My doctor is making me mad!

:mad:My doctor has not told me what size band I have, nor will he tell me how many CC's of fills I have had. I have had 2 fills since my surgery on 08/05/08. I have lost 28 pounds and I want to lose about 75 more. I am a Bookkeeper so numbers are really important to me, he will not tell me my numbers. I know I can eat way more than I should. I have the ability to overeat, and I do. I wouldn't have needed the surgery if it were easy for me not to overeat. I don't want to be rude but I want to know my numbers. Why does my doctor not want to talk numbers?

Sorry to hear yor doc is being an ass, he must be under the ill informed impression that ignorance is bliss. I am sure he has a reason for doing what he's doing but those numbers are important to EVERYONE with a band. I would try to be sly and find out some way. Who is the maker of the band...what sizes are manufactured....larger framed people tend to get the larger band where as smaller people tend to get the small or standard band. Your doc is an ass...

ugh I hate drs like this!! my dr said that now most drs in the US use the 10cc band. the new one. when I want to know the fill amount the nurse does not like to tell me because she thinks we will become mental about it you know like say I only have 1cc she thinks if I know this I will tell myself I need another fill when really I dont you know make things up in my head.. I dont know if this is true or not but I know when I am hungry lol

oh I have an Ideal you can call your dr office and ask what type of band does he use on his patients also ask if he fills the band during surgery or if its empty when he places it. Just act like your a new patient needing info :mad2:

If there's an emergency it might be helpful to have this information. Maybe get another Dr. to ask like your PCP or something. OR here's another thing, get copies of your office visits, it should have the information in there.

When I was banded I left the hospital was a little card that had the brand, the size and the serial # of the band printed on it.

It says Inamed 10cm 4cc and the serial # of the band for me to carry in my wallet in case of emergency. They also gave me the films from my post surgery upper GI.

Hey Jazzly,

Do you think the nurse at your doctor's office would be more willing than he is to help you? Might be worth a try. I'm getting banded on Monday, 1/26.

i think in some cases which is very sad these doctors not all but some this is a job just that nothing less nothing more..they have no feelings for the person and could care less ,you need to pass the word who this person is and hopefully some will go elswhere ..my thoughts . take care
