  1. Try staying away from any milk/whey products for a bit. You may have developed an intolerance.
  2. I totally get where you're coming from!
  3. We may eventually get to that point at my house when it's just hubby and me, but for the time being, with 5 adults going to the grocery store and picking up whatever, our pantry and fridges are stocked to bursting. It's totally different if you control the food being brought into the house.
  4. I have things like low-sugar marinara that they've used by accident, sugar-free ice-cream, my fairlife milk, etc. I don't care that they eat it, just that it's not there when I need/want it.
  5. I do that. They hid the Sharpie. I got another one!
  6. Yes, it's very unsupportive and irritating.
  7. Plateaus are going to happen occasionally. Some people have more, some less, but weight loss is not linear. Plus, our bodies are all different. Just focus on sticking with your plan. Make sure you track your measurements. You'll find that often when the scale isn't moving, you're dropping inches. I have never yet had a week where I didn't lose either pounds or inches since my surgery in February. Good luck. Oh, and if you discover the secret to avoiding plateaus, copyright it! You'll be rich!
  8. I liked oatmeal thinned with unsweetened applesauce for breakfast. Also, per my team - a lot of people really dislike the textures of the soft food phase, so if you'd rather stay for an extra week or so on full liquids, that won't hurt anything. Or just do one soft meal a day. You can stay with a shake or yogurt for breakfast if that's what you're doing already.
  9. Did your doctor put you on a PPI when you left the hospital (something like Prilosec that reduces stomach acid production (Omeprazole is the generic))? My doc does that for a month after surgery to help with the healing. If not, you might ask your surgeon about it, at least until the swelling in your stomach goes down. Good luck.
  10. Infuse water with cucumbers, fruit, mint or even celery - whatever flavors you enjoy. Just don't drink the solids. Drink herbal teas, many of those are good without adding sweeteners.
  11. Yes, definitely!
  12. I'm feeling like I'm doing the puzzle from the cartoon pages: Find 5 differences between the pictures! I'm not sure there's 5! Looks good, though!
  13. Definitely! Your face is thinning - or else your ears are growing
  14. I have always been absolutely positive that I would die in a car crash, so never really considered long-term longevity. I just plan to be an easier-to-remove-from-crushed-vehicle corpse If I end up dying from something else, I will be truly and completely dumbfounded. This tends to make me relatively fearless in dangerous situations. (I do worry about situations where I could be HURT, but not killed. Odd, huh?)
  15. Maybe have a new boyfriend take a bite and measure the distance between his teeth?
  16. I don't have calipers. Do you think I can use a monkey wrench and then measure the distance between the jaws?
  17. Wow, that's absolutely terrifying! You were so fortunate to have found out in time (well, and unfortunate to be one of the few who get blood clots.) Best wishes that this all gets resolved quickly. ((hug))
  18. Dawn, good to see you! Your progress is awesome! Congrats! Like you, my 7-month surgiversary is tomorrow. I am down 90 lbs. and just yesterday, weighed the exact same as my husband!!! That has never-ever-never happened in our 29-year marriage. In a few days, I may be the lightest person in my house! I would have been happy with this at 1 year; I'd never have imagined that it could happen this quickly.
  19. Thanks for the recipe! I've got to try these, they look amazing!
