  1. Its kinda funny, but not in a funny way, before I was banded I never got sick. I am seeming to get everything going around now since banding. It has been a bad winter here with lots of colds etc and I have got each and every one of them. I havent been well over the last few days so I went to the doctors and got checked out today and found out I have an ear infection, a throat infection, chest infection and sinuitis(sp). I am on 2 different antibiotics and an over the counter sinus med. Is this the case with anyone else, or do I maybe need to get back on the vitamins?
  2. Good on Ya!!! Want to pass me some of that energy. I really need it!
  3. Therese.. Hiyas, Hows things? I hope I didnt offend you. I didnt mean to imply you werent told, was just saying that I wasnt. Havent talked to many QLDers, maybe it is a QLD thing. I have cut it down alot, I was a 2lt diet coke drinker each day, now I just have a can of sprite zero a few times a week. Good to see you
  4. I have a suggestion to undies creeping and thats a G String. Permanant creepers!!
  5. Im in Australia and was never told no carbonation either. Havent heard any of my bandster friends over here being told that either. I have a sprite zero a few times a week.
  6. Woooohoooooo!!!! Congrats, I hope when my 1 yr bandiversary comes up, I cant be as successful as you have been. Well done....You should be sooo very proud of yourself.
  7. I just got over PMS, every month without fail no matter how good I have been...I BINGE!!! For 4 of the days I eat whatever I can get my hands on. I crave sweets and I crave fatty foods. I am exactly the same with the cant just have a few, I think to myself well I have had a few I may as well eat the whole packet, tub whatever. I would say you would have to be strong as iron to ignore the PMS cravings. I know I cant. PS I dont think the post was much help to you...just comiserating with you.
  8. Thank you for such an inspiration post truely written from the heart.
  9. Mine varies also, but I never immediately felt it...It on average took about 8 days or so. All of my fills have been like that.

  11. Time for another update April buddies!!!! Going along slowly but surely here. Down app 50 lbs here. I have browsed others and see I am on the slow end of losing, wish it was faster but I am happy. I still have the slight heartburn, but my Dr gave me some meds for it at last visit. I still have 8.9mls in and havent had a fill in about 2 months. Let me know how you are all going and what you are up to now.
  12. Jess, I missed it, I forgot all about it. What was in the story? Tell me all plzzzzzzz
  13. WTG!!!!!!!!!! The countdown begins....Congrats!
  14. Hiyaaaa Therese, Good to see you. Yes I have recovered...just. No more tequila shots for me If that is true about WA, I will go there, would much rather that then overseas. Do you have more info about it, I would be interested to know. Good to see you!!
  15. I seen that, I will be watching it. I have already got some quotes through from GG for surgery in Malaysia. The ocst for what I want done is under half what I would pay here. It is a risk and I am still deciding if it is what I am going to do. Ill see what Ray has to say about it. PS Jess, You are doing so well with your weight loss, keep up the good work....PPS wanna come to Malaysia with me next year..lmao
  16. Mine was about the same, now it is 35 or so, but my body fat % is 55%....ewwwwwww that is terrible...from all the years of starving myself and losing lean muscle tissue. it really disgusts me when I think that 55% of my body is FAT!!
  17. Hi That is how I was, and sometimes still am. If someone posts something about a slip or symptoms they have, I will start talking myself into maybe having the symptoms also. I am really scared of what can happen, but kind of console myself with the fact that if I take care of my band everything will be ok. When I went onto solids after fluids etc I put on about 5kg, and just went up and down 2 kgs or so for the next month or more. Once I found restriction after 8 fills, the weight started coming off again. It is all about healing in the first 6 weeks and in most ppl the band is really not alot unless it is filled properly. I just wanted to let you know that all your worries and concerns are normal and what most of us feel as well.
  18. Hi Your story is exactly the same as mine. It took 8 fills and 8.9mls for me to get restriction. The fill before this one took me up to 7.5mls and I didnt feel different. The last one was the one that made all the difference. Unfortunately with the band came heartburn for me, thats the only thing I can complain about. So just remember even if this fill isnt the right one, it wont be far off. I know so many ppl with the VG band that arent finding restriction till about 8mls. Good Luck
  19. I can still drink water and fluids like before with expection to milk. I can not eat my food fast though. I take my time and chew everything alot before swallowing, a few bad PBs taught me that
  20. I never had an infection or anything but my incision especially the port one hurt for a good 3 weeks or so before they started to feel better. I remember it hurting more at night too and I couldnt sleep on my side for a couple of weeks.
  21. I was about to go to bed and thought Id catch up with some posts. Well I finished all this thread and I am hanging for a diet coke and pizza. Literally craving it. Its so weird the way it happens, I cant imagine having to smell the stuff all day and not be able to eat it. You are doing really well to come this far, I agree with the Do not feed Lisa sign and a tape recoring on your desk that you push play when she comes in while you put some headphones on and let the recording do the work. No I do not want any type of junk food. hit repeat!!! Surely she will get the hint talking to a recording.
  22. Wow, I just know not to attempt no snacking or fizzy. So will do the 30 days without chocolate. Day 1 without chocolate
  23. Me too, then I lose a bigger amount a week or so later. You are doing awesome Jess, dont worry about it.
  24. Those are great NSVs, I am so with you on the ring thing. My engagement ring had to be enlarged and even then it got too tight, now it is on my index finger ... weeeee
  25. I have had 8 fills and I have good restriction. I didnt feel much difference till about my 4th or 5th fill. I have 8.9mls in a VG 10 ml band. A few of my friends with the same band had immediate restriction with their first fill, some have had more than me. It depends on the size of the band and the size of your stomach. Everyones internals are different. Thats another thing I learnt at the conference when I asked why I have so much in my band and only just have restriction and others have 1 fill and have immediate restriction.
