Can't decide. ..help!
I chose the sleeve because I did not want to experience dumping or deal with malabsorption issues. I feel like a "normal" person who just eats really tiny portions of food and is never hungry. Love my sleeve - it saved my life mentally and physically!

Will my marriage survive?
I was accused of "changing" within my first week post-op as well. I think the shift where I always put others first to ME first was what was being detected. I was shocked, but thought about it and agreed. "Yes, yes I've changed...for the better and you are going to have a happier, much healthier partner as a result." You two will have the advantage of having a similar experience and goal, but you'll need to be prepared for the "now what?" moment when you are both at goal. Btw, we are doing great 10 weeks and my partner is "feeling the love" a lot right now...if you know what I mean?

No Dietary Restrictions
Met with my nutritionist today and I am officially allowed to eat anything I want. I've not demonstrated any food intolerances and need to boost my Protein and caloric intake. It's weird though because I don't really don't feel like introducing anything new. The purpose of this post is to give people encouragement and hope that life gets pretty normal regarding food and as long as you stick to the basics and listen to your body, you'll do great!

beginner question
- Gay men, dates, and scars
Shanked in prison...that's my go-to story!- kicked off of a fair ride....
It's happened to me too. I even went to Orlando where they have a few seats on the rides for big people and I was STILL too big! Not anymore I can sit comfortably in an airplane seat, use the belt (no extender) and I believe I am under the weight limit to use the slides in Water parks, so I am looking forward to summer. Of course I am going to look very, uh, interesting in a bathing suit, but who cares? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!- Continued improvement, bit the bullet and told my friends through Facebook
Proud of you BDJ!- Suggestions for a protein boost?
Greek yogurt and string cheese really helps boost my protein - sound like you might have caloric room for that!- How long post-op until you showed a loss?
I didn't weigh myself until 1 week post-op. My surgical team/center prepared me with a lot of information, so I was fully aware I would have Water retention right after surgery for a few days (if not a week). I was down 12 lbs after my first week (and that was with an additional 18 lb loss on the 2 week pre-op diet as well). I still only weigh myself once a week. I think it keeps me focused on the program and not a number.- SLEEVE, bypass, SLEEVE, I need advice, plz help!
Sleeve was the clear choice for me as there are no malabsorption issues.- hi there!!! are there really gay people here?!?!?!?
Doing good - busy as hell! Not ready to pick out my summer speedo - but getting there- Truth!
Don't worry - I'll join back in when it goes wildly off-topic! - Gay men, dates, and scars
