  1. Yesterday I walked a total of 6 miles. I took my son to the park in the morning and walked a mile while he played on the big toy, then I walked to the track last night and did 20 laps! My muscles are very sore today!
  2. Alright then, it's I Believe by Chris Isaak.
  3. I'm definatley making up for my gain last week. This past week I got a fill, been drinking TONS of water, and added some jogging to my walks. The result? I weight 246 this morning. That's 7lbs for the week, and 5 for the challenge because of the first week gain. I know it's just extra water weight while my body is adjusting to the extra exercise, but I'll take it!!!
  4. This week: Under bust : 44 Waist 45 Hips 47 Weight 246 It must be the jogging!
  5. I've been doing pretty good with my exercise. Here;s my update for yesterday and today: Saturday: toom tons of stairs at work, mowed lawn at home Sunday: JOGGED!!! (1/4 mile non stop), then walked 2 miles with another 1/4 miled of jogging (two half laps around the track). Total walking/jogging about 2 1/2 miles including the walk to and from the track.
  6. I've been doing pretty good with my exercise. Here;s my update for the past few days: Friday: Walked 1 1/2 miles at track. Saturday: toom tons of stairs at work, mowed lawn at home Sunday: JOGGED!!! (1/4 mile non stop), then walked 2 miles with another 1/4 miled of jogging (two half laps around the track). 7. Anyone got a clue on this one?
  8. The Smith's : Frankly Mr. Shankly Here's one: But not for me, and not for you. I know you tried, and I tried to. Sometime all our dreams just don't come true
  9. Last night I walked about 1 1/2 miles with my two doggy princesses. It was getting late and dark, so I had to call it quits. Hopefully it will stop raining by this evening and I can go for a walk.
  10. Becky, You should be extremely proud of the weight you've lost in the past 3 months. You are doing a fabulous job. Keep it up!!!
  11. This morning I walked 1 mile. Last night I walked 5 miles at the track, then did some crunches and arm work while watching The Biggest Loser. Monday night I walked 3 miles at the track, which included jogging 1 lap (1/4 mile) nonstop. That was a first for me!
  12. Good for you Vines! I think that we sometimes put too much emphasis on the amount of weight we lose, but the number on the scale really can be meaningless. Most of us start this process with similar goals-to be healthier, in better shape, smaller. What you have accomplished is exactly that!!!! I say good for you. We all also chose the band over RNY for our own reasons. This is not a race. You are doing great, and I bet accomplishing many of the NSV's that you had your mind set on when you began this journey. Keep sharing your success - you are truely a motivation!
  13. So I post this challenge then what do I do -nothing! Well, I am back in the band groove. Here's my exercise update: Saturday: walked/jogged 3 miles, did some upper body strength training and ab work Monday: walked/jogged 3 miles, lower body toning and ab work **** I actually jogged one full lap (1/4 mile) non stop!!!!!**** I did it! I did it! Usually I walk 2-3 laps, jog 1/2 lap and so on. My husband accompanied me to the track tonight, and I told him that one of my goals was to jog one complete lap non stop. I'm not physically exausted at 1/2 a lap, but something in my mind just says "stop before you are exausted". I asked him if he would jog along with me and we'll see if the two of us can make a lap. We did it. Oh, and I beat him to the finish line!!!! Can't wait until tomorrow afternoon and we'll do it again. Hope it doesn't rain, this is Seattle after all.
  14. Here are my stats (Sorry Nana-I didn't realize there was a deadline for a specific time today to get you the info). Measurements: Under bust: 44 1/2 Waist: 48 1/2 Hips: 50 Weight 253 (up 2 from last week ) Here's my pic from 1 week ago it'll have to do for now as I don't have time for any photos today.
  15. Hi Catherine, Nice to have you join us. I'm in the Seattle area too. Hey, if you ever need an exercise buddy let me know, I've been looking for someone to exercise with. I'm getting tired of walking by myself. Vines- You know what my hubby says about the Eastside...It's where the beautiful people live. You know, out jogging in the morning or walking the dog before they're off to the day spa. Hope you know I'm soooo kidding. However, I do have a friend who just bought a house over there for nearly a million, and while she was decorating she told one of the painter's "don't spend too much time on this, this is not my dream house".
  16. I was kindof bummed this morning, as I started the Fall Weightloss Challenge last week, and my first weeks performance was a horific 2lb GAIN. Say what??? I know why I gained, so I guess I just need to work on my eating behaviors, and I'm going in for a fill today too. Despite the reappearance of these 2lbs, I am celebrating my overall achievement since being banded. This morning I was looking for something a bit dressy to wear to the office. I tried on a great black & teal suit that I've had for a few years. I used to just wear the jacket and pants since the camisole was tighter than the skin on a sausage. Not only are the jacket and pants too big, but I could slip the camisole on without unzipping it, and it was so loose that it looked terrible. Yay! Then, for kicks, I decided to try on another suit, and once again, too big! So I opted for a nice plaid skirt that used to be soo tight that 1. I'd have to ask my hubby to zip it for me, while I sucked in my gut and pulled tight on fabric to give him enough slack to let it zip, and 2. it was so tight that it would bunch at the waist leaving about an inch of the lining showing at the bottom. Well, I am happy to say that I pulled it on this morning....you read it right, PULLED, not even unbuttoned or unzipped! It's not too big to wear, but there is definately a differance from before. I just wanted to share these motivating discoveries. Thanks for reading!
  17. This morning I'm 253. Yep, that is a 2 lb GAIN for me. Wish I could say it was all muscle, but I'm nearly positive it has something to do with ice cream, chocolate, oh yeah..and Mexican food!!! Thankfully I'm headed to the doc's office today for a fill which should help with my restriction, and always gives me a psychological boost as well. I was scheduled for one Aug. 19th, but rescheduled because I had good restriction and had lost about 13lbs in the 3 wks since my last fill. I am a bit nervous that I have a leak, as my fills seem to last only 3-4 weeks, then nothing! Of all 6 cc's I should have in my band, my doc was only able to get 2.5 cc's out at my last visit. Great job Keri, Kim, Loulou, Porclndoll, and Parvathi! Keep up the good work!
  18. You all look absolutely fabulous!!!! Wish I could be there. Keep the pics coming!
  19. Alex, I am so very happy for you. Congratulations on the good news. Best wishes to you for continued success with your band.
  20. Way to go! You are doing an amazing job, and are such an inspiration to me. Just imagine all of the wonderful NSVs to come!
  21. Hey Nana- I wanna play too! I don't think it matters that we have two challenges going on, I only wish that I thought of offering a prize, what motivation that is! I'll post a new pic and measurements on the 12th.
