Thanks for all the great advice girls! I love it. Yes I know I need to redo my thinking process. And you are all very right. I have been upfront and sent a picture so whatever happens happens. But I know one thing I am ready to start living again! Valzie

Thank you so much for the advice. I have been married for 15 years and dont know what to do. The picture I sent was recent but only a head and shoulder shot. I mean when I think about it is my issue and may not be an issure for him. Thank you Valzi
  3. Ok here goes: My husband and I are seperated and I have been talking with someone that I met on an online dating site. It started out as emails, then exchanging pics, chatting, and now phone conversations. We seem to get along really well. He asked me to go out with him this weekend but I am very nervous. I have been overweight all my life and just had lapband surgery in Aug. I've lost 20 pounds so far and feel great but am still lacking in the self-confidence department. So here is my question: 1- Do I tell him that I am overweight? Or does that sound too lame 2- Do I tell him I had lapband surgery? Or is it too soon? I am really stressing over this so please give me some feedback! Valzie
  4. Hi my husband and I have been separated for about a month now, about 2 weeks after I was banded. So I guess I am joining the single group. I feel peaceful but.....I wish I had taken care of my body the 15 years I was with him. Well I guess being banded was the first step. Val
  5. Hi newgirl I am waiting for my first fill also and I have been more hungry. I had a couple of Cookies yesterday and did feel guilty but I made a bad choice and plan on doing better today. Having the cookies in the house for me is a big mistake and I wont do that again. Today is a new day so hang in there. Valzie
  6. Remember the band is the tool. In our minds we still want the junk but we need to focus on what our body is telling us. Are we really hungry? I am dealing with these very same issues and I know it isnt easy! Valzie
  7. I too am in a loveless marriage. We have been married 15 years and my husband has been unfaithfull for several of those years finally confessing to an addiction 4 years ago. Since then I have had a hard time being with him especially when he treats me like crap during the day and all of a sudden wants me when we get in bed. However this hasnt been the case lately since he has slept on the couch (His Choice) for several months. Since my decision in April 07 to get the lap band he has lost about 40 pounds, bought a mustang GT and has been out with his friends more than ever. My two children 6 and 3 are feeling the stress and my heart is breaking! His family is even fed up with him at this point. And so I live day to day wondering if he will end it or will I get the courage to do it. Is it going to get better? I doubt it. As I begin to lose weight and my self-confidence grows I think he will pull away from me even more. I guess time will tell! Valzie
  8. I had six including my port. VAL
  9. I was banded just 10 days ago and feel great so far. The whole process for me took 3 1/2 months. Good luck! Val
  10. Frozen veggie burgers (without the bun) only need to be heated in the microwave and are pretty good. Val
  11. As my great aunt once said :Ive had enough man for a lifetime" I can relate totally! Val
  12. I was told to limit meals to 1/2 cup servings three times a day. Two Protein shakes in between meals and also liquids in between. Val
  13. I am six days out and last night I ate a quarter of a meatball. I took teeny tiny pieces and chewed and chewed somemore. It went down ok. I guess we are human and this is all part of it. Got back on track today and not planning on doing it again until it is allowed. Val
  14. Hi all I had surgery on Monday, Aug. 13th so it has been a five days that my band and I have been aquaintend. We are getting along well. I have been on clear liquids since the day before my surgery and this is my last day of it. Thank God! I give those of you credit that had two weeks of liquids prior to your surgery. I dont think I could have done it. Sat. I start full liquids and I am looking forward to it! I will be on full liquids until Friday, Aug 24 when I go back for my post-op checkup. Then it is onto the mushies. It is amazing how many food commercials there really are on TV the Taco Bell one that they seemed to play over and over yesterday was painful. I hope all of you Aug bandsters are doing well. I think that this site is great! Val
  15. Ok lets see if my ticker works.
  16. I have been banded for four days and my in-laws came over last night to help with my kids because hubby had to go to work. They brought over chicken, mac and cheese, ice cream and doritos. It bothered me a little but I know that I am doing the right thing. I think it is normal to question what we are doing. We are trying to change habbits that we have had all of our life and whith change comes mourning for who we were. But if you think about it what we were- overweight and not healthy. Val
  17. Four days post-op and feeling really good. I have been burping a lot which can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable. The dr. used glue so I have been able to take showers which feels good. I am finding it hard getting in all the liquids. Last night for dinner I ate a 1/4 cup of Jello and tried to get down 1/4 cup of broth but started to get an a tightness in my chest which I am thinking might be the new full so I stopped. I really dont feel hungry although the TV shows food constantly which doesnt help. I keep thinking about all the times I ate compulsively without being hungry. This has really given my a wake up call! Val
  18. I was also told to drink Clear liquids the first six days. This includes Jello, broth, and Isopure clear. I was told to drink a bottle and a half which provides enough Protein so you wont loose your hair. On Sat. I can start on liquids which may include creamy Soups, Protein shakes (which are required) pudding, cream of wheat. I have six days of that and then can go to mushies. I think protein is very important at this stage. Val
  19. Thanks for the advice. I feel pretty good. I had problems yesterday moving but today is much better. I havent had much problem with the gas but I have been walking around the house quite a bit. I dont get sick when I drink liquids just an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I think this is how it feels now to be full. It will take some getting used to I guess. Val
  20. Hi all, I am two days post op and am having trouble getting in all water/clear Protein liquid that is required. According to the nutritionist I am suppose to dring a bottle and a half of the liquid Isopure along with water/ crystal light totaling 64oz a day. Did anyone else have trouble with this at first? Any suggestions? I drink little sips at a time but soon after feel uncomfortable. Any one else experience this? Thanks Val:help:
  21. Dont they usually come with Video instructions? If not I would call the company and ask for help. They should give you support after the purchase. Good luck! Val
  22. Thank you all so much for the well wishes. I didnt sleep well in the hospital so when I got home yesterday I did sleep. The dr. perscribed Tylenol with Codenine but I just took a dose of regular liquid tylenol for a headache. Probably from not eating. I did try to drink but I know I am not getting enough still. I took a few gulps in the hospital (mistake) and I think I experienced my first foaming saliva experience that you guys always talk about. I felt like I was going to lose it and my stomach contracted once and it hurt so bad I think I forgot. It didnt happen perhaps the Water went down. Dont want to go there again YUCK. So now I am on Clear liquids until the 18th and then full liquids until I see the dr. on the 24th. Thanks again guys for all the love and support. Val
  23. Hi All, I just want to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It is 4 pm and I am in the hospital. I had my lapband surgery this morning 7:30. I am feeling pretty good. I walked aroung the floor where I am about 5 times total so far. Pain is not too bad except getting up and down. I had to cough a few times also which really did hurt but the pillow over the belly tight really does help. The band I got was the AG? I think that is what Dr. Patel said 14.5 ccs. I will ask again when I see him tonight or tomorrow morning. Valerie:clap2::clap2:
  24. Good luck to you! This sight is great not only for support but also for answering the many questions that you might have along the way. Val
