  1. I was the same way! I made my first appointment back in January 2018 had my gastric sleeve in March 2018. Reached my goal in January 2019. Best decision I’ve made! Good luck to you.
  2. Insurance hardly covered anything for me. I still had to fork out over $7,000.. I did not have to lose weight for insurance. I lost 14lbs on the liquid diet before surgery. I did have to give at least 5 yrs of weight history from my primary dr. Not a problem I had been over weight for more 28 yrs since I gained 100lbs with my pregnancies. I start my weight loss journey in January 2018. I just had my 1 yrs Anniversary for surgery March 22. I was 270lbs at 5’2” I reached my goal 145lbs at 10 months. I go today for my yearly with the surgeon. Good luck to you on your journey it is the first step to a healthier you!
  3. Maybe try the liquid diet (mine was two weeks). Nothing but liquids, no food. I lost 14 lbs. maybe with weight watchers and alternate between the two. Spending $$$$ for surgery Might not be a wise thing to do. It is definitely a life changing surgery. This is just my opinion. My choice was surgery but I had over 125 lbs to lose.
  4. We can have it too! That’s when you are thankful you are near a restroom
  5. I met with my surgeon first time January 4, 2018 and had my surgery on March 22,2018. So my process went pretty fast but it depends on all your insurance requirements...
  6. They did require 3 to 5 yrs of medical records with weight history.
  7. My nutritionist said it was ok to drink.
  8. Yes mine went really smooth. No issues. I had my 1st consult on January 4,2018 and had surgery on March 23,2018. I am at goal went now which took me only 9months. Down 125lbs.
  9. Yes lots of hair loss sad thing is my hair was already thin as it could be.
  10. I am so sorry. But let me tell you. Surgery is a tool and you get out of it what you put into it. I am down 120lbs since March 22, 2018. Changed my eating habits, portion sizes, no alcohol and nothing fried. I walk a lot but not exercise in the gym but want to start that to tone up. Prove him wrong! Do it for you and no one else. Be the best you for you! Take care... let him see what he is missing out on
  11. I am 5’2” and starting weight was 270 I had sleeve done in March. I weigh 150 now. My goal was 130 but after talking to my primary doctor and surgeon we changed my goal to 145 due to looking too skinny and unhealthy. So I am 5 lbs from goal
  12. Weight by date: 270 1/4/18 253 2/15/18 242 3/22/18 (surgery day) 233 4/2/18 228 4/5/18 219 4/17/18 212 5/6/18 189 6/24/18 181 7/13/18 170 8/26/18 162 9/19/18 158 10/13/18 154 10/26/18 153 11/13/18 151 11/29/18
  13. I went from 243 to 189 in 3 months
  14. I started out at 270 I am 150 now. At first my goal was 130 but I talked with my primary doctor and surgeon and we all agree 145 is my goal weight. I feel I would be too skinny and unhealthy looking at 130.
  15. I am 47. Had sleeve done in March down 120lbs as of today
  16. Plus the surgeon had 2 assistance and I was billed for each of them. One was $11,000 and one was $13,000. Fight this because he told me that he would have one assistant not 2.
  17. from the hospital alone for one night stay I was billed over $65,000. Anesthesia I was billed $8,000. Surgeon’s Bill was over $6,000. Then I was billed separately for blood work which was $3,000
  18. Yes I have it. I needed to show medical history for 5 yrs. had to do the nutrition class and the phyc. evaluation. I had my 1st consult with surgeon on Jan 4,2018 and had my surgery done on March 22,2013. Approval went very fast once everything required was turned in.
  19. I have noticed that after my sleeve in March that I cannot eat cheese and other dairy products. Does a horrible number on my stomach. Plus I now have reflux..... which developed 3 weeks after surgery
  20. Here I had surgery March 22
  21. I am 6 months out... I had very thin/fine hair to begin with. It was to my shoulders, cut it half way on my neck. Really thinking about cutting more off. Dietician says take my vitamins and eat enough protein! Many one try wigs?
  22. What is a ticker?
  23. Definitely go get fluids! Dehydrated for sure is my bet. You look great but not being able to eat 1 grape is not good. Need more protein intake. Really need to talk to Dr maybe you have an obstruction that is restricting you food and drink intake. Glad to hear you get your vitamins. I struggle getting mine. I had surgery in March 2018. I have lots of hair loss now. Which starting out with thin/fine hair already is disheartening.
  24. I think I read somewhere that is a vitamin c issue.... but cannot remember where it was that I saw this.
