Everything was submitted on the 12 for you? If so that didn't take very long at all. Please keep us posted your date. As long as Im approved I will have mine ont he 13th. So it looks like we will all be banded around the same time. Where did you say you were from? Val

Someone had posted on the boards one time that you can't do crunches because it could flip the port. Did anyone else ever hear of this?

Can you feel the restriction as they are filling it? If that happened to you when they missed your port how exactly do they know they have the port in the first place.

ok PLEASE HELp!!!!! I called the drs. office today and spoke with the surgical scheduler. She said that everything wasnt submitted until yesterday because they couldnt find the psyc. evaluation. They finally found it on the Dr. desk. So here I was thinking everything was submitted last friday July 12th and it wasnt sent until July 18th. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hi Deb- I am from New Jersey also. I am being banded at Atlantic City Medical Center by Dr. Patel I am very happy with everything so far.

My appointment was on Friday, July 13th so they said they were going to send it that day. I am going to call someone tomorrow to make sure it was sent. I am suprised that they gave me the date without approval.

I have Horizon blue cross blue shield NJ. My doctors office seemed pretty sure I would be approved also but you just never know. Do you have a date for your surgery?

LOL I have my surgery date scheduled for Aug. 13th but don't want to get things together until I hear that Im approved. They gave me my date for surgery but I am still waiting for insurance approval. Anyone else in the same situration. I want to start buying the stuff I need for post-op but afraid if I do I won't get approved. I HATE WAITING!!!

My husband is the same age as I am 39 and I have the same problem. It seems as though he is happy as long as everything is going his way and he is not asked to do anything. Which is really not fair on my part. Since we are on the subject he has lost 30 pounds since I have decided to get the band. I am being banded Aug 13th (ias long as insurance approves). Maybe he is afraid Im going to get thin and leave his ass!(LOL) Anyway that felt better! Sometimes you just need to vent. So what I was getting at was I don't think that is the age thing I just think that is their personality. I like to share with you the quote of my great Aunt after my uncle passed away. It was about six months later and her and my grandmother were talking. My grandmother made the comment "Well Dora maybe you need a boyfriend" To this my Aunt replied "Oh no...I had enough man for a lifetime"!

Hi ethansgrandma- Congratuglations on the reband date. i am sorry to hear that you have to wait so long but if you need heeling time it is well worth it. Maybe you can use meds for a few months so you arent starving or regaining too much weight. I am not totally for meds but maybe it is what you need just for a few months. It might be worth looking into. Val

Gayle I am sooo happy for you. You must feel like a new woman! Did your insurance pay for it? Big Medicine last night had a woman that had skin hanging to her knees and the insurance would not approve. I felt so bad for her. I am not banded yet but already have hanging skin from children and yo-yo dieting. Had you considered a tummy tuck also or just needed the skin removal? Congrats Again! Valerie

I will say a prayer for you. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Please do the same when you get word. Walter thank you for the heads up. Like Candle I hope it wont have to come to that.

I watched her when she was on the view and always thought she was a beautiful woman even as heavy as she was. I think when you know someone that is heavy and they loose a lot of weight they do look totally different and sometimes it is hard to relate to that person because they do look so different. Personally my first reaction when I first saw her after she had lost all that weight was that she looks terrible. But that is so unfair. You cannot compare who she was to who she is now. She is still beautiful and should be extremely pround of herself and her achomplishment!

I have a question with the body bugg. Is this something you keep on all day. I was wondering if you wear it to work? Is it noticeable? For those of you who say you want to keep a 1000 deficiet is that 30 minute workout plus just moving around all day? What kind of weight loss with this deficiet? Sorry for all the questions but I am very curious about this. Val

My doctor says to stop drinking 30-45 minutes before eating and 30-45 minutes after eating.

Hi yukaputz-It is funny that you should mention the comet at Hershey Park. I just got back from there last Monday. We had a great time. I will be banded August 13th but I took my daughter on the Comet. I have a 45 inch waist and fit. I wont lie it was tight but I fit! HAve FUN!!!

The last diet I was on before considering the lap band was the drug Phentermine that was perscribed by the dr. Like you, it worked great! However as soon as I went off the weight was regained with a few extra to boot. I was thinking the same thing. It would work just to keep the edge off until the band kicked in. I know that there are plenty over the counter weight loss drugs but I dont know if they can be crushed because they might be time released. Maybe someone else has some thoughts on this
