  1. My Doc did staples, they had regular band-aids on it. I called the office and they said it was ok to shower and take off the band-aids.
  2. How do you feel? Still sore? Having gas problems?
  3. Just walk and walk again. That will get the gas pains to subside.
  4. Man I don't know how I would have taken that!!! My wife poured a bowl of cereal and I got so jealous!!
  5. Wow that's scary! Did he have to do a blood transfusion? My doc didn't cut an artery but I was so dehydrated the entire time I was close to getting one.
  6. WOW!!! I just started passing gas and my stomach is feeling a lot better!! Sorry to be so graphic but it's true!!
  7. Hey! Congrats! I just had mine on Tuesday. I still haven't passed gas or had a BM. I been burping and hiccuping though. Hiccups hurt! But it relieves a lot of the gas stuck in my abdomen. The only pain I really had was the gas.
  8. Anyone who already had their surgery have problems passing gas?
  9. How did your surgery go? I had mine on the 24th. Back at home now. Only thing that gave me pain was the gas.
  10. Have you weighed your self? Did you do any kind of pre-op diet? I started this journey at 333, then my doc put me on a pre-op all liquid diet for a week and went down to 318 on the day of my surgery which was yesterday. With nothing but I'VE yesterday and ice chips I know I weigh less. I don't feel like I have been losing weight until i step on the scale.
  11. So I just had my surgery yesterday... The pain right when I woke up was the GAS!! I mean it was horrible pain! No pain from my cuts or anything. Just the gas. The hosp gave me Gas-X strips to try to help relieve the pain but walking and walking is what gets rid of it. I'm back home now, I have this On-Q pump still inserted in me, can't wait to get that out. Looks like I do it myself. With exception to the horrible gas pain, it has so far been a good experience.
  12. Thanks for the encouragement!!! If there is one thing that is consistent here it is no one regrets the decision to move forward with the surgery!
  13. The doctor I'm going to told me to do a liquid diet a week before. I'm currently in it and it SUCKS! I want to cry! I haven't cheated and the closer I get the less I want to cheat but the harder it is! I have my surgery on Tuesday the 24th! But I want popcorn so bad! I want a hotdog so bad! I want chicken strips with rice so bad! I want a gigantic triple bacon cheese burger!
  14. Hey peeps!! Just found this site and phone app! I am set to have my surgery on 7/24/2012. Currently 6'1 and weigh 320. I started my pre-op diet on 7/17/2012 and at that time I was 333lbs. I'm super nervous, I have all my vitamins and protein powder but I still feel ill-prepared. During this liquid diet I have been so tempted to eat something. My favorite things to watch on tv is always on the food network and I been watching it constantly just thinking about the foods I will not be able to have anymore. It's been depressing me A lot. I'm scared of something happening during the surgery, I have two little girls and the last thing I want to do is leave them without a father. Will I be able to have popcorn down the road? Pizza? Chinese food? Chicken Tika Misala? Arghhhh!!!!!
