I guess in a way i'm happy that my insurance doesn't pay for this. I had to quit smoking too, but luckily, I was tired of it. I don't have to wait around, but I do have to go to Mexico to make it affordable. Surgery is next Tues. so i'll keep looking for your updates.

A laxative?? Really?? You poor girl.

I too believe in pain killers - if I hurt the day I leave the hospital to fly home, you bet i'll be insisting on liquid Vicodin!!

I agree, get rid of them. I too have a frugal side. Some of the women on here do Goodwill, thrift shops, or consignment stores, while losing weight and dropping sizes.

Hell Yeah!! I'm doing the same thing before my surgery - mani/pedi, roots,I want to look good for this surgery!!

I can relate to your fears as well - am having surgery 7/30. I too have forgotten what it's like to be in normal sizes. The thing is, I did go on a shoe binge - I really hope my feet don't shrink

That's a shame - there are methods to control that. It sounds like you had an allergic reaction to either the anesthesia, or the pain meds. I can't believe they took so long to stop that. Surgery usually is not that pleasant - however, they should have done something for you right away.

I am so happy you could fit in that suit!!! And your face does really show your weight loss! Your doing great!!

It's nice to hear another person who feels that their life with food will not be "over" after surgery.

Talk to your PCP or your surgeon - it can probably be easily corrected. But you've got to let your professionals know

I do not have a long post-op diet plan. I quit smoking 3 weeks ago and have gained 10lbs. God knows how fast we can all put weight on, and I have just been eating with abandon. You are also not the only ones to avoid family gatherings and cameras. I always dread them - but I push myself to go because the bottom line is they are my family. Make sure you go to see them in December. Your family loves you and wants to see you and your daughter no matter what you weigh!!

I am so glad that you just followed instructions. I have been told that if I follow my surgeon's instructions to the letter, that I will be fine. Why is that so hard??

OMG, that's why we all are on this forum. This is an extreme lifestyle adjustment with no days off. I know that before when I was on one of my weight loss kicks - you know keep it up long enough to get about 20lbs. off, then kind of slowly giving the new eating plan the boot, gain 25lbs. in two weeks. This is different and it gets emotional because we can't stuff our feelings down with food. I don't know about you, but I did that alot. This is all normal. You can still be a Culinary Genius, but, your husband may have to take on the "tasting" duties (eventually you'll be able to take one bite), then you'll have to give the food away, or better yet sell it. I used to bake for extra $$ - and I was thin when I did that. It is time to kick food dependence to the curb. We will all learn to eat what we need nutritionally. Hopefully, once we fill our nutritional needs, there won't be room for the food we don't really need. You will be fine.

You would think that they would recognize at Hallmark that WLS is an occasion. Love that one shoulder lace dress!! Congratulations on your date, that is my date as well. Can't wait!

I read this - it has really good information. If you're light on post-op diet progression information - this provides answers

Now come on, expecting to get an answer the 1st or 4th phone call??? I really hope the rest of this goes better for you - but - be prepared, you may have to push and prod people to get what you want.
