275 To Lose
I know exactly where you coming from. I too have about 250llbs to lose. It seems really overwhelming so i have decided to break it down into intervals of 50. If I think about it that way it makes it a little less stressful. It's scary when you really don't have anyone in your family life that can relate. This place has become so important to me because of the support. Good luck hun and keep in touch.

What's a good way to meet a guy? Do guys actually like bigger girls?
I have had a weight problem most of my life. As I reached my teen years I become more aware of my weight problem. With this I felt less and less confident and eventually I gave up hope of ever finding "someone." I went through my phases of crushes and people you talk to and when I was 16 I started dating someone who was 20. He was gorgeous and confident, 150 lbs, but I never really liked him as more than a friend. I think I was so scared that I was missing out on something I would never have the option to have again. I knew all along it was not right but I dated him for 2 years anyway. Throughout our relationship he put me down, told me how I wasn't good enough for him, and why don't I just go on a diet.( I think I have been on a diet since I was 10...lol) I finally got so sick of it I broke up with him only to find that he was cheating on me the whole time. Later that year I met a guy at work and we became best friends. I was so in love with him but was afraid to initiate a relationship because of what I had already gone through. He eventually ended up asking me out and we have been together ever since. He is everything I could ever ask for, and he supports me 100%. He is not a "big" guy, and he is very athletic. I always tell myself that there are good people out there who are accepting and can love someone no matter what. Hold your head high hunny, and remember that you are worth finding someone who is going to treat you like you deserve. Again like it was said before , I have looked at you pictures and you have nothing to worry about. You are a beautiful girl.:grouphug:

Got banded 12/25
I also was prescribed pills. The doctor said that pills are fine as long as they are smaller then an m&m. If I were you I would try and if they do not go down well I would call the doctors office. Good luck everyone

anyone have this problem?
In May 2008 I developed swelling in my legs and feet, ( not lymphedema) with no real reason for it. After going to the doctor I was diagnosed with glomerulonephritis. Glomerulonephritis is typically caused by an infection in the body such as a virus. I am on an ace inhibitor, and a Water pill in order to help my kidneys secrete Protein and decrease some of the Fluid build up in my limbs. Mine has gotten better over the last couple of months and the nephrologist claims that with significant weight loss this condition will work it self out of my body. My question is there anyone else on here that has gone through this or still experiencing it, and has weight loss helped them with the symptoms? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I had my surgery on 11/14 as well and I feel like my insides are being ripped out to. I have so much pressure that I can't sleep, lay down, or sit straight up. I can t wait for this to be better!!!!! lol

Surgery was 11/14
Congrats on your surgery going well!! I too had mine the 14th. I have to say I am miserable. Between the gas pain and being so tired, I'm probably not the nicest person to be around. Well glad to hear your doing well. Keep up the goos work.

What kind of razor do you use?
I actually use a men's razor. Mach 3 I believe. I am highly allergic to shaving cream so I have tried everything as well. What seems to work the best for me is called coochy cream it is a shaving cream from athenas home novelties. It's the best.

not new here, but banded now!
Hey hun, I'm sure right now everything seems overwhelming. This whole process is a life change. you are now physically forced to give up something that you have depended on for so long, it's scary , but you will make it. You definitely want to make sure you are getting your protein in though, it will help with the hunger. Without enough protein you will not lose weight, and thats something you don't want to happen. give this some time to run it's course before you totally give up. Keep your head up and good luck.:smile2:
