Frustrated with NYU Office

Sorry, but I have to vent a bit...I saw the surgeon on May 15th. Set July 1st as a surgery date. Went from pre-op tests already and have been on the pre-surgical liquid diet for one week now...my insurance company has no record of a request for authorization for surgery. I know that there is only one person doing insurance submissions at NYU, but I am one week away and still have no idea if this going forward. I've read many posts about how people find out the insurance company denied coverage the day before surgery. I am so nervous about getting denied. (More nervous about getting denied than the surgery). This is making me CRAZY.

that must feel so incredibly frustrating.

silly questions but....did you call the folks @ nyu? i know they can be a little abrupt a times--but perhaps you can check in with them and see what's up?

i'm sure everything will work out -- let us know how it foes.

This might not belong on the board, so please accept it as a shout out of support through this time.

When I think things are lost I say a prayer to St. Anthony (patron Saint of lost items). It helps.

Thanks to all for the support. They are very difficult to reach by phone. I use email and usually get a response. I did send a note last night and I found out this morning that the request for approval was submitted today and surgery is scheduled for one week from today.

oh, phew. glad it was submitted. keep us posted on the approval status and if you need anything pre/post op.

xoxo

thanks for the support. Keeping my fingers crossed that all will be approved and I'll be able to have surgery on the 1st. I'll keep you posted!
