Keke74 got a reaction from Cervidae in Scared of food getting stuck
Take a deep breath and relax. Think of all the health benefits you will gain. Think on how great life will become for you after. It is so worth it to dwell on the positive.

Keke74 got a reaction from Dub in Getting there by any means available.......UHC can kiss my........
Congratulations!!! I just cannot understand the insurance world. We pay all of this money in premiums and they still get to decide how or when or if we are able to use our own insurance to improve our lives. The worst part about it is there is nothing we can do about it. I'm so glad you were able to still find a way to have your surgery. Good luck and keep us updated.

Keke74 got a reaction from Grace2115 in 2 week liquid diet, I'm hungry!
Call your doctor and see if you can have something in addition to liquids. My preop diet consisted of two Protein Shakes (breakfast and lunch), two pieces of fruit (morning and evening snack) and a light dinner each night. They just might allow you to have something. But either way hang in there. You can do this. The payoff is so worth it.

Keke74 got a reaction from betrthnever in Yeah approved for a revision!...But getting married in December...thoughts?
I had my surgery on 7/2/15. I went back to work in 2 weeks and it has been smooth sailing since then. I haven't had any issues. It really just depends on you. But you probably will need to get your dress altered again, because you will lose pretty quickly in the beginning.

Keke74 got a reaction from GBLady41 in How bad is the pain after surgery?
The bulk of the pain comes from the gas. That is the worst. The earlier you get up after surgery and start walking the better you will feel. Gas-X strips also works wonders. This is coming from someone that has a very low pain tolerance.

Keke74 got a reaction from WinchSight in Hey, how long did you take off from work after surgery?
I took off 10 days, including my hospital stay. Today is my first day back to work and so far so good. I wish I could have taken more time though. Getting all my food prepared for the day was a chore and I keep forgetting to eat and drink. I don't have a set routine yet. As far as pain is concerned, I didn't have any once I returned home (and I have a very low pain tolerance!!!). I walk 30 min everyday on the treadmill, so my energy level is pretty good today. I say take as much time as you are allowed. You can always choose to go back earlier than planned, if you feel you are ready.

Keke74 got a reaction from kbmerritt84 in cigna approval
I have Cigna also. I didn't lose any weight during my 6 months of supervised weight loss attempts and they still approved me.
