  1. Yay girl!!! Congrats on your fitbit. You are crushing the walking!!!
  2. @Orchids&Dragons this is what the Devil ended up showing up with. I said, "Not lettuce tacos you schmuck!"
  3. In your situation, I'd probably do that to. Find out from your RD if you gain 5lbs between now and then, will you get in trouble with insurance or the doctor? Ring Ring... Hello, Frito Lay? Can you send me all the Fritos Scoops and Bean Dip along with a case of Pringles and Lays? And go ahead and throw in a couple of Banh Mis, please? **** Ring Ring... Hello Utz? Please send me a case of Cheesy Poofs (balls). kthnxbye.
  4. I love my healthy meals. My super power is maxing the number of protein grams for the calorie. haha. This is 1/2 of a recipe of tuna salad with some kim chi (raw) and veggies. There were no survivors.
  5. So I'm finally at a point of being able to respond, Kitty. Sorry for the delay--but I was thinking about your points all last night and this morning. It wasn't entirely out-of-the-blue, though. She's been saying this to me along with my RD since I hit about 145lbs. They wanted me to stop there cuz they said I had a darling figure that looked right on me and that if I went lower I would look drawn and frail. And yet, I just put their advice aside and went on about my merry agenda. Right? What's messed up (among other things) is that yesterday I was so anxious to see her cuz as usual, I was afraid I "hadn't lost enough" weight or wasn't low enough to "win WLS" and not get a lecture for failing or lack of trying. I was actually worried cuz the scale here was 135.2lbs which was about the same as it was last time in her office. I felt like I should be below 130lbs by now. But my body has resisted and resisted. So although it wasn't unexpected--no one expects the Spanish Inquisition (ty Monty Python). You know? So I wasn't expecting her gentle finger-wagging from the opposite perspective, nor did I miss the fact that she "casually" asked if I'd like to see their new RD since my old one is now at another hospital where I do my support group. So I have 2 RDs on the case now. And of course, I told her, "Sure! When?" LOL. I know for sure she does see me clearly without bias and always operates from a Best Practices perspective, plus she genuinely cares about her patients!! She's so talented and such a healer! I know rebound isn't inevitable but part of me is still so fearful of the zombie apocalypse where all the slain pounds lay waiting to leap on me and I revert to my former poor habits and miscreant deeds that got me to the Obesity Ball. I'm that much of a backslider! (potentially) And yeah, the studies...for sure. Both she and RD1 told me about them that there is no evidence that being midway or lower in your normal zone is healthy for older peeps. It's actually associated with a great all-cause mortality. But ugh...you know? I just wanna be thin. And if I die? I want to die thin (not anorexic). Just thin. Messed up. I know... As to what do I replace the obsession with--I think it's gonna have to be fitness. I really pondered that. I need to build some muscles especially in my arms and legs and core and booty. Well fu*k! IN mah bod! And I'd like to pick my speed up on "ralking" now that I'm actually able to run an entire 5K at one time. Something I never thought would be possible. Even though I pay for it afterward with increased fatigue/pain, it just feels worth it once it's gone. Thanks for caring and for asking the tough questions that make me think! I really value your opinion and friendship! (Ironically, I woke up to a new low -- barely -- of 133.2lbs this morning. I ate like a rabid dog last night. So. much. steak and chicken. and salad. and loaded broccoli.)
  6. You need to be higher. You will lose at anything under 1500 at this point.
  7. Welcome Lizzy!!! Glad you're here!
  8. Are you a Bronte sister? Or maybe Anne Shirley? Nice piece! Wish I could chime in. You have a definite writing style and meter/tempo/cadence I feel as I read your work. You've got talent.
  9. yay!!! It's even more better with a sprinkle of cinnamon and the bananas and cream flavor with the coffee. I call that my CocomoJoe Iced Coffee. Just sip on it all the time if you have to! I drink it in 2 drinks about an hour apart at times.
  10. ((hugs)) Have a healing weekend! Kill lots of zombies for us and take pics. Cuz you know...we like pics and all. I think it's healing to fast. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Sorry you overdid it last night. These things happen and are powerful learning tools!!! Sounds like you have a great plan for the weekend. See ya on Monday!!
  11. Ok, for all of you who THINK you hate Premier Protein or protein drinks! This is for you! I just made my homemade "GoGurt" using Lifeway Low Fat Plain Kefir (great pre-biotic for a healthy gut) and Premier Protein! So so so good! And it's a 5oz "shot" that's perfect for a pick-me-up! And has 9g of quality protein. So sosososososososo good! Any fruit flavored protein drink will work!

  14. Oh wow! And dang, I forgot with your back/spine issues, I bet strength training is tough--let alone running!!! Are you able to do PT and have you felt any relief from it? I know PT helped me soooo much! And double wow on being light enough for a small female to lift you! Do you think you are "actually" weaker physically or do you think that is more BD stuff expressing itself? (I can def relate to BD. so. many. issues. here. LOL. *snort*)
  15. Awww! Hon, I'm sorry for the struggle! I've literally been working on the last 20lbs longer than I worked on the first 60-70lbs. It's a process! Don't self-sabotage cuz then it just sets you back another week. Move forward through it! Why not shake things up and start doing IF? We have a huge thread on it here. Come join us!!
  16. Haha. Not quite. "Jabooty" is still with me, but one day, may she rest in peace! I ran my third 5K this morning. I feel strong-ish. Do you?!
  17. Dooooo eeet! It will help you deal with the other BS. And taking time for yourself--well you know it's important hon. You'll figure it out! Dim the lights.
  18. Yes, I think they are a by-product of early ketosis where your brain is getting major fuel from alpha-hydroxybutyrate and (ketones) and it's sayin...DUDE! Where you been all my life and how YOU doin? And then you settle down as you adjust to being in a fat burning state.

  20. Yay!! I won't congratulate you until you hit that 1lb goal. Then better watch out!! You are DOING this thing!!!! LOL! And I totes know about the whole hitting "Ideal" or 100% EBW lost. I SOOOOO wanted that super duper top secret. But my surgeon about had a mild cow yesterday when she saw me for me 18month and told me not to lose any more...but then I said, "But my Goal 3 weight milestone is important and only 5lbs away..." Ahhhh...insanity.
  21. Hahahaha! You're 1/2 the man you used to be and kept the best half!!!! Wooot!! Let em look! Jelly bi*ches! Glad you're back. No stress or pressure. But never go away again. Mmmkay?

  24. KISS is just "keep it simple sweetie (or stupid)" lol. And you know that means pretty much what @ms.sss is so awesome at! Oh many use your pb2 in a couple different ways. (I have the Vitacost version which is less sweet tasting to me.) 1. Smoothie: bananas and cream protein (powder or liquid), 1oz blueberries frozen, 1-2 oz baby spinach (optional), pb2, ice, cashew milk unsweetened - any sweetener you want or need. Blend the crap outta it until it's kinda just baby poo greenish and WELL blended! 2. Yogurt/Cottage Cheese "Soup": 57g Greek plain yogurt, 57g Good Culture Cottage Cheese (or more), 2oz of bananas and cream PP or strawberries and cream PP or peaches and cream PP, 12g PB2, stir it all up. Top with 1oz frozen blueberries and 1/2oz of almonds or walnuts. 3. Chia Pudding. Take the above recipe and add 1 tbsp chia seeds and chillax in fridge for about an hour or so to gel up. So so good!
