  1. I don't think I would have made it to surgery without the help from you all, I was afraid as well. I feel great 2.5 weeks post-op and 20 lbs down. YES!! You are so kind as well. I always enjoy reading your posts
  2. Ok...I just need to say this because it bothers me. I've been on Bariatricpal for almost 5 months, I read a lot of posts and I've received a wealth of information here and truly appreciate members taking out time to answer questions, attaching research articles to back up their statements, comforting, encouraging and the list goes on. Some of the people that are asking for help DO NOT EVEN have the decency to respond back to the people that are taking their time out to answer questions, some just post a question and seem to dissapear?? Really. I really don't give advice here because I'm still a work in progress and I am one of those that do ask questions from time to time and I really appreciate each and everyone of you for taking the time out to respond back when you are just as busy as the rest of us are. PLEASE PEOPLE do not just be takers....show your appreciation to the ones responding by at least acknowledging that you did read their response...These are people that have been through the process and understand it!! we are tying to get to where they are. I APPRECIATE YOU!! You know who you are
  3. @Frustr8 the wal-mart closest to me didn’t have those but I will check another one. Thanks
  4. @frustr8 I’m so sorry that you had a couple of bad days, it’s called trial and error, we will find out what our new pouches like and dislike as we go along our journey...you said even after all of that you still have no regrets...you rock!! Stay positive my friend and we shall succeed ??
  5. @Frustr8 where did you find pineapple sf popsicles? I love pineapple, I can only find the standard ones, red, orange and purple. ?
  6. This goes to show how each surgeon is so different. Below is what my Team allows after week 4.
  7. @sillykitty Thank you! That is good to know, hopefully I will get over it soon to.
  8. Hi...I’m almost 3 weeks post op, sleeved on 8/29/18 and feeling great. Before surgery I never really burped/belched, It happens when I am full from eating a meal, I’m glad that I have that sign to let me know, but I feel the restriction as well. My Team advanced me to the soft stage by the way...Just curious if this is going to be a part of the new normal for me? Lol ? Even with the burping this is by far the best decision ever!!
  9. @JuliaC110918 omg yes I had the same thing! I immediately called the nurse at my doctors office and asked what did they use down there and she said maybe some of the iodine used to sterilize the surgery area may have dripped down there, she suggested that I use the baby rash cream desitin and it worked. Same scenario as you, I noticed it a day or two after I got home from the hospital.
  10. Find a new doctor who will support your weight loss surgery, my doctor was very happy for me when I told her I wanted to have WLS as she should be because she knows how hard I was struggling with trying to lose weight on my own and all of my medical issues. You pay him not the other way around...just my opinion because I’m a no nonsense person, I have no problem changing if they are not supporting me...the insurance company has enough requirements, you don’t need more on top of that. maybe others here have some better suggestions. I wish you the best!
  11. @GreenTealael your story is so touching and it shows how courageous you are. You took your life back and got in control...everyone has a story, maybe one day I’ll have the courage to share mine. Thank you for being so open and honest.
  12. @GreenTealael Yes you are pretty in both but I’m sure you feel better in the second one health wise...those collar bones though ?
  13. @TX4everLinds it does get better. I’m 11 days post-op and I can pretty much drink normal after about day 6 or 7. I take sips of water every few minutes and sometimes even sooner. Just keep trying and you will get there. I wish you all the best
  14. @neversaynever I love this article so much and I agree with every word. Thank you for sharing it ??
  15. @Jingle123423 as for the protein, although I had my booklet given to me from my team with instructions right by my side, and read it all the time I hadn’t notice that I needed 60-80 g of protein but the nurse at the doctors office called me to make sure that I was getting in my protein, I thought I was doing great day one at home drink a half of a box...reality check lol. So I decided to throw those little cups they gave me in the hospital away because I needed to get moving, my goal was to drink 40 g of protein by noon, took a break for an hour and just dipped on water and at 1:00 started on my other 40 g, I tried to complete it by 7:00. That worked for me, figure out a regime that works for you and stick to it. The nurse said if I didn’t get my protein in that I wouldn’t heal as fast and I would start to feel bad, I didn’t want that to happen and I feel really good. My suggestion is to follow whatever instructions that your team has laid out for you and contact them if you have any problems, they’ve been through this with thousands of patients and have suggestions for you in getting your protein in, you’d be surprised. You can do it!!
  16. @Jingle123423 I know it’s a weird feeling right. Mine did that in the beginning too? I’m 8 days post-op and I noticed that it just stopped maybe like 5 days in or so. I’m still on liquids until this Sunday, my nutritionist said it was ok to start the purée phase a little early since I was tolerating things pretty well. It’s going to get better lol. Hang in there ? I’m looking forward and ready for the purée stage.
  17. Thanks @Orchards&Dragons for the update on @Frustr8 I’m so happy that everything went well for you and so proud of you for not giving up. I wish you a speedy recovery and can’t wait to read your funny posts real soon. Now don’t go trying to run a marathon right away lol. ((Hugs and kisses))
  18. Hi Christian, welcome. I wish you much success on your journey. There is a wealth of information here and it has really helped me a lot personally, there are a lot of nice folks here that are always ready to lift you up and help you where they can. You got this!! ?
  19. Yayyyyyy!! I’m so happy everything went better than expected. You have a great outlook on life and you’re so motivating for others. I wish you a speedy recovery buddy ((Big Hugs)) ?
  20. Congratulations! That’s awesome. I’m not a vet but the more your starting weight is the more you will lose, if the starting weight is lower then you lose less lbs. I need to lose 80 lbs but sure do not want to lose it all in 2 months... I don’t think my brain could handle that lol. like NCGITL88 said it just shows how we are all different in our weight loss. You should be proud...Keep up the great work!!
  21. I drink Labrada because it’s lactose and gluten free, for 17 oz it only has 9 g of carbs and 40 G protein, 280 cal. They work well for me ??
  22. @TX4everLinds it does get sooooo much better. I was sleeved about 7 days ago, no more gas or incision pains, I feel like a new woman. Best decision ever!! Remember to walk, walk, walk it is KEY to moving the gas which hurts worse than the incisions to me ? I wish you a speedy recovery. ?
  23. Very interesting....hmmmm I haven’t been back to work yet from my surgery on 8/29/18 but I’m ready for them...I’m like what @Matt Z described bahahahaha since I turned 50 I’m kinda out of control ( ok a lot out of control) lol ?
  24. Your life story is so touching...you are so brave and very positive. I know you will do good, you have a lot of support here. Please keep us posted buddy ((hugs))
  25. @macadamia I wish you all the best. You got this buddy!!
