Amy, I am so glad your husband is so supportive. I have not told my husband. He knows I am having surgery and will be there surgery day, and afterwards for help/care. But he does not know what procedure I am having or anything else. He is smart...I think he kind of knows what it is but is probably not sure..... I am just ashamed to let him know I have let myself be the weight that I am. Plus he does not have a clue to what I actually weight...many people quote me at 60 lbs less than what I actually am....I guess I have mastered the dress to hide it well

Oh...I love to flirt...I'm a flirt all around....I am even told I flirt when I know I wasn't even trying to....oh well... but the weight issue does change the confidence...as I was a more flirt back at 125 lbs...or even at 145 than now...plus I am married now.... I am still told even by my own husband....why were you flirting...i think i do it naturally... but I did have an issue with it when it was unwelcomed when I was at a lighter weight.... I hope I will learn this time around how to handle that mentally..

AMY.....WELCOME!!! We are honored this is your first post....and we look forward to many more to come! You should tell us what your journey was like once you decided to pursue the band..... LOL StLouisGal......I should have known by your thread name but I didn't want to assume anything.... And to think of it...you haven't told me about your journey neither once you decided to pursue the band...What hoops did you have to jump thru? We will be sending positive vibes your way as well for approval..~~~~ :nervous In the meantime we shall all be nervous wrecks together!!!!:clap2::nervous

Maybe your sister is asking all these questions not to be of such a bother but for herself. Perhaps since you mentioned she is overweight is attempting to see if she takes the lapband journey herself to imagine what it would be like. I would suggest a private conversation between the two of you and ask her directly you might be surprised she just doesnt have the courage or might think you will be catty (meow) if she wants to research that route for herself. Many people verbally speak that are overweight that it doesn't bother them..but deep down or behind closed doors it does. Even if she doesn't admit it to you after a nice private conversation...... at least answer all her questions and educate her about it.... you might be surprised down the road when she opens up and tells you she wants to control her weight and needs the help!

Ok...I called the insurance company because so many people have stories on them not having all the paperwork...or not receiving it until like 15 days later than when it was faxed....so I mustered up some courage and called.... the first call was unsucessful and I was fustrated....but I felt she just didn't care or didn't feel like giving good service(probably overworked today as lots of people like to take off around the holidays) so I called back to the precert number on the back for providers...oops...oh well...the service rep was excellent..she even put me on hold and spoke to the people that process the approvals and she said they received all 15 pages and have 7 to 15 days to return a decision which is normally how they process....other than that then they have until 1/14/08 at the latest for me to hear back.... awesome..... nervous now..and just praying I fall in the 7-15 business days(excluding holidays and weekends) with an approval..... otherwise...we are looking at February...yikes.... please pray....I will be until my knees bleed! :pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

I'm so sorry to hear that....that should not even be allowed to happen. But like I was telling StLouisgal it is a shame that our medical providers can do that.... So listening to the stories here...guess what I did...I called my insurance.. The first call was not great....' She gave me another number...which was a wrong number and not even working.. So I called the precert number in the back of the card.... I spoke to an excellent rep who even put me on hold and spoke to the precert dept and told me they did receive all 15 pages on 12/17/07....but that they take 7-15 business days to make a decision and can even take up to more...but I should have a final hear back tops latest by January 14, 2008. So if I don't get to hear from them in the first couple of day...it looks like I will be turning into a February bandster or even later too.... but like you I too won't be holding my breathe...but will be whispering prayers to the Lord!:pray::pray::pray:

:cryI don't blame you...I think I would call everyday too....it will definitely show you are very interested in getting this done and it shows your follow up potential which is what seems to be the sucess with the band!!!! Am here for you if you ever need to vent...or just let..the tears.....:think.....fall.... that is terrible.....and to think between our employers and ourselves all the money we give to them....jeezzz..

I am not banded yet...but I am a stomach sleeper.. I do have a good bed....even when i weighed 120 lbs I was a stomach sleeper...always have been.... this reminds me of my pregnancy and how it bothers to sleep on your stomach...I am sure it is like anything...once you get to a point..you don't care...you just fall asleep...on your back like never before!

yes...I think that was usually a trigger for me that it was ok to eat this and that...and next thing I knew gained it right back

destinedtobefree, your process sounds like mine informational seminar 11/15 1st consultation 11/28 psych appt 12/3 mandatory support meeting 12/5 preop testings 12/12 PCP letter 12/12 dietician 12/11 submitted to insurance 12/17/07....except I am just waiting for approval.... awesome!!!

My doctor does the same, we go home the same day from procedure they just monitor and do the fluro. I don't think it is a biggie...unless needed for medical reasons or anyother that he might want to keep you it is same day procedure.

I am waiting on approval for surgery...so I dont' want to start a challenge yet...just willing to take suggestions. I don't watch the biggest looser.... I used to but lost track after season 2. I will check out this push.tv thing though!
