discouraged today
It gets better, I promise!!!! No, actually, it gets FANTASTIC! With each day, you are getting healthier and healthier and one day closer to no food restrictions. Once you have a variety of foods to choose from, you'll forget all about the dreaded post-op liquid phase. Hang in there - you're worth it!

Potassium
I also take potassium every evening, just to be safe - nothing worse than getting a muscle cramp!

never knew refried beans could taste like heaven : )
I found that I could pretty much puree anything made by Progresso and was always very content.

Post op gain
You will find that you might have many ups and downs throughout this journey. The fact that you are up 10 lbs does not surprise me. Your body has been through a pretty traumatic few weeks. Allow it time to heal (and sometimes healing involves swelling and fluid retention). Celebrate the fact that you've just taken a major step to better health, you are sticking to your nutritional guide and you are totally hitting your protein goals - those things alone are something to be very very proud of. The weight will come off - focus on the journey, not the number...

full liquid misinterpretation
Don't beat yourself up. You misunderstood and now you're taking corrective action. This journey is all about moving forward. What's done is done, you will be fine, it's a lesson we all learn along the way.

New guy with questions
There hasn't been 1 day that I've even remotely regretted the decision to have VSG surgery!

NSV's While @ Disneyland!
Rode any ride I wanted without fear of being too big. Walked over 10 miles while at the park and my feet did not hurt. Was able to walk through turnstiles head-on instead of turning sideways. Did not succumb to eating junk while in the park and found healthy options. It is definitely now officially the happiest place on earth!

a little down....
If you could forget all about the number - how do you feel? Focus on that!

First flying experience post op tomorrow
I've found stuff on their in-flight menu that I could always eat (cheese, fruit, etc) and I have also found they will give me the whole bottle of Water if I ask (and then some!) You're going to feel so comfortable that you will want to take many many more trips!!

What Are Your Non-Food Related Treats?
- Protein shakes week 1?
2 days post-op- What did it feel like when you woke up from surgery?
I woke up really happy, and totally enjoying those leg massager thingys - I wanted them to leave them on all night, LOL!- Going to PSSC Support Group Tonight 4/16 in Edmonds, WA
Puget Sound Surgical Center 21911 76th Ave W Suite 106 Edmonds WA 98026 6:00pm-7:30pm Hope to see you there!- Mental Stalls - is that such a thing?
My thoughts about what I am calling a mental stall post-op!- 7 days post op and no weight loss
Guhrllll! - My post-op video looks like I ate shellfish and had an allergic reaction - so I feel your pain. Give your body time to heal, don't add any anxiety - relax, hydrate and do your best to get your Protein in.- 7 days post op and no weight loss
Yes!- Surgery tomorrow
A video of you with bed-head, in a hospital gown while high on painkillers would be fantastic- Nothing I Eat Tastes Good
It all tastes the same for me - but the thrill of anticipation before and excitement during is gone. But then again, so is the guilt and shame afterwards! I'll take it!- Alcohol
I'm 3 months+ out - had 2 shots over the course of a very long Saturday night last weekend and didn't feel the effects.- Depression 6 months after sleeve?
Our minds have to "catch-up" with our bodies. I think we all experience "mental stalls" - yes, even me!- How long we're you out of work?
I have an office job and I was out 1 week.- Carbs
My program doesn't have a carb restriction - they only care about me hitting my Fluid and Protein goals. That said, they also want me to always approach my food choices from a protein first, then vegetables, then starchy carbs (if there's any room left). According to myfitnesspal I average 50g of carbs or less (with an occasional spike) per day. I've finished week #14 and am in week #15 with no stalls to date.- Isopure
