  1. My husband found this at Walmart. I have seen the frozen riced cauliflower but this is not frozen. It’s like the microwave rice and jt just takes one minute. It was bland but good after I added spices.
  2. My husband found this at Walmart so I had to try it for lunch with my leftover kabobs from last night. Wasn’t bad at all. I know a lot of you like to make things from scratch but just a heads up for busy days.
  3. If you ever really look at a size chart they make more sizes for smaller people. There are more inches in waist and hip size between the larger sizes than the smaller ones.
  4. I would call and ask your surgeon if you need to be concerned.
  5. I wasn’t at that stage on thanksgiving but I can suggest you try one new thing at a time so if it doesn’t agree you will know what it was that didn’t. Some others have mentioned the pumpkin pie filling.
  6. congratulations to you and all the January surgery dates.
  7. Congratulations, you look great.
  8. Hello and congratulations on your surgery date.
  9. I do not know one in your area but some doctors do perform the surgery on people with lower BMI in certain instances. I would just get out the directory and call around telling them you will be self pay. And if you have no luck try to solicit the help of your primary or gynocologist to advocate for you or your doctor for your thyroid maybe.
  10. I did the same thing but honestly it was a waste. Had I not done that I’d be at goal already. Many of us do have at least a last supper though. Lol. Just know that for most of us we can eat all the same foods post sleeve. Just in moderation and much smaller portions. So you will be not having certain foods during weight loss but once you get to maintenance you will be able have them again. Honestly I do not have any food that I was told not to have. Just to make healthy choices.
  11. You will Figure out that magic balance between the two. At least you realized it now, you can do this.
  12. Use an egg slicer and dice them up like your going to make eggs salad and then chew it.
  13. I second the Ambien warning. I took that stuff and went to the store (drove myself) having no recollection of it. Scary stuff.
  14. The rule of thumb around here is its best to follow YOUR plan and listen to YOUR team. Best thing I did is to read the paperwork start to Finish Writing down questions as I went but then going back And taking it step by step reading just a little ahead as I progressed. It can be a bit overwhelming to try to learn it all 100% ahead of time. Perhaps this will work for you too.
  15. For me the pre op diet was the hardest part because post surgery I have zero hunger aside from head hunger. At 8 months out I eat more than 1000 calories most days. I have more like 1200. I am losing still, slowly, but I am 11 pounds from a normal BMI now. Some people at this stage have a calorie goal and some have as few as 6-800 calories I have seen on here but for me this works and my team is happy with my progress. Your team should give you a goal that is realistic and will work for you.
  16. Yay, that’s awesome ?
  17. Once you start eating some actual food it will be easier. Are you allowed soup now and pudding. Those two things are good to sneak in some unflavored protein powder to decrease the need for shakes.
  18. You should be able to find the protein water in stores. Also, The unflavored protein powder such as genepro mixes in pudding and soups and stuff depending on what you are allowed to have
  19. Wow. That’s a lot of surgery in a short time. I’m sure your hormones are all over the place. And an anniversary of a loss doesn’t help at all. Good for you for reaching out. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
  20. Congratulations and good luck on reaching your new goal.
  21. I agree that a bariatric therapist would be helpful to you with or without surgery. The surgery is a tool. The smaller stomach and the decreased hunger hormones help but the head hunger will remain lost surgery and you have to get that under control for this to be the most successful. I am only learning post surgery that I have these issues so I am now doing the work that you can do pre surgery and you will be ahead of the game.
  22. If you have emotional eating issues a bariatric therapist may be a helpful component to your success. The surgery is just a tool. Smaller stomach And decreased hunger hormones help but head hunger will remain and we have to learn to control it. I am an emotional/boredom eater and while I am still losing weight I struggle with my food choices daily. I believe this will be a lifelong struggle for me. To answer your question I am 8 months out and I have sampled all the foods I used to eat and I can tolerate them. But I will choose not have them again until maintenance as I know That they will not help me lose weight. Like mentioned above dumping is more of an issue with Sadi than with the sleeve so really high fat and high sugar foods may give You issues. But from what I understand people who have issues with these foods develop aversions to them so I don't think you Crave them anymore so you don’t really miss them. Maybe someone who has dumping Issues can weigh in about that.
