  1. I am currently pregant and banded. I started my band journey at 305lbs and was 233lbs when I conceived. I got pregnant as soon as I stopped taking the pill.
  2. When I was 6 I stuck a small stud type earring up my nose. It was stuck way up near my sinus and I had to go to the ER to have it removed. I still get nosebleeds in that nostril.
  3. Banded March 30, 2005 Surgeon: Dr. Arturo Rodriguez, Monterrey. MX Not eroded, no problems to report!
  4. Good to see how everyone is doing. Let's see here, at 8 months post op I was down 75lbs. Now I am 19weeks pregnant, and back up to 245 so that's a net loss of 60lbs. I must admit that I am a bit sad not to get to my goal of 100lbs loss by my 1 year anniversary March 30th. I'm already planning my post-baby weight loss :-)
  5. Congratulations on the pregnancy. I too am expecting a little one around July 4th.
  6. Congratulations Alex! That is a great accomplishment.
  7. Wow Lisa, look at you go! Go Lisa go!!! I admire your adventuresome spirit.
  8. Well, the verdict is in from the vet's office. It seems that Rachel doesn't have any fractures. She most likely is very sore due to bruising and she tore off one of her claws. She's hobbling around our house with a bandaged paw, but that is definately better than not being there at all, so I'll take it! I had to work alot yesterday and again today, so I'm spending as much time with her as I can and showering her with love. This whole incident has brought out such emotions in my husband for her that I never knew were there (he's not much of a dog person). It truely is very sweet and at this point I can't tell who is giving her more attention dh, me, or our 5 year old son. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. It means alot to me to know that I have such a great support system out there.
  9. I see Dr. Ross Fox in Tacoma. His number is listed in a previous post on this thread.
  10. I've been checking out the lighted dog collars at this site: www.auroralites.com My mom met a lady who was walking her black dog at night, and said that the collar made the dog very visable. We have a fully fenced yard, but every once in a while the dogs dig a hole so they can get out and explore the neighborhood. I'm hoping that replacing and dog proofing the fence will help, but I think I'm going to buy a few of these collars too. No word yet on how Rachel is doing.
  11. Last night both of my chows got out of the yard, and unfortunatley one of them was hit by an SUV. Princess Rachel is a beautiful 2 year old chow that I've had since she was 6 weeks old. After the incident, a neighbor notified us and we brought Rachie in the house and observed her. She seemed shaken up and had a cut to her paw and her snout, but not in any trauma. The driver stopped by later in the evening to let us know he didn't actually run her over with his tire, but she did hit his bumper and went running off. We agonized over whether or not to take her to the emergency vet, and finally decided to wait until morning. My husband is taking Rachie to the vet this morning because she really just isn't acting like herself. I feel horrible that we didn't take her sooner, and now am just so worried that she has internal bleeding or some horrible problem that the vet won't be able to fix. Please say a prayer for my Princess doggie. I'll let you all know how she's doing as I get the info. I have some lovely pictures of her on another thread around here, I'll try to find them. Thank you!
  12. Hi Tellie, I am also pregnant and banded. I am in my 16th week now. I found out about the pregnancy at 11 weeks and had some fill taken out of my band at that time. I cannot each much at one time, however I am hungry every few hours. I haven't had any band-related issues come up in the pregnancy yet, and I don't expect any of course, but only time will tell. If you have any questions or need support along the way feel free to PM me. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
  13. I pm'd you some instructions. Hope they help!
  14. I just changed mine as well for basically the same reason.
  15. Welcome to bandland Nick. Kathy is right, each day it will get better. Hang in there.
  16. I weighed at my doctor's appointment Thursday and I have officially gained 9 lbs! I am not proud of that at all. food wise, I could be making better choices. I have, however, been getting in plety of Water and exercise. I think I may only get weighed at my doctor's visits until this pregnancy is over.
  17. Congratulations Lauren on your accomplishment. You are doing such a great job!
  18. January 14th B: 8oz orange juice 1 chocolate chip cookie
  19. Okay, I'm going to take a shot at this too. While my focus right now is not weight loss due to my pregnancy, I don't want to gain too much weight either. In the past month I've put on about 9lbs (had my band loosened 2 months ago). And while I realize that it's for a very good cause, it really is too early in my pregnancy to be putting on that much weight. Here's how I've done today. B: yogurt (7am) S: 1/2 c oatmeal with brown sugar (10am and I'm starving!) 1 banana L: salad (baby spinach, hard-boiled egg, cheese, bleu cheese dressing, sunflower seeds) 1 C clam chowder S: 3 Cookies (2 oatmeal cranberry and 1 peanut butter) D: 4oz t-bone steak string Beans mashed potatoes *before bed I ate some low fat vanilla ice cream.
  20. I think that 170-190 would be a decent range. You can always change your goal as you get closer to it and see how your body looks.
  21. Ladies you all look gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing Vines.
  22. You ladies are truely beautiful. Love the new avatars!
  23. I am a bit disturbed seeing some of the items that the other bidders have bought in the past. I guess buying surgical tools or equipment that can be sterilized is not really that big of a deal, but what kind of medical facility really buys it's supplies on E-bay? Makes me wonder where my band came from.....
  24. When will you find out about your chances at being on The Biggest Loser? Is it possible to postpone making your reservations for France until after you know you make it on the show or not??? Or can you buy a refundable ticket just in case? Good luck whatever you choose to do, both sound like very exciting adventures.
  25. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
