Don't forget why you had the band (Tops List)
I want to cross my legs and not have to exchange it every 3 minutes because the leg got too heavy. I want to be able to sit indian style and not be in pain. I want to run down the steps and not hurt or feel pain in any of my ankles. I want to run up steps and continue to my vehicle and be able to breathe normal. I want to get on a ride without having to worry about weight. I want to be told I am a complete pretty package vs just a pretty face.

Middle BMI BANDSTERS 40.0 to 48!!!!
Ok so update!!! I had my psych eval. It went well. Actually Piece of cake. He was awesome! as I entered the office he said to take a comfy spot and make myself at home. He had very nice furniture. Has nice soft relaxing music in the background that he turned off once we officially began. He just asked regular questions to get to know you and where in life you are such as married, education, children, extended family life, friends, extended support system you may have..etc. Then he began asking more information has co morbidities if any, explained lap-band procedure, gave some statistics about it, stressed on finding support online or via groups for a better sucess rate longterm. He asked general questions regarding thoughts or how you perceive yourself, etc. Types of diets, what plans, weight history. Then came a written psych eval....He determined based on my previous answers I qualified for the short version. Which as jst4kel mentioned do you hear voices? Do you have hallucinations? and open ended questions for me to answer like..... When I was a child _______________ I just wrote in a sentence. At the end he came into the exam room looked over the written calculated points....and informed me I passed and that he would provide his summary and report directly to the insurance company, to the surgeon, to my PCP and mail me one as well. He was great! Not at all what I expected....even better....

Excited and Terrified!
Hi there.... I am on the same boat as AudricIan. My husband does not even know. He knows I am having a surgery but does not know anything else. He is sometimes supportive, and sometimes he is not. I did ask him if I lost all this weight and kept it off for 6 months would he pay for a Tummy Tuck. And surprisingly he said yes. I mean he does spoil me at times, but when it comes to that kind of stuff not so much. I don't blame him all the diets I have done, all the money spent...the track record is not in my favor. But I know once he starts to see the difference he will be very supportive. My mother is also my support besides this website. She is even excited for me. As to your hubby I am sure once he begans to see your loss and notice your health and energy levels get better and better and see that you don't go back to old ways...who knows he might even go down the same path with you. Just be open minded!

Lap-band vs. Bypass? HELP!
Remember slower..doesn't have to be a bad thing... 1. People will think you lost it by just diet and exercise without any tools 2. Your skin...skin...skin....has time to heal...so it tends to not hang as terrible as on gastric bypass patients from what I've seen that is a plus any day in my book!

1/2 leg left on the wagon!
Jacole, I have heard from others that when you are on a medically supervised program required by insurance company that if you loose great but they are just looking to see if you will continue to fight and pursue this. Show them you can do it! Remotivate.....or if right now you can't focus on loosing...try not to gain any.....

Psychological Exam & Liquid Diet Options?
My Life Back, I promised to post after I came back from the psych eval. Here it goes..... Piece of cake. Oprah Show today
JFC193 thanks for that post. To you and everyone else I guess I can take back my own words.... I am glad Star decided to tell her story. And what a story...it is very motivational....because I too ask myself...how did I allow myself to weight almost 230lbs. I might have been ranting too much.. But any loss should be greatly celebrating with WLS, diet pills or plain old fashion eating and exercising..... It's just upsetting when people in the celebrity spotlight don't want to motivate others.

Psychological Exam & Liquid Diet Options?
I have my psych eval today. I will post tonight and let you know how it goes. My surgeon does not have a liquid pre-op diet. He does not have a preop diet for low BMI'ers. I questioned him about what I have read about the liver...he said that is usually the case for people with BMI over 44 He did not give me a diet for preop... he just said don't do the last meal syndrome or eat everything and anything ...follow normal eating and journal calorie count and gave me the range of calories I can eat and not gain. He suggested to start trying protein so when I get banded I know what works best for me and the diff tastes that you can buy outthere. He suggested Unjury protein. Surprisingly others on this site have suggested Unjury as well. I gave it a try...! It can be bought at the Vitamin Shoppe but you can order directly from them and it is cheaper! Welcome to the UNJURY Homepage I ordered the sample chocolate and loved it. I have now ordered to taste the other flavors. But I think I will be staying with Unjury. Hope this helps!

My doctor does not want any carbonated drinks neither. Or any drinks with empty calories.. But wine is allowed just seldom once or twice a month he said will be fine.
