  1. My question is....... Do you dump on liquid drinks as well? Like a Sweet Tea? I know all about empty calories, not saying I'm gonna be drinking that all day every day but maybe have a glass once a month. I mean I am in the south and it was something I enjoyed drinking it in 110 degree weather!
  2. How is your food and Protein intake? How bout your energy? Btw, you look awesome!
  3. Awesome, I LOVE watermelon!! I was scared I was never gonna be able to eat it. I read oranges are a no no, must be due to acidity..
  4. Yum! Watermelon. Is that tolerable post-op?
  5. I've been carrying water every where I go, I just have the worst problem getting all of it down. I'll be glad when this struggling gets over with. I have been walking, maybe not enough do I'll step up there. I used to just chug my drinks like crazy before surgery, now with post-op life it's depressing barely being able to get anything down... And I'm super thirsty, just this gas and queasy feeling makes me hesitant.
  6. I'm still in the liquid stage but I still have so much gas by just drinking water... I also still get queasy when I'm drinking anything as well. I'm a week and a day post-op and it's getting so frustrating. It's impossible for me to get in 64oz or even 75g of protein because of the gas and queasiness.
  7. I heard too many horror stories about Alcohol so I won't even attempt it. I used to drink in social settings basically from peer pressure do I won't be a "lame". But I can careless now, no way I wanna dump over something as foolish as liquor. If I'm gonna dump its gonna be for something serious like my grandma peach cobbler or uncle tea cakes! I don't even plan on those so alcohol is seriously the least thing I'd be thinking about. With smoking, every since the 3rd grade when they showed a healthy lung and then a lung that's been smoking for 5 years I told myself then NEVER EVER will I smoke anything.
  8. I'm in the clear liquid stage and all I watch is Food Network. Doesn't really make me upset... In a sense it's almost fulfilling my cravings. Now my wife and kids made popcorn and I almost cried...
  9. Mine has been a dark dark brown to black. Not sure what it means.
  10. I'm on clear liquids and I'm telling you right now I can't wait for the puréed stage! Scrambled eggs with sour cream, liquid salsa! Or Refried beans with cheese and sour cream. Mashed Patatos with sour cream and shredded cheese. I'm gonna purée some chilli... I'm Goin IN!
  11. Hey! Welcome! Curious to know what kind of complications you have had...
  12. I hope you get better really soon. I'll be praying for you. Try to move around, walk as much as you can. Like after each nap make it a point to walk longer each time.
  13. Yea I would call the Doc ASAP! I had drainage the day of the surgery but nothing after. I'm 4 days post op and pain is all but gone. Just feel sore like I did a billion sit-ups/crunches. The incisions feel itchy every now and then but I just scratch around it and move along. But you shouldn't be bleeding at all.
  14. I'm 4 days post. But a lot better, I get it every now and then just sipping Water. But the real pain after the surgery lasted about 10 hours. I walked about 5x in that 10hrs. It helped a lot.
  15. Gas pain is what kicked my ass! Soon as I got my barrings after surgery, all I could think of is the amount of pain I was in due to the gas. The more I walked the better I felt though.
  16. A big ass to go platter of greasy spicy combination fried rice! Damn!! Here I am 3 days post op and have been gassed up, full feeling but I still want that right now SO bad!
  17. I dumped on a sugar free Popsicle. I think it was dumping. I had a fast heart beat, sweating and nausea.
  18. I had thoughts of regret my first night home. I couldn't get comfortable, I was full of gas and couldnt pass gas. my pee stream was weak so naturally I looked up stuff on the Internet and scared my self half to death with stuff I read. But I ended up getting through the night and that was 2 days ago and I haven't had the thought of regret since. I know I have a long way to go still do we shall see.
  19. Only person that knows is my wife. For some reason I don't want to feel like a failure to anyone. I felt like they would think I was taking the easy way out, which by me being 3 days post-op it is NOT the easy way out.
