alot of animal product but I know a personal trainer and a good friend that SWEARS that it should float. Did you poop today? Healthy Poop & Stools
