  1. Yes, unfortunately. It causes you to have bad breath too, no matter how good your oral hygiene is. My NUT said it is because our bodies are going through ketosis. She said, it gets better, I'm still waiting on it. I just keep some sugar free cinnamon gum on hand at all times and make sure to get all of my fluids in. That helps a little bit.
  2. Take a deep breath and relax. Think of all the health benefits you will gain. Think on how great life will become for you after. It is so worth it to dwell on the positive.
  3. I have cigna. Once I completed all of the requirements , I was approved within 2 days. I didn't have any problems at all
  4. Call your doctor and see if you can have something in addition to liquids. My preop diet consisted of two protein shakes (breakfast and lunch), two pieces of fruit (morning and evening snack) and a light dinner each night. They just might allow you to have something. But either way hang in there. You can do this. The payoff is so worth it.
  5. I'm a few months post-op and I don't have any cravings or hunger at all. It makes it really hard for me to eat. I just have to schedule my meals to remain consistent and make sure I get all of my requirements in for the day.
  6. I pretty much drink my protein shake and water. Every now and then i drink Crystal light. But it is all I can do to get all of my liquids in, so If I try to drink too many things, it just gets to be too much
  7. That is Awesome!! Can't wait to hear about it.
  8. Wow!!! That is amazing. I have not yet built up the courage to join any of the classes at my gym yet. It is a goal though.
  9. Yes it looks thinner. Congrats on the weight loss.
  10. Congratulations!!! I just cannot understand the insurance world. We pay all of this money in premiums and they still get to decide how or when or if we are able to use our own insurance to improve our lives. The worst part about it is there is nothing we can do about it. I'm so glad you were able to still find a way to have your surgery. Good luck and keep us updated.
  11. What problems are you having?
  12. I had my surgery on 7/2/15. I went back to work in 2 weeks and it has been smooth sailing since then. I haven't had any issues. It really just depends on you. But you probably will need to get your dress altered again, because you will lose pretty quickly in the beginning.
  13. It just depends on the Dr
  14. That is awesome !!!!
  15. Congratulations and good luck.
  16. The bulk of the pain comes from the gas. That is the worst. The earlier you get up after surgery and start walking the better you will feel. Gas-X strips also works wonders. This is coming from someone that has a very low pain tolerance.
  17. My experience was awesome. The nurses at St Francis took very good care of me. They were also very knowledgeable. I had my surgery 7/2/15. So far I have lost about 52 lbs. I have not had any major issues. I just have to remember to eat at times. Overall I think I am progressing well. I have attended a few support groups and they are helpful. I just wish they were more often.
