I use the BariActiv brand! I take the Calcium +D3 & Magnesium, the Multivitamin and Iron. All of the pills are dissolvable/chewable! I also use a B12 Nasal Spray called Nascobal.
I will probably be adding more Biotin to my Vitamin intake, as the Multivitamin only has 600 mcg and that doesn't seem like a lot to me.

These are all great things to look forward to. I think my top five are:
    1. Having more energy to keep up with my three boys and husband
    2. No more GERD!
    3. No seat belt extenders on an airplane (I travel to FL once or twice a year to see my best friends and dread it every time!)
    4. Buying smaller clothes and not having to shop at Lane Bryant where you leave broke nine times out of ten.
    5. food. I don't care what my first bite of real food will be, or how small my portion is - one bite is better than 0! (can you tell I'm tired of liquid diets already, and I'm still pre-op?? LOL
So happy for everyone and wish everyone the best of luck on their WLS journeys!! xo

Me too, I find them to be quite tasty ...especially the banana one, yum!
I stopped eating cream of wheat because I cannot find anything to put in it that I like to add flavor. Pre-surgery, I would do sugar and milk. Post surgery I've tried cinnamon, a smidge of vanilla...and even splenda and nothing tastes right.
If you like, and can tolerate ,oatmeal, I definitely would suggest trying the Quaker "Weight Control" Instant Oatmeal... There's a variety box that has Cinnamon, Maple & Brown Sugar and banana Nut bread and all three of them are delicious and as @@nnv said..very low in sugar and carbs and have decent amounts of Protein
    Good Luck!

No numbers for me. I've tied my value and self esteem to those three little digits for too long. Follow your plan, be diligent with your Protein, Water, Vitamins and exercise. 10 months and 200lbs later I can say that not stressing about stalls and frantic about every ounce would never have served me. Follow your plan and judge how you feel! God bless!

My last meal was garlic fries and a bottle of Water at a concert! The next day was my pre-op visit and she started me on the pre-op liquid diet earlier than most to be proactive with pre-op weight loss and liver shrinkage.
Had I known that the meal I had the night before was going to be my last, I would've definitely had way more to eat at the concert than Garlic Fries! LOL
    But, absolutely no regrets here

Today marks three months since I had RNY. I have lost 75 pounds (pre and post op) and dropped 3 or 4 sizes (depends on if its a top or pants). I feel really good. My blood pressure is normal. My joints don't hurt. I can walk briskly and up flights of stairs without getting out of breath. And I feel like I "fit" in this world better.
    A few observations:
    * This has been a huge learning experience. While I would do it again, it has not come without its hiccups. I am still testing and trying foods that I used to be able to eat. If anything makes me feel bad, I don't eat it again.
    * I am losing about 3 pounds a week, consistently. I have not had a significant stall.
    * Anything high in sugar makes my heart race and causes me to sweat. Anything high in fat gives me diarrhea. These are HUGE incentives to not eat those foods. I HATE how they make me feel.
    * I love, love, LOVE fresh fruit. More than I ever did before surgery. Holy moley, love it!
    * I can eat different quantities of different foods. Example: I can eat a lot more Soup and salad at one sitting that beef.
    * I have had the foamies three or four times. They lasted for about 10 minutes. Way not fun, but you get through it.
    * I have tried alcohol. I don't like how it makes me feel, at all. So, no more. Just not worth it.
    * I decided to stay off caffeine. It was so difficult to get off caffeinated coffee before surgery that I never want to go through that again.
    * I still can gulp Water. Yummo!
    * I have NOT exercised intentionally. I make a point of walking more, but I'm not someone who loves to exercise for exercise sake. That said, I did go out canoeing with my hubby this summer and had a blast. A kayak is on my to-buy list for next summer.
    * People (e.g. spouse) may get sick of your pro-active weight loss updates. My husband has been hugely supportive but telling him every other day that I've lost another pound gets old after awhile. I've stopped doing that, and let him ask me how I'm doing (which he does).
    * This really is an individual journey. You have to find what works best for you. What one person can eat, you may not be able to eat. And no matter what others think about your weight loss journey, the most important opinion is yours.

I had my RNY done on 8/10/15 and as of yesterday I am down 100 and feeling AMAZING!!! I only have about 45 more to go and my question is how does our body or system know it's time to stop losing more weight? It's coming off so fast it's almost scary not knowing if it's going to stop when I need it to?

I'm no expert...but my basic understanding is Sugar alcohols are derivatives from sugar used in sugar free products to sweeten things. Instead of ending in -ose (like glucose) it ends in -ol. (I think Sorbitol is one).
Some people dump on sugar alcohols. (I don't). I've never been told they are not allowed by my team. Other find sugar alcohols make them bloated.

LoggedOutForGood reacted to ItsTheNewMe in Inspiration. A Note from Hubby.
    Hi All...
Got this text from my hubby today. So fun after so much hard work and years of failed diets and challenges...and I've just gotten started after WLS revision a month ago. Just thought I'd share to inspire all of us as we search to change and get healthy and to realize the positive effects on those around us. Let's go do all those things we couldn't do before and include family and friends in the journey.
"I cannot tell you how excited I am right now about our journey and path forward. From our house and life at home to your health and our family's health. Being more active and moving our center of focus from eating to doing... It's great! It's an adjustment but a good one.
It will open so much for us. We can do ski trips and hike and swim and snorkel and bike and ... On and on for fun getaways or around our neighborhood. Just think, you will be able to walk up the mountain with me in Aspen or where ever.
Then at home, we are able to work on the house together... I love that. Before, it was daunting, but yesterday showed me how great it will be now. Tackling a closet or a room is nothing. We can organize and decorate together. It will make our house so extra warm (it already was, but now it will be even more so).
THANK YOU for tackling this health monster. I'm so proud of you.
I will do the same in my life. You're inspiring. Thank you. Love you."
Question: What are you doing or going to do that may drive you and possibly inspire your loved ones? (Me-I've now joined a gym. Your turn...)

@@Knitchic I researched these ProYo frozen yogurt treats and you're right, while they are high in Protein, they are very high in sugar. You inspired me to come up with a frozen treat which was high in Protein but low in sugar and still tasted good, so here goes:
    Premier Protein pudding Pops

2 cups Premier chocolate protein shakes
1 small pkg Jello sugar-free/fat-free instant pudding (dry mix)

Prepare pudding according to package directions replacing milk with chocolate Premier Protein shake. I prefer to use my NutriBullet but if using shaker, shake for 3 minutes or until thickened slightly. Pour into Jello pudding pop molds or any popsicle molds. Jello molds hold 1/3 cup each and are what the Nutrition info is based upon. Place in the freezer to set (approx. 2-3 hours). You can use any flavor pudding. I also made vanilla.
    Nutrition (Protein Pudding Pops)
    Serving size: 2 pops (5 1/3 oz.)
    Calories 124
    Fat 1g
    Carbs 13g
    Fiber 3g
    Sugars 0g
    Protein 16g
    Nutrition (ProYo)
    Serving size: 4 oz. tube
    Calories 140
    Fat 2g
    Carbs 16g
    Fiber 3g
    Sugars 13g
    Protein 20g
You can certainly have just one pop but I listed the nutrition info as 2 for a better comparison to the ProYo. Next I will try breaking up either a Quest Cookies and cream or brownie Protein Bar, toasting it in the oven and then pulsing it in my mini food processor. I think adding in a few of the crunchy crumbs would make for an interesting texture to the bar. I'll let you know how that turns out

So, today marks my first month surgiversary as it has been four weeks since I underwent RNY.
I have lost 25 pounds since surgery and with another 15 pre-op, that brings my grand total WL to 40 pounds. I don't know why but that number disappoints me (in me head) but my heart tells me I should be stoked. My head and my heart have never had the most compatible of relationships but they are working on being more cordial.
I don't have much to complain about. I went back to work ten days post-op and have no issues with energy or GI problems. I did have some inconveniences with vitamins/timing/fluid intake/protein goals after going back to work. But as of today, I have worked out those kinks and am hitting my fluid/protein/vitamin goals with much ease.
I feel great. My incisions haven't been a source of discomfort since about five days out and I have more energy, better sleep quality and less physical pain than I have since my 21st birthday. It does get better everyday and for those of you struggling, please, please, please keep that in mind. I know it sounds cliche but truly believe that it does get better everyday and the discomfort you are feeling now will dissipate. One day you will wake up and look back on the hard parts and think "it was worth it to get to the way I am feeling now!"
It is normal to feel emotional, frustrated, overwhelmed, scared and "not complete." It is normal to question your decision and it's worthiness. It was a major life changing event and it will sometimes feel like it was a mistake. It only feels that way because sometimes the most rewarding, most challenging and most powerful decisions in life are the hardest to get a grip on. They also happen to be the ones we will never regret and make our lives better in ways we never thought possible.
For those of you feeling lost or don't have a lot of support, while I maybe "new" in my journey, I'm a great listener and don't want anyone to feel alone in theirs. Reach out to me and together we can be each other's support. Sometimes all we need is an ear to bend to feel better.
Good luck to everyone in their journey; rather ten years in on two weeks pre-op, we all deserve a pat on the back!

The only thing that stops me from picking these up at my local store is the sugar is 13g, which is higher than what I was recommended.
Unfortunately I don't see a place where they can be ordered online, but I do see that you can submit a request to your local store or Amazon.com and ask that they stock these items. Worth a shot maybe!? :/
If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone..I'm having a hard time getting my Protein in myself. I can't stomach most Protein drinks because they make me nauseous. Good luck and hang in there!
