  1. @frustr8 please don’t bring much, I just had my surgery 5 days ago, I brought a bag full of stuff, the only thing I did use was my phone charger, chap stick and slippers and that’s only because I didn’t want to get back in bed with the dirty socks on that they give you after walking, the hospital provided everything including a comb, which I never combed my hair, I just wasn’t up to it. I just ran my fingers through it a few times lol. I had surgery on a Wednesday morning and went home in the same dress that I wore there, Friday afternoon. I never even used my biotene, they gave me these cool mouth swabs on a stick that Was soaking in some kind of semi sweet liquid that I used when I awoke after surgery. the next day you can brush your teeth and the hospital provides toiletries as well. You will do just fine...I wish you all the best huggsss
  2. @greentealael you look great and congrats ??

  4. Your're so welcome @AshAsh1 and thank you...I have my surgery wednesday, can you believe it's here already...I'm feeling all kinds of emotions lol, but I'm ready!! Wish me luck
  5. WOW @AshAsh1 You look so good, just amazing... I am so proud of you. So inspiring
  6. Hi @AndreaK. My situation is similar to yours, I have Type II diabetes and currently take metformin and victoza, I have my surgery wednesday the 29th and my endocrinologist said that literally right after surgery that I can come off all of the diabetic meds...It sounds a little too good to be true but I'm trusting him and I will definately let you know how it goes after surgery...I was able to get off of the meds when losing weight before but regained and was back on it. That is one of the reasons for me having the surgery, but If I don't come completely off it won't be the end of the world, I will just continue to do my best with my lifestyle change and not let that set me back. I wish you all the best.
  7. Congratulations! You are on your way to a healthier lifestyle
  8. Absolutely gorgeous! You are Motivating ??

  10. I'm glad everything went well for you, I know you are glad that's over...Wishing you well on your journey.
  11. Congrats! Glad everything turned out ok, you are moving right along, the 7th will be here before you know it
  12. Congratulations!! I'm a few weeks before you...
  13. Metformin is for diabetes, I have type II diabetes and my endocrinologist told me that after WLS I do not have to take Metformin anymore...It does sound too good to be true but it's their specialty so they know best. When I told my endocrinologist that I was having WLS he was ecstatic, he said that was the best decision ever. That is my main reason for having the surgery is to get off of the Metformin, I literally feel sick to my stomach almost everyday from taking it and I'm so tired of that feeling. Not a good quality of life. Have you had surgery yet? I will on August 29th.
  14. Glad that your surgeon found what was wrong and you are ok now. The 6 months will go by fast. I wish you the best
  15. WOW! I think you are losing fast, 42 lbs in 3.5 months...that's almost 3.5 lbs a week, I'll take that anyday.
  16. Congratulations! you look great

  20. @GreenTealael That's great! and it shows your determination. Another good tip...
  21. In the beginning I was worried about should I tell people or keep it a secret because at my job just like all others everyone gossips, that's life though and we are all imperfect....BUT as the time passed I have gotten so excited and have pretty much told everyone (in the section that I work in at least) LOL...even 2 of my guy co-workers. I'm older though (probably would forget what made up story I had told folks...) and really don't care much about what people say behind my back because I know who I am...and I want to help anyone who ever thought about having WLS because I was one of the sceptics years ago but because I'm so comfortable with my decision I just feel like what the heck I'd rather people hear it from me than some lie from someone else. My surgery is August 29th, I have some co-workers counting down with me. But that's just me...I'm kinda crazy so you do what works for you PS: We do have an HR department and they follow the HIPPA Law to a T so no one would have found out from them, from past experience they only send a form stating that the employee is approved for FMLA for whatever number of days your doctor feels like you need to take off...no details on the form at all. I wish you the best.
