  1. I'm not sure if I'm a slow looser yet but I do believe I'm in bandsters hell. I was banded 10/13 and have lost 10 lbs since then. A little slow don't ya think? I have an appointment with my doc on 11/19 and I'll fill him in on my food plan and weight loss. I'm not sure why the scale isn't moving. I have ALOT to go. I just thought the first few weeks the pounds would melt like butter. And as for eating regular food, I think maybe I can eat more than I should. I'll just have to hear what the doctor has to say.
  2. Are they available anymore! When I try to get on I get a message that tells me to download Java which I did. Then when I tried to get in the chat room the same message appeared. What do I do now?
  3. Is something wrong with the chat room? I haven't been able to acess it for days.
  4. At work I weigh myself daily but I only take the number on "weigh-in Wednesday" seriously. This way I see what's going on but I don't freak out daily.
  5. looseweightin08, Again, congrats and thanks for giving out your "how I did it" map. Everything you wrote has been written before, but it's nice to know that it's the real deal and it is doable. When we follow the doctor's instructions and get great suggestions from our friends on the board, WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!!!!!
  6. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! This will be me one day (I say over and over again to myself!). PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, post any favorite food meals, snacks, etc. Thanks for your help and inspiration!!
  7. Oh, dear. I'm greatful that people responded but this wasn't really what I wanted (lol)!! Let's hope more "seasoned" members of the board read this post and share their experences with us. And yes, absolutely, let's keep an eye on each other. The more buddies I have the better!!
  8. I was just banded on Oct. 13 so I'm new at this. I was wondering if you could post what your restriction/sweet spot feels like. I thought I had restriction but it was gas!! Now I'm not sure what I'm feeling inside me. Someone mentioned in the chat room that you feel like you're going to throw up. Is this the same for everybody? Thanks!!
  9. newcreature, I won't jump all over you like a kindergarden child yelling "will you be my friend?" , but that's just what I want to do!! Your experience is a almost mirror of mine. I am 50, banded this past Monday, and agree I needed more than two or three days off. I want to drop 100 - 110#. I know this is possible. My challenge now is to figure out if I'm hungry or having gas pains!! Good luck with your journey. Keep posting.
  10. jetti, it's so good to see someone else from NJ and banded by Dr. Bertha! My band date was 10/13. Feeling a little light headed and tired. I thought I escaped the gas thing but I didn't. The pain I'm having is not the surgery cuts but gas, so I'm walking, walking, walking....... You're loosing weight at a great rate. I'm sure you'll make your 100# by 11/6. Good luck.
  11. I weigh myself almost everyday. But the only day that counts is my "weigh-in Wednesday". That's the day I take what the scale says as the truth.
  12. downsdc, What is the name of the unflavored protein powder that you are using and is it REALLY unflavored? Thanks a bunch.
  13. It was my history. How many surgerys have I had and when. What medical problems do I have now? What weight loss programs have I been on and how successful was I? They also asked about my family, i.e. medical history of bros, sis, mom, dad. It really wasn't that bad and as I said before I want to get a copy of it from my surgeon so I don't have to wrack my brain trying to remember everything if I ever have to answer these questions again. Good luck!!
  14. I didn't really have to fill out a survey. It was more like a History and Physical record. It was quite extensive and complete. So much so I'm thinking of asking my surgeon for a copy of it so I can keep it with me in case I need to tell another doctor about my past or the past of any family member.
  15. What protein drink/powder is unflavored? I tried the isopure liquid and it was awful. Does someone make a real tasteless protien powder/liquid?
  16. Yea you is right!! Always good to hear from people who come through the struggle. You guys are the true inspirations. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Central New Jersey. My date is Oct. 14 with Drs. Bertha and Abkin.
  18. PaulaTx, This is great news! As much as I LOVE to read about fast weight loss banders, I think the best for me is the ones who get through the struggle. No weight loss for a while and then BAMM!! It is true "slow and steady" win the race. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Aquestion for pre- and post-op clear liquids. Can you use protein powder or do you just rely on the protein in the broth you drink? Thank you. I'm being banded Oct. 14 and I thought I had a handle on all of this. The closer I get the more questions pop into my mind!
  20. Hol-lie!! Hol-lie!! Hol-lie!! WAY TO GOOOOO!!
  21. I know what I'm going to be; the sexiest witch this side of heaven!!
  22. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've put it on my favorite list so I can access it over again. Sometimes I miss things the first time around!!
  23. RestlessMonkey, Thank you for that explanation. I''ll keep it in mind when my turns come up to be banded. I never knew why is was THAT important to be on clears, then full-liquids; now I know. This board is terrific. I tell everyone I know about it. We really learn and share so much.
  24. Your just amazing. Glad to know you.
  25. Kiki, LOL. You think times goes fast now? Wait till you have a baby! The little rug rats are really calenders in diapers! I just can't believe I have a 19 yr old when i still feel 23 yrs old myself....
