  5. Please do not take this as rude or disrespectful, but if you have to prepare for a psych eval, maybe you arent ready for surgery.
  6. Im not allowed soup. I am lucky in that i geget 3 oz of lean protein and 1 cup of vegetables a day for dinner. Breakfast is a shake, lunch a protein bar. Sf jello and popsicles in between. I got lucky that it isnt all liquid.

  8. Im on day 6 of 14. I remember 6 mos ago thinking to myself am i going to be able to adapt my eating afterwards? Now i would kill for some of the puree recipes ive seen!
  9. 16 pounds in 3 weeks isnt bad at all, I wouldn't think. Especially considering most people gain a few lbs after surgery from all of the IV fluids etc. I dont think i would get too upset yet.
  10. You dont really look like you have any extra skin! What is your secret or did you just get lucky and have excellent genes?
  11. I cant have the tv on for 10 mins without seeing pizza, fried chicken, steak, junk food. This pre op diet is hard enough on its own! Comcast is trying to kill me I swear! Does seeing the stuff you really like but "can't or shouldn't " have get easier post op? These cravings right now are crazy!

  13. @srio77 Im August 28th also! My pre op diet is 2 wks, it SUCKS!
  14. I was told that it could take a week or 2 to start losing due to swelling, fluids from your IV and just till your body realizes whats going on. I know its easier said than done but I wouldn't worry yet!

  19. If I was you, I would still try and explain to your PCP how important this is to you and that you don't want a quick temporary fix but a tool that can help you manage your weight forever. Let him/her know that if your views are that different that you think it might be best to find someone else. At the end of the day they work for you. Unless there is a good solid medical reason that you shouldnt have it, then switch. Do you meet the 40 bmi criteria or 35 with comorbidities?

  21. Do you see any sort of specialists for what would be considered a weight related condition such as an endocrinologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist etc? Maybe they could write one?
