Hi Theresa, I was denied because I was neither fat enough nor sick enough. I was told to either get sick or gain 13 pounds so I could have the surgery! LOL So in my attempt to meet my insurance companies guideline < bmi of 40 or bmi of less than 40 with one co-morbidity> my blood pressure became unmanageable and thats how I was approved. But yes it took 5 times, keep at it. Read your insurance companies guidlines and go from there. I hope this helps. Lana

Hi Dillon1205, If it makes you feel any better I was denied 5 times before I finally got approved...it just means they will try again...make the necessary changes and simply try again. Don't "read" anything into it...if they deny you again...Find out why and re-appy!:cursing: Best of luck, Lana

All points are valid...I am out almost 6 months give or take a few days. About 2 months ago my Dh reached over to grab me...nothing left to grab in that area. No sagging or anything its just tighter skin that I can no longer grab a hold of. So to answer your question, Yes your vagina can shrink with weight loss. Good luck on your journey! And sex "feels" different, I mean the good kinda different!

Hi Mona, Been there...have you checked your insurances website for lapband criteria? That is where I started I went by their rules ans sought approveal. I hope this helps, good luck Lana

Hey, It was my 4th fill that has me at restriction, its not my sweet spot but I am lossing slowly but surely...according to this post 4 seems to be the lucky number!

Hi there liteweighttrina, I have the same problem, and I have heard that this is shared by many others. I read a few fitness articles that say you cannot spot train with weight loss. It will come off where ever it wants to it has a biological order...just keep up the work and the scale will start to move again. Good luck and best wishes!

Hi Emily, I know your struggle! I had surgery May 21, 2008 and have only lost 16 pounds...I wanted to give up as well. But my wonderful husband reminded me that this is the SLOW way to get it done. Your band does not actually work until there is sufficent restriction, that is what your fills are about...keep getting those fills until you feel some restriction. I had my 4th fill last week and I am feeling better and I lost 3 pounds since, but I am still not quite there yet. So I will continue to exercise & eat well until I have another fill. I hope this helps and there is a name for what your going through its called BANDSTER HELL... I wish you only the very best with your journey!

Sorry to hear yor doc is being an ass, he must be under the ill informed impression that ignorance is bliss. I am sure he has a reason for doing what he's doing but those numbers are important to EVERYONE with a band. I would try to be sly and find out some way. Who is the maker of the band...what sizes are manufactured....larger framed people tend to get the larger band where as smaller people tend to get the small or standard band. Your doc is an ass...

Wow, so much sadness tangled with joy.

I did consider Dr. Waldrep but he does not take my insurance, I had surgery with Dr Koura and yes I paid his program fee, and yes I agree its a rip off because if you don't go to the support meetings you don't get a refund! Besides the program fee Dr Koura is a good doctor, he seems caring and attentative and I don't regret my decision...but I could really use $750 dollars right now! Good luck!

Hi Gigi, I am about 4 months out and my scars are healing quit well. They have always been small but as I heal they get smaller. There are plenty of pics on this site of other people scars, best wishes!
