I kinda hate you! Congrats on the new car. I'm a little sad for you about the Dart too though I actually went car shopping last week, but there were no more of the car I want with the options I want left within 100 miles of me, at least. So I'll be waiting and watching for when the new model year starts arriving, and they start discounting them.

Oh man ... my dates are now so dull in comparison! Beautiful quilts! Quilt shows seem so midwesternly wholesome. Like it should be paired with casseroles, not ropes!

Im exhausted 11 days post-op need advice
I had issues with exhaustion, shaky-ness and feeling like I was going to pass out. I received a B-12 shot from my surgeon's office, and that seemed to solve the issue. I now take B12 sublingual.

Afraid that I'm going to let fear of pain prevent me from going through with surgery
What you're describing would be an exceptional case, from my experience, and from everything I have read on here. I only had true pain right upon waking from surgery. It was pretty damn painful, I assume it was the gas pain. I'm not sure how long it lasted, but in my memory it doesn't seem like long, I was obviously petty groggy. Once in my room I received Dilauded via IV, and then took away any pain an made me sleepy. From that point onward I never felt any pain, just uncomfortableness and soeness. Nothing sharp whatsoever. I never threw up and only felt nausea when they pushed the pain meds (this might be a me thing, I'm not sure if it's common). I was up and walking in a few hours, reading on my phone, texting, etc. The next day I was just ready to get home, and I was fine without any help (I live alone), and on the car ride home. At the hospital the day of surgery, I was able to sleep, if they did come in, I was groggy enough to go right back to sleep. At night I was left undistrurbed unless I called or the IV alarm went off.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Yeah, new grocery chains have a hard time in CA. I think because there are already so many more choices than the rest of the country, people are less inclined to try out some place new. Aldi is also challenging for people because it is almost all private label. So that is off putting if someone wants Wheat Thins, and isn't willing to try Wheat-y Thins . And because there is so much competition in CA, our grocery prices are on average very low, so again, less reason for people to try out Aldi. Yeah, I love Wegmans as well ... I was surprised and nice they were and how low the prices were. Not a normal combo! They are expanding ... so maybe they'll make it to you!?!

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Not sure how today will go as far as IF. Will be having a late brunch, so that will give me a decent fast. Then my evening plans are up in the air. We'll see, I guess. Starting this week, I have tons of travel on my calendar. Sometimes I can do IF, sometimes I can't. But it always makes it hard to eat clean and make good choices. And I'm terrible at hydration, protein goals, and taking all my supplements on the road.

Aldi's are new to CA. I've loved them from afar forever, so excited when they arrived. But they are few and far between, none very convenient to me. And so so empty, it'll be interesting to see if they last. But I love them, their prices, and all their interesting items. Shopping at my regular stores like TJ's etc., are fine for me, I just go for what I want and generally don't get too distracted. But I was very distracted by Aldi's various versions of frozen spaetzel Oh, and on the topic of regional grocery stores. I love HEB, and wish they would come to CA. But they won't, ever

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
I know Even with my tiny tummy, I counted 1600 cals yesterday. And almost all food. The only good decision I made yesterday was to have a light beer, and only one Exact same here. Saw my surgeon last month, and he said I looked great and questioned why I wanted to lose more weight. I told him the same, he wouldn't be saying that if he saw me naked. I also wonder if I hadn't gotten the praise I got at the party, with multiple people telling me they can't see why I'd lose more, would I have eaten those red vines? I'm a very stubborn and determined person, so long term those comments won't stop me. But did they for one night?

More beautiful meals .....

Do you snack?
I have healthy snacks if I'm hungry. But I don't have any planned snacks, like some plans have (i.e. 3 meals + 2 snacks). Oh, and my restriction keeps me from gorging. But hunger can sometimes make me make unwise choices.

Face to Face Friday!
I didn't see the change in my face for the longest time. Then, one day I just looked dramatically different. I remember I was in a restaurant restroom washing my hands, I looked up and for a second I didn't recognize it was me in the mirror.

A mag citrate cleanse was required for me the day prior to surgery.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Awfully quiet in here .... So, I'll start with the good news ... yesterday was a good IF day, ate within a 6 hr window and hit protein and supplements, but not fluids. I even went grocery shopping while fasting and stayed strong. (I rarely grocery shop anymore, either quick TJ's run, or have them delivered) So for the bad ... I'm just going to throw this weekend out the window. Met a friend for lunch, I had Fried Dumplings, Noodles w Black Bean Sauce (Jajangmyeon), Fried Shrimp w Chili Sauce & Cheese Corn (yeah, really called that). I'm currently making Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers for a Fight Night/Mexican Independence Day party tonight. There will be a taco guy there that makes authentic El Pastor, on the spit. There will be lots of alcohol, unsure if I will have any. And then tomorrow I have brunch plans, and am craving a Michelada. So basically, this weekend is f'd Oh, and I went grocery shopping, again (ran out of bacon for the poppers), and was not so strong. Combo of interesting items and cheap prices are my downfall, thanks Aldi!

Does Belching/Burping Ever Stop?
I got over it pretty quickly. My stomach stopped making all the gurgling sounds as well

What did you tell people at work?
I think one of the factors is, do you take meals with your coworkers, especially meals out. I do quite frequently. My stomach capacity is so small, I barely make a dent in a meal, and it is very obvious. Especially if they observe it repeatedly. I would not be able to get away with "I'm eating healthier" etc. Between the small amount I eat and my rapid weight loss, someone would have called an eating disorder intervention. I created a medical issue that is not WLS, to explain my eating and weight loss. I don't like the fabrication, but my struggle with my weight isn't something I am willing to share.

Returned to work too soon?
Also get a shot, or start taking a B12 sublingual. At about 3 weeks post op I started feeling shaky and like I was going to pass out with the smallest amount of activity. A B12 shot from my surgeon seemed to solve the issue.

Lol ... well, like 80% of a tortilla! I'm such a cheap date these days. I mean, that taco cost $2.50 (which is a lot for a street style taco!) and I'll be eating it for days!

And chargers! Don't buy too many protein supplements and other items for the liquid/puree/soft food stages. You will be eating very little. I gave or threw away so much food!

Acid Reflux Concerns - Oct. Sleeve Surgery
I think there is a difference with having occasional cases of reflux, and having it chronically. I had occasional heartburn. But it was always related to drinking heavily and then lying down. Post VSG I was on PPI for a couple of months. I went off it and have not had one instance of reflux. I would suggest talking to your surgeon about your concerns.

The Fall
I plan to enjoy the holiday events and not restrict and deprive myself at them. I'll just make sure the rest of the time I am eating healthfully (well.. you know). I'll only choose the items I absolutely love, not eat stuff just because it's there. (Hello stuffing, goodbye pumpkin pie). I won't graze on apps, I'll wait for the main meal (except poke and ceviche, will gobble those up) I'll not take left overs (unless it's lean meats). I'll not keep holiday foods around the house (gonna miss you candy cane kisses!) I'll enjoy a glass of wine with dinner (but not 3 beers before hand)
