Hungry
I dont think everyone loses that appetite and some who lose it get it back after awhile. I had bypass last Sept. I also felt hunger but when I spoke about it with close friends and family who had the surgery before me, they told me it was just "head hunger". I was given the advice to drink water when I felt this head hunger. It was hard for first couple of weeks and after that, I didnt feel head hunger anymore.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
Maybe labeling as slow loser is not so much self defeating but rather a soothing way to accept that we don't lose at the same pace. And losing as much as our bodies will allow is still good. When there are those that post they lost 60 pounds in 2 months and ask why they are slow losers; that's definitely dismormphic and maybe makes others who are losing at a normal pace wonder if they are the slow losers. But you have others like fatboy slim who just advise people who aren't as quick to lose, to just eat less (which just isn't helpful). Then he assumes all these people on here must be lying about their calorie intake because stalls and slow weight loss isn't a part of his world. Having someone who is not struggling tell you that you must be to blame for your slower loss......that is defeating. Not venting at you, just to you. I just needed to get another perspective out there.

Has anyone figured out a good way to get the bubble layer out of our protein isolate shakes?
Premake the night before. That stuff will settle and just stir it with a spoon or lightly shake.

THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD
Great analogy, tortoise and the hare and great outlook as well. I'm definitely in this slow losers club. I hit my 3 month stall and the scale hasn't moved for 3 weeks now. I'm still eating between 500 and 800 calories a day. I hit my protein goal every day and I have significantly upped my water intake to 100-120 oz a day now. I mountain hike 5 miles at a time, 3 times a week and do yoga twice a week. I know it will come off. It has to. It does get frustrating though. But I'm a tortoise not a hare; I will finish strong not fast. Thanks GreenTealael Xoxoxo

This question is for the ladies ?
Periods went wonky after surgery. They were extremely irregular and I was having them every 2 weeks post op. I seem to be regulating now 3 months post op and they are only lasting 3 to 4 days instead of 5 to 7 before.

Im not losing weight
Some of our drs release us to soft food after 2 weeks. This is more than likely a typical stall at this stage.

ITCHING
Yes I was too. I upped my water intake from 64 oz to 100 oz a day and I use Nivea skin firming lotion after every shower. It seems to work because I am no longer itchy and my skin looks and feels amazing.

Does anybody know how long rny patients have to take Opmeprizole?
I have to take it everyday for 1 year. I don't get heartburn and didnt before surgery but the doctor wants all his patients on it for 1 year, then reevaluate after that.

Gastric sleeve 12/13/19
I do eat rice occasionally, typically with sushi but I didnt start until couple months after surgery.

Dizziness in the shower?
I dont have any advice. This also happens to me on occasion. Hot water and low blood pressure seems to be the ingredients to this issue or has for me anyway. I try to take cooler showers and that seems to help. Here is a link. https://hubpages.com/health/Why-Are-People-More-Likely-To-Feel-Dizzy-After-A-Shower

CALLING ALL MEN !!!! CALLING ALL MEN!
You're doing fantastic! The results are really impressive. Keep up the hard work and you'll break that stall.

Schedule of Foods
I didnt start soft food diet until two weeks after surgery. I can tell you on a liquid diet, I mixed up protien shakes and/or milk with yogurt and pudding.
-
When did you guys start the gym?
I was cleared for cardio right after surgery. Weights was 2 weeks after. I'm not big on the gym scene but I love long distance nature hikes. I generally hike 20 to 30 miles per week.

I'm constantly hungry 10 days post op, is this normal?
Head hunger. Everytime you think you're hungry. Drink some liquid. I had the same issue after surgery

Have any of you dumped on purpose?
I tried a couple bites of cake a few days ago on my son's birthday. I didn't having dumping but I did have cramping and just an overall terrible feeling. It lasted about 20 minutes then I was fine. It's not worth it to me to even try again. After 3 months of no sugar, the cake was just too sweet to enjoy the taste anyway.

How to get rid of your big clothes
Good will for sure. Gave some to my moms friend. My poor closet looks bare. Husbands clothes are all packed together. I have a few garments hanging up. Looks like I left my husband in a hurry and only left the clothes I didnt want. Lol.

How much weight did you loose your first month after surgery?
17 pounds first month. Then hit a stall that lasted couple weeks. I'm 3 months post op now and down 50 pounds.

Good!
Been eating sushi since about 8 weeks post op. Can only have 3 pieces because it fills me up fast. The rice is a huge filler so I dont eat rice that often. I usually pick off the rice and eat the fish and goodies.
