Medications immediately after surgery

Wondering what everyone's experience has been with taking your prescribed medications immediately after your surgery. I am on two different antidepressants and can't take several weeks off from taking them right after my sleeve surgery. Has anyone had any experience with this? Surgeon said if it goes down the esophagus it will fit in the stomach. But I don't think he meant the day after surgery? Any words of advise are welcome.

I take two psych meds, and was told that as long as they were not extended release I could take them right away. I've had no problems taking them, and they seem just as effective as begire surgery.

I had to crush mine for two weeks.

I cut mine in half. That seems to work but I wait 10 minutes between pills.
