  5. Just wanted to add that I have had 7 fills so far. As we all have to learn, patience is the key with this band *sigh* Good Luck
  6. I was thinking the wall...but then I have to clean it up and I am far too lazy to do that
  7. Happened to me too once. I said nothing was wrong twice, the third time I told them I am watching what i eat trying to lose weight. That usually shuts them up lol.
  8. Lol DeLarla....I do that too. The only way I have found to stop myself eating is when I am full I do something to the food left on my plate so I cant eat it. Things like lots of tabasco sauce, water and salt. I know...crazy...but whatever works.
  9. Thanks everyone, I was kinda good yesterday. Tommorow I will start with protein and go go go.
  10. Only wanted to say "Be Safe". Hope everything goes well.
  11. Hi I have the 10 ml band and have had 7 fills. Up until the last one my restriction was lasting about 1 to 2 weeks before going. I prayed it would last but never did till this time. It has lasted a month this time...I have had a binging session the last few days but thats nothing to do with restriction because when I eat good food I have restriction, I only dont have it as Im eating every little it of junk I can get my hands on. In most cases it does take longer to get restriction in the bigger band. But it will come.
  12. Im not sure what it is, but I had it after my last fill. i now have 8.2ml in my 10ml band. I have had 7 fills with no real restriction so I wanted to ride it out a bit to see if it stayed or went. I had it for about 2 weeks and it went. So I dont know what it is or why I had it, but sounds pretty similiar to what you have.
  13. to get back on track after being naughty? I read this statement a little while ago and well....after this weekend I can well and truely relate. I went to a bandsters lunch at an all you can eat. I had great restriction when I walked in I swear. I walked out after eating everything I had felt like the past couple of months. At dinner time I thought I may as well have junk since I had already blown it that day and start good eating the next day. Woke up Sunday and did the same and again today. *sigh* I just cant seem to get back on track and the 2kg weight gain since Saturday doesnt seem to be helping me. Any ideas? *Help*
  14. I have the big band to and have had 7 - 8 fills. I am up to 8.2ml with some good restriction. With the big band the first 4 mls only fills the tubing, it doesnt actually tighten the band much. After you reach 4mls, the fills after that should start showing some restriction. This is onl what I was told by my Dr and what I have experienced, it may be different for you. Good Luck
  15. I probably would have tried this before getting the band, but now I really have to train myself to take smaller bites for the rest of my life. I really cant stand the thought of spending $13 000 for my band then more money on something else to help me take smaller bites lol.
  16. Same here. I think back to all the time I was smaller and think how I used to think I was soooooo fat. I cant remember a time that I didnt think I was fat or needed to lose some weight. I wonder how I will be when I get to goal. I have alot of loose skin on my tummy and I know I will definately need surgery to fix it...maybe after having that done I may be alot happier with who I am. What does it take to be happy with who you are when you have spent an entire life hating or not liking who you are?
  17. After my last post I have had another fill since. I had great restriction for a week or so then it was gone. This time it has been nearly 4 weeks. It has taken 6 or so fills and 8.2mls to get some good restriction. *Note to myself* Ice Cream is always going to go down easily
  18. I have the big band also. My Dr put 2ml in during surgery and I had restriction for about a month. I have since had another 5 fills (restriction lasting about a week each fill) taking me up to 8.2ml and some great restriction. It has been nearly 4 weeks since my last fill and the restriction is still here...fingers crossed.
  19. I had one friend who is also big. When I first mentioned the surgery to her when I was thinking about it, she asked a few questions and then never said another word...after telling me she would never do something like that. She didnt talk to me for quite a while. The next time I heard from her (app 1 month) I had had the op and lost 10 kg. I never mentioned the op and she never asked until a week or more after that. Again she asked me a few questions and told me how she would never do that, she talked to me in a very condescending tone and threw a few sarcastic remarks in and left. She has not contacted me since...3 months. I am upset, but think if thats how much our friendship meant to her then so be it. I could have really used her by my side a few times over the last few months.
  20. I was banded on the 4th April this year and mine still gets sore all the time...especially after housework, bending or other things. My Dr said it was normal and all is ok.
  21. Well, TOM is now leaving and today I have been so much more restricted again. It really is wierd, maybe it might have something to do with cravings while having them. I know I have felt like chocolate sooooooo bad.
  22. I was banded April 4th this year and had a really bad bruise under my port scar. It went away after about 8 weeks and then came back again. I went and seen my doc and he said its just a little bleeding under the skin and completely normal. Mine all up ended up being there for about 11 weeks before clearing up.
  23. After having this problem myself the only advice I can offer is are you eating enough?? Are you getting enough protein in? Are you taking in enough fluids? These are the things that I had to look at when my weight loss stopped. Funnily enough when I started eating more the weight started coming off. If you are only eating small emounts your body will go into starvation mode and hold onto every little thing it can. It cant hurt to give it a try for a week and see how it goes. Good Luck
  24. This is my 4th time having my periods since being banded. I only realised it last month that everytime I have had them since being banded I am able to eat so much more than any other time. Anyone else?
  25. They had me up first thing the next morning showering too. It felt soooo good.
