  1. What a GREAT idea!! Strength in numbers!! Good luck to all!! MyTurn....250....240....0 I do "weigh-in Wednesday". I weigh myself M - F but only go by Wednesday morning number. I'll update on Aug. 13.
  2. Congratulations! All the best to you!! It's really nice to feel that I want something that another person has but no jealousy involved. I am truly happy for everyone who gets banded and I can't wait for MyTurn. I hope everyone who wants to improve themselves (espically their health) can be approved and successful with this tool.
  3. God bless!! Hope it's everything you want it to be. Speedy recovery and successful weight loss to you!
  4. What is PCOS?
  5. I'm not sure where to post this question but here goes. Can you be banded if you have an ulcer? Thanks.
  6. How do you change the ticker tape? I've lost a few pounds but I don't know how to update. Thanks!
  7. For 7/23 -- breakfast: liquid protein with 16 oz. crystal light; lunch: large salad with about 2 oz. of thin sliced corned beef chopped up and 2 tbs. of mayo; afternoon snack: small apple then I got home and went mildly crazy with two pieces of American cheese and one slice of light bologna; dinner: 2 slices of pizza and 16 oz diet coke. Dinner is hard. I need to plan better. I can't eat a salad at dinner if I had one for lunch. Just to much.
  8. Snapdragon, Sending you the BIGGEST YEA!! I can call out. I'm so happy for you. Please share some of your meal plans. I need alot of help. Thanks and God bless.
  9. OK, today's food post. Breakfast: Liquid protein in 16 oz of Crystal light, lunch: skinless, boneless chicken breast with applesauce and 16 oz seltzer, afternoon snack: banana and 6 pieces of melon, dinner: large pickel slice, about 2 oz of corned beef, 6 slices of boiled potato w/butter (not much). Just finished another banana for evening snack. Wish I liked fruit more.
  10. Freetofly, Knock it off. You know who you are. Just TRY to take small steps to bring her out into the open. Stop dwelling on food. Start knitting baby blankets and take them to the hospital. Invite girls over to have their nails done twice a month. Coffee and tea only. I know this is easier said than done, but start small. PLAN, PLAN, PLAN. I know I posted yesturday and I messed up big time but today was better. I planned. I had the right food in the house and knew what I could purchase at work. What are you eating tonight? What will you eat tomorrow? One day at a time; one meal at a time and the right snacks in between. God bless you.
  11. Well, I want to start posting my food for the day. I need to put it out there. My breakfast was 16 oz crystal light with protein liquid. Lunch was 8 oz non-fat milk with one cup yogurt, blended with one scoop of protein whey. Afternoon snack was medium banana. Dinner was the big fall out. Burger King, burger with FF, and diet coke; then two devil dogs. That's it for the day. I was close today, but tomorrow is another day for success. Good luck to us all.
  12. My awakening happened when I just decided to stop dieting. It didn't work. Loose 2 lbs., gain 4. Just rediculous. Then when I heard about the lap band I got interested. I took me 11 months to come to this decision but I made it. Now I'm praying for a Sept. surgery date and looking forward for me and the band to become best buddies.
  13. Wonderful!! Tell us more......
  14. I haven't been banded yet but I am sold on the idea. As the other posters said this is a tool. What great things can be done with the right tools!! A good food plan, the right tools, exercise, and this web site will help you succeed. Good luck and keep posting and reading.
  15. I'm sending you congrats from my feet up. Good job. Any hints or suggestions (specifically what you ate) you can share with us unbanded folks? I just can't wait for this.
  16. Ohhhhhhh, I'm so jealous! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait!! (But I know I have too.)
  17. Janet, How wonderful for you and for all of us! You sharing your story, your pictures, and accomplishments are helpful and supportive. I will write the same story one day.
  18. Just a thought. What do you want your goal weight to be? When would you like this? Maybe you can take the 85 lbs. and divide it by the number of weeks you have to get to your goal date. Example: loose 85 lbs by June 2009. That's 50 weeks from now. Loose 1.7 per week or 6.9 lbs per month and you'll reach goal by June 2009. BEST of luck to you!!
  19. Life is tuff but God is tuffer. Let's all pray for each other and enjoy God's roller coaster.
  20. Jennifer, you don't suck. Your right, it takes time. My nutritionist stressed PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE. Have the right things in the house that you can grab if you feel yourself falling into bad habits. Do you have a "band buddy"? I'm not banded yet but I do. And she's not banded either. Keep on moving forward and keep on reading this board. If your head is in a winning place, your body will follow.
  21. Yea!! Please keep us posted.
  22. This might not belong on the board, so please accept it as a shout out of support through this time. When I think things are lost I say a prayer to St. Anthony (patron Saint of lost items). It helps.
  23. lol! A poster after my own heart!! I haven't been banded yet, but my nutritionist told me absolutly NO BEER! So, my husband told me I'll just have to change my drink to whiskey!!
  24. Very happy for you!! Hope all goes well. As a non-banded person, I rely on the banded folks here for info about pre-op and post-op steps. Please keep us posted.
  25. Whoo Hoo!! I'm back. Now I know how to follow posts!! So, Jbrod, how you doing?
