  1. I hear you Lauratro. I just graduated to soft yesterday. I was so tired of eggs and beans. I did add canned chicken with a bit of mayo or canned tuna with avocado.
  2. You are right Iona. The intubation tube can cause some irritation on your throat. I should go away in a few days.
  3. Don't buy too many shakes. Your taste might might change. I couldn't stand the strawberry flavored shakes after surgery but was fine with them before. Had to give away a whole box of Optifast strawberry shakes.
  4. You look so beautiful!
  5. Congratulations on your decision Sandra. I found the first 5 days of 14 preop really hard. After that I was fine. I know this sounds cliché but I only got through it by taking one day at a time. I went to bed early to avoid the temptation of snacking in the evening hours. Sleeved July 28 2017 and doing well.
  6. I had my favorite food each day for one week before preop. Wouldn't call this food funeral because these were meal times. Sleeved July 28 2017.
  7. I do. I have tried to drink less than 30 mins after eating and the water stopped in my chest. I thought I was going to explode. I learned my lesson.
  8. I had a hernia that I was. I was not aware of prior to surgery. I have heard other people who had had hernia repair and still experience reflux for the first few weeks. On this forum, some people say they have had to be on an antiacid medication for a few weeks after surgery.
  9. Not a silly question at all. I had the sleeve done on July 28. I vomited once day 1 post op. Haven't vomited at all since then and I don't take anything for nausea. This has been my personal experience. Sometimes there is a medical history context to those who have the vomiting issues. It is not normal to continuously vomit years after the surgery.
  10. I get very tired too after I eat. I am back at work and can't nap most of the time but I could use a nap after every meal.
  11. I was not aware that I had a hiatal hernia. My surgeon repaired during my sleeve surgery. I have had no complications from both surgeries.
  12. I just say I have changed the way I eat. High protein, low carb. That is not a lying.
  13. Have they prescribed Zofran for you to stop the vomiting and nausea?
  14. Personally I had a lot of rib cage pain just after surgery because of the gas. That resolved Day 2 with a lot of walking. With my incisions, it did feel like I had done 200 sit ups. The pain was not unbearable. Like any surgery that involves incisions, you have some pain but it gets better everyday. I am 17 days post op with absolutely no pain now.
  15. Don't let anything scare you. We are honest here about our struggles. That is why we get upset when people say that weight loss surgery is the "easy way out." It is hard work. Good luck on your process and surgery.
  16. My tastes changed too. Protein shakes are too sweet and the strawberry optifast shake makes me want to vomit.
  17. I am in the same boat. Purée phase and struggling. Thanks for the tips.
  18. Allie589, I almost peed on myself laughing at your comment about wrinkles not being so deep. That is just waaaaaay too funny[emoji23]!!!
  19. Sassy683, it's your body, your struggle , your choice. Ignore them and do you.
  20. I hear you. I am 15 days post op and just started on purée. I have never been so happy to eat a scrambled egg. Hold on. You are almost there.
  21. I got my pictures without even asking. Love them.
