In need of some major guidance

I've started the pureed phase of my diet and I'm having a hard time incorporating protein unless it's a greek yogurt or protein shake. I can tolerate a scrambled egg, but that's about it. The thought of pureed meat grosses me out. I work in a nursing home and that's all I can think of. What can I do? I need more variety in my life.

Does tuna salad or very finely chopped chicken salad count as puree in your plan? Egg salad? Sloppy joe? Mashed up meatloaf. Also the ricotta bake from EggFace - those may help. Good Luck.

I made tuna salad with tuna a little mayo and dill pickle relish...that was very satisfying.

I had Miso soup. Grab a packet of miso soup spice mix, beef broth and soft tofu. Good protein with fluids and oh so yummy. Drop some egg in for extra protein.

Boil the heck out of a chicken breast. Put fresh onion, a little cabbage, cilantro, pepper, celery salt, and a touch of cumin. Cook it until the chicken falls apart it's so soft. Remove the chicken, blend the juice and then put the chicken back in. It will knock your socks off. Like a yummy Mexican caldo.

Take care

Yeah tuna salad counts. I can't get it down just yet. It gets stuck and it's really uncomfortable. I'm going to try ricotta bakes for sure. I didn't think about sloppy Joes. I should try that too. Thanks!

Just thought, when I was on "pureed" stage, I was told that I could eat any type or protein, doesn't need to be pureed, just chew a lot and make it mush in my mouth before I swallow... I ate chicken, tune, fish and so on my "pureed" stage.. it worked out fine. Good luck!

I have no advice, just wanted to wish you luck that was the worse stage for me! i abrely ate anythign as puree was just gross. the suggestions above seem to really be the best options! and if your working well with your protien shakes thats good too! :)

I'm 6 days post op, and my dietician said that Wendy's chili, puréed, was a favorite among patients. I'm not sure if I'll try that. I never had their chili beforehand.
