Making it through diet restrictions
What she told you is how you will probably want to eat after you get good restriction. Of course you can still have the things you love. Just not as much as before.

Heimlich Maneuver and lapband question
If you mean "would it work?" the answer is yes. The food chokeing you would be up much higher in your throat and the air being forced from your lungs is what pops out the food.

I got my surgery date!!!
April 23 will be here before you know it. I'm happy for you. I know how hard it is to wait. I'm constantly having a hard time not eating (but I don't have good restriction) I try to keep drinking water and I walk now that the weather is getting better.

DeLarla's Dating Service for Single Bandsters
I am looking for a man of any kind with a big Motorhome, money for gas, enough of his wits left to drive it and a hankering to see the US. He must be laid back and have a sense of humor. He must be satisfied with a fat and soon to be saggy old lady with poor memory, no desire to cook for him, no desire to clean said motor home, no desire to please him in much of any way. Oh, and he must be willing to travel to Baraboo, Wi to let my family check him out (6 sisters and a bunch of grown kids) Thats all. You shouldn't have any problem.

Where did the shopping list go?
The wiping was no problem after banding for me. I wasn't nearly that uncomfortable. But last May I had lower back surgery and the hospital gave me a butt wiping gadget made espically for hard reaches. I think everyone gets it, not just obese ppl. It was far from ideal but helped cut down stretching and twisting and bending and cussing!

Are We ready for a Black President?
This sentence is the one I was refering to. "some kinds of mends" Maybe I mis-understood but I took it to mean that whites in America need to do something to mend the injustice done to the black slaves. It would be nice if we could and it would be nice if we could make it up to the Japanese americans that were confined during the war and the native americans who lost all their hunting land. But what? What can anyone do? I know a lot of people who are adopted or who's familys never kept track of ancestors. I don't think they feel like they don't have roots. Everyone has roots, we just don't always know where they are.

Are We ready for a Black President?
But who is America? goverment ? taxpayers? I think it's all of us, including you. So what exactly can we do? I think if it were to cost all other races except blacks more money everyone would be furious and there might be some hatred for blacks where non exists now. . We pay too much in taxes already. Were else would it come from. How else do we make up for what was done to your ancestors? What would make you feel vindicated? I would like to help, I'm sure a lot of people would like to do something to help blacks get over the "poor me" mind set, but what? If you have an answer, please share. I think if we elect a black man for president (because I think he would do a good job, not because he's black) that might help the racial issue (that is a non-issue for many many of us.)

Are We ready for a Black President?
Watcher, Have I hurt you in any way? I know I have never hurt anyone who was black (although a black man hurt me but that is another issue and had nothing to do with his race). My ancestors didn't own any slaves. They were too poor and worked as hard as sany slave themselves just to keep alive. So what kind of "mends" do you want from me? I personally think everyone has to live in the here and now and try to do the best they can and give up the "poor me" attitude. Life is what you make it.

Newbie to the 60+ group
I'm sorry you lost your husband. I divorced about 11 yrs. ago because he is an alcoholic and wouldn't try to stop. We had 6 children. Lost the oldest. I gained mega weight after he died. I'm still trying to find a better way to deal with emotions.

Should I get an unfill? What do you think?
What does your PCP think you should? I would follow his advice. Non of us know your body like he does (not to mention that he's the one with the MD after his name.) We will be here to support your decision.

starting to gain
You need to see your Dr ASAP. I doubt if the tremors have anything to do with the band but something is wrong and shouldn't be ignored. As far as the reflux, see your band Dr about that.

Fresh Foods???
You should be able to eat anything you can chew well but everyone seems to have a couple things they can't eat. Bread and scrambled eggs are common. I have issues with bananas

Are We ready for a Black President?
I think we are not only ready, we need a black president. We need someone to set an example to all the black children in America who think there is no reason to study. They need to know that they are just as good and capable as any other race. They need to know that the most important man in America is a black man and that other races look up to and respect him.
