[size=4][font=trebuchet ms,helvetica,sans-serif] I am a 37 year-old, married, mother of 2 who works full time and is fat! I have tried all sorts of ways to lose weight so I can keep up with my kids but nothing seems to work or I get bored with what I am doing and I give up. I had researched WLS before and my doctor had told me I would be a good candidate for it, I just never did anything about it. After this summer's family vacation where I could not ride most of the rides with my kids for being to heavy and I could not walk up the steps for the waterslides I finally did something.

I started by finding out my insurance's requirements which lead me to where I could go and what surgeons I could use. I visited their websites and made an appointment with one. In the mean time I managed to quit smoking and started walking at least 10 minutes a day. I went for my initial visit with the surgeon on June 26 and decided to go with the VSG. Since then I have met with my doctor and received dr's ok for surgery, had a sleep study and got a CPAP machine and have been mentally ok'd for surgery. As of today my paperwork has been submitted to the insurance company! The surgeons office said it could take up to 30 days for approval, but I spoke with someone at work who went thru this earlier this year and she said it only took two weeks so I am hoping to have approval by mid August and schedule my surgery for early September.

I am not a very patient person so I have been researching all I can on the diet for before and after surgery, side effects, ideas for menus and all sorts of things. I have also been watching a lot of vlogs on Youtube and decided I wanted to start a blog, just to be able to track everything that happens during this journey. So here is the beginning and I hope to keep up with this! [/font][/size]
