  1. What!?? I had a lot on my mind back then - there was a lot of pressure being a tween heartthrob!
  2. I think the bigger question for you is in that statement alone... Love yourself, your family, your friends - not a food item... Are you willing to try? I bet you can!!
  3. I did a lot of "thinking" in the shower when I was about 12-13 yrs old...
  4. One of my go-to meals is a cheese quesadilla (sometimes with chicken, sometimes not) - I use one of those soft taco sized Carb Balance tortillas and 1/4 cup of cheese. I fry it up really good with that fake butter spray and I'm totally satisfied.
  5. I would imagine that's a big improvement than what the old you would have eaten, so congrats! Now get back on track before we unleash the mob!
  6. I used to say, tacos are healthy... They have all 4 food groups! Yeah, they still are, LOL -- thanks for all the taco talk folks! You know I'm gonna have to try one today!
  7. I'm using a Health-O-Meter Professional sliding scale. The electronic stuff is crap, IMO.
  8. 11 weeks out and there's no way I could eat a whole one.
  9. Don't be trying to steal my man - you man, stealer, you! You should have your hands full with your own and Martin's!!!
  10. I haven't but I'm already saving for it!
  11. The only time it hits me is when I happen to be folding my new underwear at the same time as a few older pairs. I'm like dang, these old things are HUGE. And then I'm shocked by how little the new ones are and have to keep trying them on to make sure they really DO fit. It's so weird how we see ourselves!
  12. Watch my Day 2 Post-Op video. The link is in my profile
  13. Miko, WOW! 100lbs!?? That's awesome - very inspiring for someone like me, for sure Advice, yeah... Give yourself a nice big ol' pat on the back and don't sweat the last 35lbs. They'll come off when it's their time. Focus on how amazing you must feel and look forward to a summer filled with many more fun things to do than in the past. Great job, buddy!
  14. Hi Dand! At 2 days post-op I literally felt like I was trying to give birth to some alien in my belly. As the swelling as gas become less severe, the sensation you're describing should settle down. That said, you will be aware of how different types of things feel as they go down (which is a good thing). Take care and welcome to the Loser's Bench!
  15. Amy, 21 pounds in 21 days!? Pretty good!!?? That's amazing! Focus on how much better you feel and not the number on the scale. It's so hard not to compare ourselves to other people, but find joy in YOUR journey and just celebrate the successes of others and we'll be here to celebrate yours as well!
  16. You might have just eaten something with a lot of sodium or something. Don't beat yourself up - you'll drop it and then some!
  17. You'll get the hang of this! I can finally (11 weeks out) sense when it's safe to take my next bite. You'll get there, buddy!
  18. I sometimes take a snake before bed...oh wait, nevermind! Seriously though, I tend to gravitate towards the liquid just because I "feel" like it will be easier to digest.
  19. My only REGRET is not doing this SOONER! I am 11 weeks out now and I have had a smooth recovery, no hunger, no food intolerances and steady weightloss. It's worth every penny of the $16K I spent to do this - and if I didn't lose 1 more pound, I'd still be estatic because there is no price tag for how great I feel physically.
  20. All of this feedback is fantastic - it's as if we are all inside of each other's heads. I agree 100% - my ONLY regret is not doing this sooner! There isn't a pizza or cheeseburger in the world that would make me feel as good as I do now. I don't feel like I'm on a diet or deprived at all. I agree with the other poster, I feel more masculine now, more stamina, more "interest" - you name it.
  21. I'm sure I've a seen a few, but my acute gynephobia helps me block those images from my long-term memory. It's a blessing, really...
  22. Laura, I bet you're at least 63% gay after a few cocktails. As the wise sage Honey Boo Boo once said, "everyone's a little gay!"
