Does anyone have regrets?

I have been researching the band for about 3 months. I have only attended a seminar and am scheduling my consult this week I am very interested in this procedure and hope it is right for me. So far I have only found great things and satisfied people so I am wondering if anyone regrets having the Lapband and why? Thank you in advance!

You might want to check out the Complications forum. That's where the people with regrets tend to hang out.

I had my band surgery a little over 8 months ago and I LOVE IT!!!!! The one and only regret I have is that I did not do it sooner. I wish I would have done this a long time ago. I have lost a total of 71 lbs and feeling wonderful. So Good Luck and best wishes on your decision.

As others have said, my ONLY regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I LOVE my band!

No regrets here! Love it!

My regret was that I allowed myself to get in such a heavy state that I needed the band, regret and guilt.........

The band has been very helpful in turning these feelings around with weight loss. I, too, wish Id done it sooner!

I posted in the intro area but am new....know nothing at this point...and can't find my own post. Can you help me get started here?

Go to your 'used cp' which is located at the top of the screen and it will take you to your dashboard where you can see everything you have posted. It is a great area in which you can change your signature, add friends and find all of your posts and threads. Good luck!

Welcome to LBT, Kellie.

I've had my band almost four months, and I have zero regrets. I feel much better and look better than I have in years.

The band does require some work on your part. You have to make good food choices, listen to your doctor and follow his/her diet recommendations, get fills as needed, exercise is a plus, some people have to give up certain foods that don't do well with the band (for me, the only thing I've given up is soda and beer except for an occasional sip on rare occasions due to carbonation, but I haven't had any problems with other foods), etc.

The best thing you can do is research the band to make an informed decision, and it looks like that's exactly what you're doing. Good luck!!

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I still can not find anything negitive. I guess it is time for me to move forward and take the plunge. TY

Thanks! It may take a bit to know my way around this site. I will be having my surgery very close the time you are having yours. Our weight, height and goals are very close as well. I see the psychologist tomorrow but they estimate that I could be having the surgery either at the beginning or middle of March. I'm excited, but nervous. How about you?

I have no regrets. I even feel like i am cheating in a way....meaning this is way to easy, its like a get out of jail free card. i thought when i had it done 8 months ago, "this is going to be hard, i might fail", hahahahah, i was so wrong, the band is easy, dont be worried, the only thing i regret was not doing it sooner, i was always fat and had poor diet, i went from 380 to 293ish in 8 months. i work out 4-5 times a week, and do not cheat on my diet. this life changing procedure is worth it. the only regrets people have are the mistakes they made in the pasy, having the band gives you the tools to re-build yourself. it gives you a second chance few people have gotten in the past. we are lucky to live in an age where this procedure is possible. Please....i hope you do well."IF THE ROAD IS EASY....THE DESTINATION IS NOT WORTH THE WALK"-FuriousAbyss1947
