  1. Congrats on getting to the loser's bench! Hope your recovery is quick and uneventful!
  2. So apparently your creativity does have an "ON" switch with the right incentives.
  3. OK, then! Back to work! (Whip cracks in background!)
  4. Sounds like a nightmare. Creative thinking doesn't have an on/off switch. That's one reason I'm an accountant. We can go to jail for being creative ?
  5. Seems like "creative writing" and "taxes my spirit and soul" do not belong in the same sentence. It must be about something you have absolutely no passion for.
  6. Congrats on your loss so far. Sounds like you're doing great. It will take a couple of days of the omeprazole before your acid-jets cool down. You might check with the Dr's office and see if you can take a liquid or chewable antacid until then to help cool your throat. In the meantime, avoid liquids that are higher in acid like lemonade.
  7. That is so me, too! If I were any good at moderation, I wouldn't have needed surgery. I applaud those who can, but I'm not one of them.
  8. BTW, did anyone else's article have ads for ice cream on every page? Talk about a mixed message!
  9. Excellent, thanks for posting! I loved the ground zero jump. Will be giving that one a try. Here's a link to the video, my article didn't have a link. https://www.bariatriceating.com/2015/04/low-impact-bariatric-movement-ground-zero-jumps/
  10. The important thing to recognize is that after a few months, we are capable of eating the entire bag again. So establishing good habits, in the beginning, is vital to success. This doesn't apply to everyone. Some people maintain major restriction or minimal hunger for years, but others don't. We can't predict which camp we'll end up in. That said, my treat is wine. However, I only have it on actual occasions: my birthday, on vacation, etc. Times that are clearly delimited from my normal life. I only eat about 800 cals/day. Using 80 of those cals on a glass of wine would be a poor nutritional choice if I did it regularly.
  11. Yup, I've got nothing but a few skin ripples to indicate where a butt should live!
  12. Fluff's trying to get it renamed because it doesn't look much like a hug.
  13. I have lower back problems so bridges are a good choice for me. However, I come from a long line of noassatalls, so there's only so much to be done ☹️
  14. Bridges? Check out #3 in particular https://yurielkaim.com/glute-bridge-exercise/
  15. Best wishes for a smooth surgery and a quick recovery!
  16. Sorry to hear you're struggling. The feeling of hunger people experience post-op is very variable. Some don't lose their sense of hunger at all, some feel almost none. You just have to live with your body. Did your doctor prescribe a PPI for the first month after surgery? (Prilosec, omeprazole, etc.) PPIs reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces. You can ask your doctor's office about this, since acid mimics hunger. My doctor prescribes them for all patients for the first month to help with healing. Good luck with school and hope this all gets better for you.
  17. We can tell who isn't subject to random urine tests at work! ?
  18. One of my twins came down with shingles the day before he was to start first grade (after getting the chickenpox vaccine.) He was soooo miserable. Hope you feel better soon, Matt!
  19. They will numb the entire area first and probably send you to la-la land.
  20. I'm curious. When I had my surgery, there was another bariatric patient a few doors down. We had different surgeons (thank God!) Anyway, her surgeon would not prescribe anything other than Tylenol for post-op pain. This is his normal practice, not an unusual case because she was an addict or something. My nurse told me that the woman wouldn't get out of bed to walk or anything because she was in so much pain. This seems cruel to me. My question is: Why would anyone go to a surgeon like this? Do you think that patients just don't know?
  21. @GreenTealael I saw this one and thought of you. It looks delicious! Not particularly high in protein, but if you served it over quinoa, that would help. https://minimalistbaker.com/moroccan-spiced-eggplant-and-tomato-stew/?omhide=true&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NEW!+Moroccan-Spiced+Eggplant+and+Tomato+Stew!
  22. I have so enjoyed following your journey and have learned so much from you! Congrats on your phenomenal success!
