  1. Thanks, Fluffy and GradyCat! I needed reassurance that it is possible! I'm still on shakes, 2 ounces of ricotta, or 2 ounces of non fat Greek yogurt. Nothin' carby or crappy in my diet, and I plan to keep it that way!! Trying pureed boiled egg for lunch today.
  2. Today marks 3 weeks post bypass for me, and although I'm not in a stall per se, I am losing very very slowly. I'm 57 and post menopausal so that may have something to do with it. I'm eating approx 55-90 gm protein a day and still in purees. I need assurance that if I keep working my plan I will eventually lose weight. Any successful slow losers out there?
  3. I didn't cheat but pnly lost 6 pounds on the pre op diet. I was afraid my liver didn't shrink enough but surgeon said all was fine. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!!
  4. You'll be fine. The point is to shrink your liver on a low carb, low fat diet. If you really have questions you need to contact your surgeon's office. Good luck on your surgery, and good job not cheating!!
  5. Hmmm. Is there a therapist you can talk to about this food-disordered behavior? It is a slippery slope, and I'd like to see you get it under control before it extends to other meals as well. As a former anorexic/purger, I know what it's like to eat and then make yourself throw up. Please get help! Best wishes.
  6. Since my bypass I take CorOmega brand fish oil cream in little pouches. My physician prescribed fish oil capsules years ago, but since bypass tgey are too large to swallow. Coromega tastes like a creamsicle with no fishy burps or aftertaste.
  7. I take two psych meds, and was told that as long as they were not extended release I could take them right away. I've had no problems taking them, and they seem just as effective as begire surgery. Im 19 days post surgery.
  8. I use Baritastic
  9. Did your surgeon give you a specific list of purees you should eat? I have 2 stages of purees, bland purees for one week, then advanced purees for another week. Cream if Rice didn't sit well with me. I pureed refried beans with a little broth. Delicious. I can also eat ricotta cheese, plain Greek yogurt. Soon I'll add hummus, cottage cheese, and pureed boiled egg.
  10. Oh, I also found the lemonade Crystal Light gave me pouch pain. I switched to fruit punch and citrus and they are less acidic and irritating than lemonade.
  11. Maybe stop weighing every day. That way you won't get stressed with the up and down. I think you're doing great!!
  12. Have you noticed any difference when you sip warm broth versus the ice water? I am 18 days post op, and ice cold fluids cause spasms. I get pain if I gulp rather than several baby sips. I drink a lot of Crystal Light in cool, but not cold water. Try varying the temperature and take smaller sips.
  13. I call it "protein breath", and I can't stand it!!!

Following! I'm also intimidated by all the hard bodies at the gym, and don't know what to do either.
  15. You've lost 30 pounds! Congratulations. It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong!!
  16. I had surgery the same day as you did, and Ive been stalled for a few days. I've only lost half of what you have, though. I'm kinda frustrated with the slow weight loss, but Im just gonna follow my plan, and persevere!! Best wishes to you.
  17. What fluids are you trying? Are you taking tiny sips?
  18. Thanks, GradyCat. It's hard to coordinate the purees, shakes, and other fluids. But I'm trying!! Lol
  19. Hi! I know that we are supposed to wait at least 30 minutes after eating to drink anything. However, does this rule apply to our small amounts of purees, too? Now that I started purees I'm not getting in enough fluids, because of the waiting.
  20. Thanks, Fluffy. I've had success so far with yogurt and pureed refried beans diluted with chicken broth. May try ricotta tonite! No more cream of rice! [emoji39]
  21. I can't drink Premier Protein for that very reason. Whey protein isolate doesn't bither me at all, but whey protein Concentrate does.
  22. Could it be dairy? I hear that some folks become lactose intolerant post surgery. Hope you get it sorted out soon!!
