  1. I had my last fill at 103kg(227lbs). I have been cruising along for a couple of months now with great restriction and have got down to 97kgs(213lbs). Over the last 2 weeks or so I have noticed the restriction going away and I am eating more and more each day. Today I thought I would give bread a try to see whether I could have it now or not. Well it went down fine. At dinner time tonight I had what I usually do but was starving again 1 hr later. I know this means I probably need another fill right? Would this be because I have lost weight since my last fill and my stomach has shrunk some? What concerns me is after the last fill I developed heartburn after I eat...is getting another fill going to make it worse? What do you think I should do? I am already at 8.9 mls in the VG band...I dont have a great deal to play with, and I am still relatively early in my journey *sigh*. Any advice or explanation greatly appreciated
  2. Woooooooohoooooooooo Jess....My eyes are sooooo green right now WTG!!!!!!! Ill see you there soon...I hope
  3. Ditto Jess....but I dont know why either.
  4. I cant imagine what that would be like, we dont have anything like that where I am. You will all be in my thoughts, and I hope everyone gets out safe. Be safe!!! Good Luck
  5. Hi About 5 days after my surgery I developed a really bad taste in my mouth with a film over my tongue. I went back to the doctors and they said it was thrush from the surgery. It is very common after surgery. I hated it it was a terrible taste and I hated the feel of it on my tongue. I went to the chemist and got some over the counter stuff for it and it cleared up in about 3 days after that. Go to the chemist they will be able to tell just by looking at it if it is thrush and you can get some stuff for it and it will be cleared up pretty quickly compared to if you just let it run its course. Good Luck
  6. Congratulations!! Its great to hear wonderful success stories...helps other like me soldier on.
  7. I have just presumed for the last few months that I have reflux or something...Dr did a barium swallow 2 visits ago and everything was fine so I havent worried much about it. I went and seen him about 6 weeks ago and he gave me some meds for the burning which I have taken, but it has got to the stage that just about everytime I eat I get this burning in my chest, it doest go into my throat or bring anything up with it, its just like really BAD heartburn. Does anyone else get this? I dont want to get any more fills because I am scared this will get worse. I am at a loss.
  8. WTG!!!!!!! Oh the day to see a size 16. Dont forget just jeans sizes are really small too, so thats EVEN BETTER!!!!!! Congratulations
  9. Yes, about 2 or so days after I got a terrible cough. It got to the stage that I held a pillow tightly on my stomach when I coughed because it hurt so much and I was scared of doing some harm to the band or cuts. The cough disappeared at about week 2 and no harm was done.
  10. I answered "Yes". I too change my mind like I change my undies, but at this present time, if I lost my band I would revise to BBS.
  11. I have been emailing and talking to surgeons also. I am going to have an uplift and TT in January to give me enough time to heal before my wedding in Sept. My friend had a TT a month after my banding, the first few days she said she wouldnt do it over again, but now she said she would. It was the pain talking, her belly looks awesome, all flat and sexy. The ppl I have talked to do say it is painful but all say it is sooooo worth it. You going to get any lipo on the flanks or anything Jess?
  12. WOW!!! You have done such AWESOME job. You are an inspiration
  13. WTG!!! Its great to have a Dr who understands. It wont be long before you are at goal. Do you still have any pain from your surgery? Good Luck
  14. Woooohooooooooo .... What a party we are going to have *Praying to the finance gods for you *
  15. WTG Jessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!! You skinny minny. Im flying to Canberra in October, hopefull my fat rear end will fit in nicely.
  16. Hi I dont really know about the midband, but I seen your ticker...are you only 75kgs/165lbs? If so, how tall are you if you dont mind me asking. I hope all goes well for your op, and see you on the other side.
  17. I cant eat fries either, doesnt matter where they are from they block.
  18. I just wanted to add, it probably isnt even fat you put on, more likely fluid. Every month since my banding I have tracked my weight at that time of the month. 1 week before I go up 4.5 lbs and 1 week later it just disappears...so remember that when your weight fluctuates throughout the month.
  19. 2lbs isnt much. They say the first few months are for healing...dont expect weight loss. Well look at you, you have lost the same amount in 2 mths as I have lost in 5 months. You are doing an awesome job, and until you have found your right level of restriction, you shouldnt expect much weight loss. Dont worry, tommorow is a new day, jump back on the wagon and you will be fine. That is the great thing about the band - TOMMOROW IS ALWAYS A NEW DAY! Good Luck
  20. WOW!!!!!!! WTG!!! That is amazing. Never be ashamed of your weight here, we are all going through the same thing. You have lost an enormous amount of weight, hold your head and be proud. Awesome job.
  21. How do you check if you are in ketosis?
  22. I quit the day of my surgery. The only thing I can say is I got that cough you get when you give up that is bringing all the crap up, and it really hurt to cough post op. I had that for about 5 days and ewwwwww. Unfortunately I took it back up 3 weeks ago, smokes were never out of my mind for longer than 5 mins at a time and I was too weak and gave in. I will work on giving it up when I have this weight loss thing under control. The 2 of them at the same time was just too hard for me. I hope you can give up, if you cant dont be too hard on yourself, it is one of the hardest things in the world to give up. Good Luck
  23. I have joined the gym and seen the personal trainer who has made a prgramme for me to suit what I need. She is mainly working on my abs at the moment to try and minimise this hanging fat and skin from my belly. The scales had stopped moving until I got into gym again, so exercise does work!!! I go each morning after I have dropped the kids off at school and work out for an hr 5 days per week. I was so unmotivated about exercising, but once you start it will be easy. Good Luck
