Yes, I found out I had it too. I just completed my 10 days. And was really shocked I had this. I was kinda freaking out, question like where, how, or who.

My wife and I were to attend a relatives 25th anniversary last night. Basically it was a dinner and drinks kind of thing. My wife told me it was okay if I didn't go but she knew many friends would miss me and she also would be sad if I couldn't go. Well, first I was pissed off thinking she was trying to guilt me into going. So we sat down to talk and I told her how I felt and I of course read too much into things, she was being honest and not trying to get me to go by guilting me. So we went, we agreed on a 3 hour time limit to stay so I wouldn't feel crappy and miss taking meds and shake (im in preop diet). So sitting at table with two other couples and they all get food, my wife says she won't eat so I'm not the only one. I told her thanks but go get your dinner. So I sat with 5 people as they ate and I drank Water, I was asked why I wasn't eating and I told them that it was because of upcoming surgery and I needed to be on liquid diet and we all talked about the why part of it. And I survived, no cheating, no feelings of sadness from not eating and best of all, I felt great! On the way home I actually felt on top of the world!

"I told very few people I was having gastric bypass because I felt that way myself. I honestly thought, it will work for everyone else, but not me. It will just be another one of my diet failures. After all, that's what's always happened to me in the past. " - I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has had these thoughts. But I am determined to make it work.
@gbveteran4d - you can do it! Please believe in yourself and know you have the power to do it!

I'm 9 months out and still get them occasionally, though not as much as I used to. They are so weird, because I can't really feel them coming. They're just suddenly gurgling up. The sound reminds me of creaking ropes on an old sailing ship, so I just make occasional pirate noises ("Arrr! Arrrr mateys!") and let it go. Totally normal, right?

I am 14 months post op and have lost 90lbs so far. My scale has sat at the same number for over a month at times. Then suddenly another 5lbs will be gone! I am currently at 174-175lbs ( that one pound seems to come and go) and have been at this weight for almost 6 weeks. My goal when I started was 150lbs. But you know what - If I don't lose another lb I am totally fine with that! I am now in a size 12 and feel great about how I look (at least in clothes! lol). That 150lb mark may never happen for me. I know that until recently I panicked if the scale didn't move after a week or 2. And I would try to increase/decrease everything I was doing to kick start the weight loss again. Normally it worked but this go around it doesn't seem to be. Again I am ok with that. My doctor wants me to get to 150 too - but I told him the same thing - I am perfectly fine with right where I am right now! Don't concentrate on that number - concentrate on how you feel!

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far. 126 pounds is impressive. Your goal is an artificial number. Your body determines when you transition from the "Weight Loss" phase into the "Maintenance" phase.
Here are a few things you could do, if you aren't doing this already.
Your daily Protein requirement is the sum of the Protein that you consume from meals combined with the protein from supplements (Protein shakes, protein bars). If you concentrate on eating high protein meals, at a 13 months post-op, your meal volume should be large enough that you should be able to almost completely discontinue using protein supplements. These supplements contain calories, and discontinuing them will drop your caloric intake.
Most people consume food over a 15 hour window. This is meals and Snacks. If you can reduce this eating window down to 10-12 hours per day, that has been shown to reduce weight. Look at your "eating window" and set an end time for your window and restrict consuming food after this time. Make sure you get your 3 meals in per day but this will cut off all Snacks after you reach the end of the window. It is important to burn off the calories that you consume and you can't do that sleeping in bed.

You are putting too much pressure on yourself. 126 pounds in a year is a tremendous accomplishment and you deserve to give yourself a huge pat on the back for getting to this point.
There are "stalls" in the process, I am only five weeks out and had my first stall a week ago and I am sure there are more to follow.
If you are doing everything that is being asked of you, why do you feel it is not enough? Could it be that way because you have emotional struggles that need to be addressed by a therapist? Or could it be that you are comparing yourself to a version of yourself that may not exist (for the time being). Or is it that you have established muscle which weighs more than fat and switching your exercise routine may be the answer?
Instead of beating yourself up, look for solutions in unexpected places. Maybe visit your nutritionist and get some feedback about your diet; she/he may suggest something different. Stress, sadness, the feeling of being overwhelmed won't make the scale tip in the direction you want. It may also contribute to weight gain and even worse a general feeling of malaise that will lead you down the path of turning to food for comfort.
It is going to be okay and the number on the scale does not define who you are, your worth or take away any of your previous successes.

Hang in there! This to me was one of the hardest parts of the journey because of the emotional crap that comes with it.
Your husband is right it will get so much better on surgery day, just keep your eye on the prize.
Don't be surprised if you actually get air headed toward the last few days. I remember not being very clear headed and my husband yelled at me for not having my head in the game while doing our checkbook.
I yelled at him and said let me take food away from you for ten friggin days and let's see how your mind works dumb$&?!
We both started cracking up after that. He has since tried the liquid Protein diet and did not make it 12 hours. We laugh about it all the time.
You will feel better soon! Hang in there!

I have told my husband and MIL and a handful of close friends who are also either trying to lose weight or have lost weight. Everyone has been really supportive so far. I have to tell my own parents at some point since I'm going to ask my mom to come stay with us for the week following surgery.
I am not telling my boxing coach because he's kind of a jerk about weight loss and diet and anything medical. He thinks he knows it all so I just don't talk about it with him.

It's the jewelry, the difference in styles of clothing, the hair colour changes and makeup- it's the big authentic smiles that make me know I'm making the right choice with this surgery.

RNYDawn reacted to MsUjima in Probiotics Improve Outcomes After Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery: A Prospective Randomized Trial
At 6 months, a statistically significant reduction in bacterial overgrowth was achieved in the probiotic group with a preoperative to postoperative change of sum H2 part per million (probiotics = −32.13, controls = 0.80). Surprisingly, the probiotic group attained significantly greater percent excess weight loss than that of control group at 6 weeks (controls = 25.5%, probiotic = 29.9%) and 3 months (38.55%, 47.68%). This trend also continued but was not significant at 6 months (60.78%, 67.15%). The probiotic group had significantly higher postoperative Vitamin B12 levels than the control group. Both probiotic and control groups significantly improved their GIQoL.

RNYDawn reacted to tcon in Long term effect of sleeve surgery on weight loss and comorbidities
Further, it must be noted that many patients were lost to follow up — of the over 400 patients who had LSG, only 38 were still available for evaluation five years after the procedure. Thus, more data from a larger group of patients would help in evaluating the longer term success of this particular surgical procedure.
362 patients were not were followed up. The study doesn't seem fair when only 38 people were followed up on.
Regardless of the study, the surgeon operates on the stomach and not the brain. It's a daily struggle. The sleeve should be utilized as a tool to teach you healthier habits. That's why I feel that is important to follow the plan given to you by your surgeon and NUT for the first 12-18 months. After that, watch out for you slider foods and monitor your weight and unhealthy habits that might be creeping in.
