I am in the same boat as you. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois and surprisingly I don't have that many things to do. I just had an Upper GI x-ray on friday. and tomorrow I go to my nutrition

I had my consultation with the surgeon today and got the ball rolling. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and really hope I get approved with few issues.
I'm surprised how little I have to do to qualify: lab work (done today), an online seminar, one nutrition class, one psychological evaluation, and an endoscopy. I went ahead and scheduled all of it so I should be done in a couple weeks, then the surgeon's office will submit to insurance. They said BCBS usually takes about 2 weeks to approve after you submit everything.
Sounds too good to be true so I'm cautiously optimistic. I've been thinking about doing this for a long time and now I want to get it done as quickly as possible.
