  1. I had another good day yesterday with IF and macros. I ate within a 4 hr window and had all my supplements and met my protein and fluid goals. Of course the scale doesn't agree and has bounced up, but whatever. One win from yesterday. I ordered in Thai food, which is pretty much a mine field, since my favorite dish is a noodle dish. BUT, I stayed strong and only ordered lean protein dishes!
  2. @FluffyChix I absolutely count all of those as wins! For myself, eating perfectly is not sustainable long term. But what is sustainable is making better choices than I would have in the past.
  3. @GreenTealael That sounds awful, hope you are all recovered!
  4. Definitely won't like those then
  5. I had a half bottle of Premier Protein with coffee, and it went well ... no issues!
  6. I'm with you ... I don't get the cake or mac and cheese recipes either. I just use it for things like soups, stews, etc. That's where you get the time savings. The pasta thing was just laziness. I was planning to add the pasta after I had pressure cooked the res of the soup. But at the last minute I decided to throw it in as well. So, yeah, overcooked, as I suspected it would be.
  7. Thanks! It feels good knowing that even when I fall off the wagon I'm capable of getting back on again! I have made good choices in the past. It is way easier for me when good choices are also what I really want, like the tuna tartar. As for the dumplings, the restaurant only serves noodles, rice, and dumplings, so again, what I really wanted, was also the best choice. Well, they also serve greens, but not a chance in h*ll I was just going to order a plate of spinach I've done so little drinking compared to normal, lol. I was only tempted yesterday because my friend makes amazing Micheladas. I had one over the weekend and it sucked and cost $10! Cooking, since I live alone, is pretty pointless considering how much I can eat. I didn't cook just for myself much even pre WLS, cause cooking for 1 sucks. The ironic thing is, I am a pretty good cook, and actually love cooking for other people.
  8. Most of my pics are meals out, without the ability to take home leftovers. At home I generally only serve myself what I know I can eat. If I'm eating out near home, then I usually order leftover friendly food, and take it home. There is still usually a lot of waste though because you can only eat so many meals of the same leftover until you just want to throw it out.
  9. The Chicken Lettuce wraps aren't a bad choice nutritionally. It's 660 calories, but the serving is pretty huge, 38 g of protein. And it's great for leftovers. Not that I could take the leftovers ... sigh ....
  10. Super congrats! That is amazing! I'm so happy for you!
  11. Ohh ... and the scale is moving in the right direction again. I'm close to the weight I have listed on here again!
  12. Hello! Been a busy couple of days! But a good couple of days! Thanks for everyone for talking me off the ledge. I was ready to throw in the towel with all this healthy eating stuff. I'm glad I have a place to be honest about the struggles, without judgement. So two days ago, first day back on the wagon, was a great day. Eating within a 6 hr window. Look at these macros! And I actually cooked, real food. Well, threw stuff in the Instapot. But that's more than I have done forever, if I was just cooking for myself. Lesson learned. No matter how many recipes tell you to do so, pasta in the Instapot is not a good idea! And, in other good news, the Premier Protein Vietnamese coffee agreed with me just fine. Was my whey protein intolerance maybe temporary?? Yesterday wasn't a good day for macros or protein, or fluids, or even IF really, lol. But, I had two meals out, and made relatively good choices. So I'm counting it as a win. Especially considering I had a graze-y type lunch that made me HUNGRY after, and I resisted the fast food siren call afterwards. I also visited a friend of mine, a bartender and only had club soda. These are probably totally inaccurate, but gives me an idea at least
  13. Stalls can happen at any time. There is no such thing as too early. It will really help to keep your sanity through this process, if you focus on the big picture. Thinks in terms of, "I've lost 25 lbs in the last month" That is an incredible amount of weight to lose. And head hunger is just as real and just as powerful as physical hunger. So learning to manage that is critical to success (I still struggle). Taking out our stomach's does nothing to stop us from wanting to eat.
  14. It is a lot of cheese . Some of it is due to hungry shopping Laughing Cow Light Swiss Wedges paired with 34 Degrees Rosemary Crackers Smoked Gouda (I buy the Trader Joe's version, it's good and cheap) English Cheddar with Caramelized Onions from Trader Joe's (This is my true cheese love, but don't buy it unless I'm having guests over, it molds super quick)
  15. @MargoCL & @Matt Z Since you love the Kay's have you tried these? https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/all/products/bariatricpal-protein-double-bites-honey-mustard Not quite as good macros as Kay's, but totally taste normal, not like a protein product. The Honey Mustard Flavor tastes like the Gardetto's pretzel flavoring to me.
  16. You were fasting while @FluffyChix and I were going off the rails
  17. I just bought one of these brushes. No expereince yet, but they generally get good reviews and don't cost much https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_3_30?url=search-alias%3Dhpc&field-keywords=exfoliating+brush+ingrown+hairs&sprefix=Exfoliating+Brush+ingrown+hair%2Cbeauty%2C192&crid=2SP07W0PY2HVH&rh=n%3A3760901%2Ck%3Aexfoliating+brush+ingrown+hairs
  18. At 40 cals per tblsp ... I'll go with less authentic, or should I say less xác thực!
  19. My stomach is made of iron, I swear. Only things that bother it are vitamins! It was that way pre WLS, and is the same now. It's funny, at 3 weeks post op I was on trip to a week long meeting and the host is known for hosting elaborate meals. I was eating 10-15 course meals each night. I mean obviously I didn't eat every course, nor eat very much of the courses I did have. But I think back and wonder how I *knew* my stomach would be able to handle everything, duck, pork, raw fish, cooked fish, shellfish, etc. But it did, with no issues. *Disclaimer - I don't encourage anyone else to go off plan so early post op!
  20. I'd love for that to be true of soy potein isolate, but it has a gritty texture that too unpleasant for me to deal with.
  21. Using @FluffyChix suggestion Vietnamese coffee with PP instead of sweetened condensed milk. This will be my first experiment with whey protein in about 6 months. Fingers crossed I've gotten over my intolerance!
  22. That looks delicious. Great timing for looking at this pic, I have a tummy full of jerky, so not too tempted to make a taco run!
