  1. I see the surgeon on July 13th hope it is lucky for me! Everything will then be submitted to the insurance company. Saying a prayer that I am approved!
  2. I guess it is really a habit drinking with our meals. It will just take something drastic like the band to know we cant do this anymore. Also I guess just not putting a glass on the table at all might make it easier. I have found that eating and drinking is so mindless though that the minute I am not concentrating on chewing longer and no drink I take one.
  3. I am sooo excited! I met with the nutritionist today and I have all my tests and letters in that I need to. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at 9:45 with the surgeon and then everything will be sent to the insurance company. Did you ever feel like you were sooooo close yet still sooooo far away? I am praying that I will be able to have surgery before September. I am a teacher and want to get this done before school starts again. Well I have done my part now I just need to pray and wait. :clap2: Val
  4. They want you to limit the coffee intake because it is a stimulant and can actually make you hungry. Although personally I think it makes me less hungry. My Dr. says one cup a day is just fine. As far as artificaial sweeteners I really do not like them. I am prediabetic and perfer stevia which is all natural and much better for you than some of the others.
  5. I am also pre-op and a fast eater also. I too am concerned about the chewing thing. I realize now that I am paying attention that I hardly even chew before swallowing. How about Water. No water while eating is going to take some getting used to also. I have been trying to do this with little results. I guess I am just going to have to not put a glass on the talble. Is there anyone else that has a problem with this?
  6. o2bthin thank you for the info. I was told not to wear an underwire for a couple of days after the surgery. And since we still want to look cute after our proceedure I will definetly look for those sets at Walmart.
  7. I think her boyfriend was being very selfish! He said he didn't want to date a bone. Happy for her that he is just her boyfriend and not her husband!
  8. I watched it. It was very interesting. How about her boyfriend wanting her to stay heavy? What was that all about?
  9. What did your dr. do for your approval? All he did was fill out the two forms that were given to me form the surgeons office. I really wanted him to write a letter explaining why I should have it. I have diabeties, high chol. ect. He said if the insurance company wants more from him they will ask. Yeah I know that but I dont want anything to hold things up! AHHHHHHH!!! Val:eek:
  10. Congratulations on the band and I am very sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. Hang in there and try to keep yourself busy. This may help with the emotional eating that you may be going through.
  11. I am thinking of it this way. In the past I have been on Phen Fen, Phentermine and God only knows what other meds that a weight Dr. had given me. The damage of those drugs over years of taking them are far worse on your heart than the band could be. I don't know what will happen with the band in 20 years but I do know that if I don't get the band I may not be here in 20 years. I want to be healthy and watch my babies grow up. I know that with the band my quality of life will be so much better than it is right now. I hope this helps you!
  12. Hi Deanna- Your future sister-in-law is probably not jealous of you and her brother. She most likely is jealous that you are taking control of your weight and she can't or hasn't. She may come around and decide to get banded also but that will have to be her decision. Just hang in there. You are doing a good job. Recognizing that she is doing this is half the battle. As far as the popcorn I would throw it away or take it to work and share with others that will enjoy it. Good luck to you!
  13. quadmom Next time your in the area let me know maybe we can get together. Val
  14. Isn't there a nutritional lable on the back of that thing? LOL
  15. I live in Vineland which is located south. Where were you from?
  16. Donna it sounds like you are really doing great! Congratulations!!!
  17. Texgal that is a very good question! I am not banded yet but hope to be in August. We went down the shore with my two children last weekend. (We live in South Jersey) and I went on a ride with my daughter that got me thinking the same thing. I was called the tidal wave and went around and up and down. I could feel my stomach go up and down. I wonder how that would effect the band? Would it cause a slip? Texgal and I want to know!?!?
  18. Wow 26 pounds is fantastic. Keep up the good work!
  19. I am glad to hear everything is OK
  20. Danny this is so exciting for you. I am not banded yet but hope to be in August. The time away from family is hard but it makes you appreciate them that much more. Good luck to you! Val
  21. Well once I get banded and lose my weight and have my Tummy Tuck I'll look forward to that. Thanks for the Info
  22. I love Dr. 90210 and some got something called the G-shot. They stick a needle in your g-spot and inject with God only knows what. It is suppose to make you able to reach orgasm easier and more frequently. Hopefully only during sex though. Could be dangerous if your driving down the road and start to climax!
  23. I saw on TV where they tighten the muscles seperated from childbirth. This also helps with incontinence. Is this the same thing your talking about nume130? As far as libido I have no drive at all since being put on Lexapro. Has anyone else had this experience (or lack of LOL)?
  24. Hello, boy we do have a nice group here! I have my last nutritionist appointment on July 12th. I hope to get my pre-surgery appointment soon after. I have had all necessary evaluations and approvals so Aug. will probably be it. I hope insurance doesnt give me a problem. I WANT MY B A N D !!!!!
  25. It sounds like an infection since the fever is soooo high. As a nurse you know 103 for an adult is not that good. If you continue with the diarreha I would go to the emergency room. I am really concerned for you!
